Gene & Irene Wockner Hospice Center

My brother was recently in this incredible facility and passed away there. The treatment that my brother and the family received here was extraordinary, especially from the overnight RN Michele, she was an absolute angel. She was instrumental in his care and pain management right up until the end and then was so helpful in what the next steps were upon his passing. She was extremely helpful’ supportive and caring through everything. She is truly a shining star to her profession. I am so thankful that she was there.

Our family was unable to provide my dad the comfort he needed in his final days of life. He suffered from Mesothelioma and his breathing became so difficult for him. After he was transferred to the Gene and Irene Hospice Center, they provided the proper medication and care that made an immediate difference in dads comfort level. Me and my siblings were able to stay with dad 24 hours a day until he peacefully passed away three days later. We are forever grateful for the care, support, compassion and dignity that this hospice center provided for our family. The facility is clean, peaceful and beautiful. We were so blessed to be able to walk with dad his last few miles into eternity this way.

I have never been surrounded by so much love and caring as I had at Evergreen Hospice Center. Every day I found a new place to reflect, phone or talk with others. My wife, daughter, siblings and their spouses, children and grand children, relatives and friends all found peace and solace there. My mom was taken care with the greatest of care, dignity and understanding. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure everyone stayed comfortable. Being around family for five days could be an issue, but in this setting, peace and love abounded. Thank you so much.

My father recently spent the last 10 days of his life at this beautiful and comforting hospice center. His care was amazing and his death was with dignity and grace. The nurses and caregivers as well as the social workers made my father so peaceful and helped our family through this painful process. I will be always grateful for the love and support my father and my family received during this difficult time. Thank you so very much.

My mom was transferred to this incredibly beautiful and serene hospice center and somehow in the care of the wonderful staff and volunteers improved enough to be transferred to a great adult family home. Both staff and volunteers at this hospice center are true angels. My family is eternally indebted.
The Gene & Irene Wockner Hospice Center is the only freestanding hospice center in King and Snohomish counties.
The beautiful Cape Cod-​style facility was designed to be as home-​like as possible, consistent with safety, security and excellent medical care.
The Center’s 15 private patient rooms include sleeping spaces for visitors, a private bath with shower, TV and a wardrobe closet. Each room opens to an outdoor patio with a view of the park-​like gardens. The gardens include a lush courtyard with a waterfall, a children’s play area and walking paths through the rose and alpine gardens.
Families and friends can visit at any time, and children are very welcome. The comfortable family rooms throughout the Center are furnished with sofas and chairs, TV, desks, and telephones. The main family room has a children’s corner designed to offer little ones comfort and a place to play.

Each wing also has a full kitchen, which allows families to cook special meals if they so choose.
The Center is named for Gene and Irene Wockner, whose initial support provided the resources needed to research and plan for the Center. The Wockner family’s generosity continues to provide for Evergreen Hospice Services.
