Met Eric for a haircut, very professional and great experience. The salon folks are very pleasant, made sure we had tea/​coffee and overall courteous. The location is right by the marina, would be nice on a warm day for a longer afternoon.

I have been a client of colorist, Kristy Swanson for over 20 years. I have followed her to Gem and love it. The salon is light and welcoming. Kristy is reliable and honest. She knows her trade and is most interested in what is best for your hair and will offer alternatives if she believes that your color needs a rest, change or even just a good cut. Her advice is never based on selling you a product or service but rather what will offer you the best results for healthy hair and looking and feeling your best. Kristy Swanson’s work is one thing I never worry about, her skills and dedication to detail is without question and I feel fortunate to have found her so many year ago!

I come here for one reason — my stylist Jeffrey, who I’ve been going to for 7+ years. He’s amazing. The salon itself has a great location right on Carillon Point, and the employees are nice enough. It could use some updating.

Kristin is awesome! I was at the salon for an event and didn’t even have an appointment to get my hair done, but she had a few extra minutes and effortlessly whipped up the most amazing style! I’ve got a few special events this summer and I’m definitely going to make sure to book an appointment with her that day!

This salon is amazing. I have had my hair cut, and my hair foiled for color by different people and each experience was amazing.
To start, the salon wants to ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable so they greet you warmly and offer you tea or water. They give you a nice quality robe to wear over your clothing to get more relaxed. Then your stylist walks you through what you will be getting for the visit in a very professional and welcoming way.
The owner is there most days and he is always checking on the guests of stylists to ensure they are getting great service. He is very energetic, worldly and knowledgeable of many things (you can have a conversation with him on just about anything and he adds a lot of value to the discussion). He is also amazing at cutting hair.
Monica has been dying my hair, and she is fantastic. She loves to travel so feel free to ask her about any of her fun and/​or interesting voyages. She has by far dyed my hair color better than any stylist I have had over the past 10 years. She is flawless and does a great job of describing how to keep the color looking fresh over the coming months.
I highly recommend this salon to anyone. Although pretty pricey, it is worth every penny.

Apryl. End of story. She is amazing. Not only does she always get the color and cut that is most flattering to me for my coloring and the season, she is FAST! I think that means she is just really good at what she does. I always have great results, and she is also a super fun person to talk to!

Lauren Brady and Kristen Shea did an amazing job both coloring and cutting my hair. I switched hair dressers after years and am happy that I did. Super clean, very nice staff and great service. Definitely continuing with both Lauren & Kristen.

I bought an Amazon Local deal for a haircut and style from Kristin Shea and she was really great. She made me feel really comfortable and gave me a great cut and style. I highly recommend getting a haircut from Kristin. Also, the salon is right on one of the marinas in Kirkland. The salon validated my parking and I got to enjoy a really great view on my walk from the garage to the salon. They also had a ton of cute little restaurants and business in the same area.

Just went to GEM Salon in Kirkland. It was such a chic and clean salon, right next to the Woodmark in carillon point. I saw Apryl who gave me balayage highlights and taught me a new way to dry my hair so I get the fresh-​from-​the-​beach look. I absolutely love it! She was super sweet too. :) I would totally recommend her to anyone looking for pretty highlights or a haircut. She knew exactly what to do with my (almost) waist length hair that went in really damaged and came out feeling healthy and moisturized. She also didn’t pressure me into anything I didn’t want to do. I really appreciate someone who will listen to exactly what I want and doesn’t push me into anything I’m not happy with. Those are definitely qualities that Apryl has.
I know where I’m going from now on! I trust her completely with my hair. :)

GEM is a fine salon in a nice location that makes the trip a very pleasant diversion. The salon itself is really nothing special but the staff is terrific and my favorite stylist in the world here, so the salon works for me. There are bigger and fancier places in the area that really pamper their customers but GEM does a great job for a small venue. Depending on what you’re looking for, GEM might just work for you. Either way, they’ll validate your parking which is pretty cool.

LOVE the staff, LOVE the location and LOVE LOVE my hair! Kelly is super sweet and an excellent stylist. My number one choice for the Mrs. Washington Pageant!

I’ve been seeing Kelly for about a year now and have gone in for services from blowouts to colors to eyelash extensions! She is always friendly and tailors the service to my needs and my vision.

When I moved from Arizona, I was afraid I wasn’t going to find a hair girl as great as mine, but after a co-​worker suggested Lauren and Kristen at Gem Salon, I discovered two great women who do great hair!
I go to Lauren first for color, and she is great! I love that I can get the right color, even if I don’t give her the best directions. Last time I got all over color, highlights and a deep conditioning treatment and WOW my hair is super shiny and the color is PERFECT. This girl knows her stuff.
Kristen is the best at cutting hair. I have curly hair that I’m trying to grow out and I always want to avoid the triangle head of hair, she trims it up and makes it look great and I would send any curly girl to her. Her blow outs are great too, and even on a misty rainy Seattle day, my blow out remained sleek and smooth for two days. I’ve seen some of her up-do’s leave Gem Salon too, and although I’ve never gotten one done, I can tell you, they look amazing!
So if you’re looking for great color, see Lauren, if you’re looking for a great cut or updo see Kristen, and for the best head of hair on earth, see them both in the same day, you won’t regret it :)

This is a great salon at a great location. It is a bit pricey. You do get what you pay for though. I saw Apryl for a keratin treatment. She is so gentle and she made my hair look absolutely fantastic. I have super curly hair, and I walked out with soft, shinny, straight locks. I can’t wait to see what my hair looks like in a few days. She was very pleasant too.
Everyone at the salon was very nice, and the stylists were giving lots of tips to clients like quick tips to cover grays between appointments. They seem to really know and care about hair. It is a bit ritzy since it is at Carillon Point in Kirkland, but Apryl is totally down to earth. It was worth every penny. They also validate parking tickets, so bring it you if you park in one of the lots or the garages.
The views of Lake Washington in area are great and there is a Starbucks right close by if you need a pick me up before or after.

I have been seeing Stephen Kyle for over 8 years now. I have followed him and will continue to follow him whereever he goes. I dont trust anyone else with my color or cuts. He always does beautiful honey highlights and my hair never feels damaged or overprocessed and always feels healthy. I always get compliments on my cuts.
Both my mom and I agree that GEM salon is our most favorite salon we have followed Stephen to. The salon is gorgeous and upscale, I can valet my car right in front of salon, and I am always treated well by the staff there. You would think it would feel like a snobby salon cause its so nice but I always feel welcome.

After moving out of Seattle I needed a new salon closer to home in Bellevue. My friend recommended Gem and I was happy to find Taffina. I have several cowlicks near my forehead and she was able to cut bangs that work and are extremely easy to do each morning.
I will definitely be going back for a cut and color with Taffina.

Lauren ‚(formally Kyi at Gene Juarez) is just joining the team at Gem.
I have been seeing Lauren for YEARS and have NEVER been disappointed with my color!!! I completely trust her with my hair and love how she always has new ideas of how we can continue to keep my color within the latest trends.
I send all of my friends and family with no hesitation at all as I know she will take amazing care of their hair. Please go see her you will not be disappointed!!!

Reese aka Kristin or Krissy is new to Gem. I’ve been seeing her under the auspice of Reese at Gene Juarez Salon for YEARS. I’m so happy to support her in her move to Gem. She has seen me through weak and brittle hair and brought it back to strong and healthy! I moved to California in 2000 and have attempted to find someone that can cut my thin straight hair and have had horrible luck. I’ve had to fly back to Washington to have her save it multiple times.
I literally will be bring her pictures or just tell her to wing it and I’ve never been dissatisfied. I’ve received MANY compliments on my hair from people of all ages.
Her pricing is great!!! I’m getting married next year in California and will have Reese to do all of the bridal parties hair.

My wife and I have been going to Cori for the past 6 or 7 years, first at Kaboom in Bellevue then Coup Roki and the other place in Belletown whose name escapes me right now.
Before meeting Cori getting a haircut was always a bit stressful because I never found anyone I trusted to do a good job. Most stylists really could care less about their clients, they just want to move bodies through their chair.
With Cori I the thought of a bad haircut never even enters my mind. She is just one of those people who have integrity and take pride in what they do, never settling for anything less than perfect. You know people like that where you work… they are the ones you trust to really get things done and done well.
I can’t really speak for the rest of the stylists at GEM, the receptionists are always nice and I have never had issues with scheduling. The salon is in Carillon Point and you can get your parking validated so be sure to take your ticket with you.
If you decide to go… tell Cori that «Fir Tree» sent you. Seriously, she will think it is funny.
