Children’s Eye Care

After failing her eye exam at a routine sports physical, the PA told our family that my daughter would need to see an eye doctor for glasses. After consulting with our Vision Insurance Provider, we went with Children’s Eye Care. When I called initially, I was told there was a wait list for the MDs, but that their optometrist, Aida Mekouar, could see our daughter for the WellVision Exam. There was a cancellation that afternoon and we were able to get in that day to see Dr. Mekouar. The front desk staff (Heidi!) was very hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable and we felt very welcomed. The waiting room is like a mini-​amusement park! I wish all Dr’s wait rooms were like this! There’s a toddler/​kid safe play area (imagine the play areas at the mall with the fun foam flooring and obstacles to climb on) and a plush «Movie Room» with bean bags that you could lay on for hours. Even though our appointment was at 2pm, they saw us immediately. The exam rooms are bright and «themed» — pirate, dragons, underwater, Harry Potter, Star Wars… so awesome! Dr. Mekouar was thorough, professional, and explained everything in «layman’s term» so that we could understand what was going on with our daughter’s vision. I appreciated her warmth and approach with working with my daughter. If your child has an extensive eye problem that’s causing medical issues… it’s going to be hard to see the MDs, but if you need a WellVision Exam for your child to access whether they need glasses, definitely see Dr. Merkouar!

We brought our 7 month old and year old this week. The office is really impressive and the doctor and staff are wonderful. I would recommend this office to our friends and family.

Dr Epley is an AWESOME doctor! Ive known him since I was a kid— I am now turning 26! He has great answers to complex questions… He is always willing to spend the extra 15 minutes with a patient! He is also VERY GOOD at what he does!
He knows alot about his field… He is a great guy who loves his job! I consider him family!

I had to have surgery and of course, me, very high anxiety was probably not the best patient with all the questions I asked and the concerns I may have (or the parents) about the procedure. Dr. Epley took his time with me and answered every question and offered to talk to my parents on the phone to even walk them through it. I’ve never experienced a doctor that was so willing to give his time for his patients. Day of the surgery arrives and I’m one hot ball of nerves and he’s so encouraging and positive that my energy finally calmed down. He truly cares about his patients, a follow up call the evening of the surgery to make sure I was comfortable and alright.
I can’t repeat myself enough, Dr. Epley is really an incredible doctor and comes highly recommended. He is a true expert in his field and I am so happy with the outcome. THANK YOU!

Amazing doctor and staff. Smart, organized and takes time to listen and explain what is going on. One of the best doctors I’ve ever met, and I’ve met a lot of them.
You will definitely not go wrong by consulting with Dr. Epley if you or your child struggles with double vision/​strabismus.
