The guys who did my hair cut was bad and mean, Iam never ever going back again, totally dissapointed. hate this place.

This is for the Groupon deal for women’s ways/​cut/​style.
So, when I saw all the reviews, I immediately regretted buying the Groupon, but guess what. I loved my haircut. Isn’t that all that matters in the end?
Yes, for the location, the salon does seem a little shabby. But Ken did a wonderful job on my haircut. Honestly, I have very thick, frizzy Asian hair that isn’t easily tamed. I’ve had previous experienced stylists find it impossible to produce what I want: layers to frame my face, nice bangs and reduce the look of my hair volume.
Ken may seem a little removed when he’s working on your hair, but he sure does a good job with it. Don’t get off-​put by the atmosphere. Objectively, haircut alone, I’d return. He does a really good job.
And no, I didn’t get paid/​asked for the review.
Update: I recently moved to NJ and have visited some nice salons out here for haircut jobs and it does not live up to the job Ken did. He really did a fantastic job. Now my hair is choppy and I have it in a pony tail all the time. If I were back in the 425, I would totally go back in a heart beat. It’s a shame.

Here’s another one for the thumbs down column: the haircut itself was just fine, but the post-​service interactions with this merchant leave me 100% confident this is not a respectful or ethical business and I won’t be returning.
When I went to pay (via Groupon), the clerk, a young Asian woman who was more focused on her smartphone than working the register, told me I owed another $ 2 for tax. The amount was negligible, but I had 2 issues: I’d never paid tax on top of a haircut before, and the amount didn’t seem like a true calculation of our 9.8% tax rate. But I was in a hurry and paid it. Later, I left feedback about this on Groupon. The merchant responded back with poor grammar and multiple exclamation marks. They don’t have the slightest idea what constitutes customer service.
By the way, the comments about the place looking like a low end, Super Cuts establishment are spot on. You can do So. Much. Better.

Went there because I got a groupon for a haircut. Made an appt, ended up with the woman who works there (forgot her name). Haircut was good and she was friendly without being overbearing, which I greatly appreciated. I tipped well because I liked her.
That said, I won’t be returning. I didn’t see any kind of sterilization/​cleaning process between people. Also, groupon users, be aware that they will still charge you a «tax» of $ 2. Fine, whatever, I can deal. But the guy who was there was incredibly rude. From reading the other reviews I’m guessing it was Ken. Don’t quote me on that tho. He sat there ignoring me when he was done cutting someone’s hair. My appt ended up being a little late b/​c the woman had to finish her client, but it was never explained to me why he was just sitting there. I thought he was just ignoring me, and he kept giving me weird looks, like I bothered him by being in his store.
A woman came in while I was waiting for my appt, wanted haircuts for her two sons. Boy haircuts do not take as long, and they were both done before mine was done. But Ken acted like they were wasting his time. The one kid wasn’t sure how short he wanted to go on top (the sides were already done). They tried taking off an inch, and he decided he wanted a little more cut. It became this huge deal with the guy holding the scissors saying things like «I don’t want to keep cutting and cutting because it wastes my time.» Sorry man, they were your only customers in the store, and you were straight up nasty to them. You don’t argue with paying customers like that, you are part of a service industry, and they were not provided good service. The kid ended up unhappy with his cut, but unwilling to argue with you. I hope they «accidentally» forgot to tip you. Won’t be back, and it is almost entirely due to you.

I used their living social deal, for haircut, wash and style. They took me in even though i was 5 mins late which was good. The place smelled of cigarette smoke the whole time, and it lacked cleanliness throughout the studio. The person who did my haircut was fairly okay but it felt half-​hearted. They charged me for styling my hair inspite of it being a part of the deal. They seem to use low grade products. I had to ask the stylist to use an appropriate product to protect my hair during styling. This flustered the stylist and was not sure what to do. After the cut the stylist did not even care to show me what it looked like, until asked. I was not happy with my experience and will not return to this salon.

I recently moved to the area and am looking for a good stylist. I tried this salon and it was the lady that works there. I wanted the back of my hear stacked and the sides to follow that line as long as I could clip the sides up. Well she claimed to have 20 years experience and couldn’t get the hair cut right. Ken the owner tried to fix it. and made it better in the back but the side are not right. Unbelievable!!! Now I’m trying to find a stylist that I can go to that knows what they are doing??? ANY RECOMMENDATIONS!!!

If you get the Groupon, you get what you pay for. They did a decent job of my hair, they where nice, and professional. Would I go back, maybe, was not whelmed. I would not pay full price for the service, thought it would be more upscale because of location but meh. I got what I went for and so the three stars.

I have visited the place just once for a hair cut and i had a pretty good experience!
I hadn’t seen great reviews of this place. However I had a 20 $ groupon for haircut, shampoo and blow dry. So, I decided to try this place on a weekend.
The place surely doesn’t boast of good interiors or ambiance. But it is clean. My stylist was Linda. She wasn’t very fluent in English, but very patiently listened to what I had to say and cut my hair accordingly. I was really happy with my haircut!
Without the groupon, hair cuts are 40 $. Still on the reasonable side. But if you have a groupon deal, it is a steal!

I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews of this place! Ken has been cutting my hair for several years now and I’ve always been so happy with the results. I even make it a point to drive half an hour to see him instead of going to a hairstylist closer by my home. He’s a nice and friendly guy who puts a lot of time into making sure you’re happy with your haircut.

It may not be the most chic salon but Ken is a master stylist. He gets it right every time! I love my hair. I sent a friend as well and she loves her hair cut as well. I have been to several salons in Kirkland with just so-​so results and spent twice as much.

The men’s haircuts I saw while I was there all turned out really nicely, but mine was definitely not what I wanted. The lady who cut my hair was nice enough, but hard to understand at times. I wouldn’t go back. For the value of the groupon I got, it was fine, but def. would never pay full price for this place. Regis charges about the same and does much better.

This review is mainly «hairdresser specific» (Scott) … the salon is like any of a multitude of salons. No frills, really, which is fine by me. There are some chairs at the front for a waiting area and it looked like maybe a jar of peanuts randomly placed for your snacking needs? I didn’t partake. I was greeted by my stylist and interacted only with him so I can’t speak to much else.
I’ll just give ya the brass tacks: Scott is an outgoing young man with a great disposition who treats hair styling (and washing!) like an art form. He listens to what you want done to your ‘do, asks for clarifications if needed, then he does what you ask. I’m very pleased with my hair… what else can I say?

I was just looking for a haircut and they happened to have a groupon. I was totally satisfied with the hair cut I received, and mostly just LOVED the lady that cut me hair. she was HILARIOUS. Would I go back here again? No, but thats only because I have other hairstylists I would like to try. But if you are in the area, need a quick cut at a reasonable price, this place isn’t too bad. Just know, it isn’t for everyone.

I have been trying to find a new place to get my hair done ever since my stylist moved. I’ve been using Groupons and I had a Groupon for this place so I thought I’d give it a shot. I didn’t really need a haircut (which is what the Groupon was for) so I emailed and asked if I could use the Groupon towards a partial foil instead. Ken emailed me back (the owner?) and told me I could have $ 20 off the foil (the price I paid for the Groupon).
I made my appointment for my partial foil. The stylist I had did an okay job. A little too blond for my tastes, but not awful. She then asked if she could «clean up the ends» so I said yes, after making it very clear at the beginning of the process that I did NOT want a cut. I’m trying to grow out my hair.
When I went to pay, Ken charged me for the full price of the foil. I reminded him of the email about getting $ 20 off for the Groupon and he said the Groupon paid for my cut. I said I didn’t have a cut – only a trim and looked over at my stylist. She pretended not to hear the conversation and didn’t say a word. I was pissed.
I went on my way and will not return. If they are using Groupon to get new clients, they certainly did not earn my business this way…

I had previously reviewed this store and the owner asked me to remove my review of the poor operating procedures here. I did remove it and wish I didn’t. I really dont know why I removed it, maybe I felt bad for the business, oh well.
My first rating of a one star for this establishment stands. The biggest reason is this place gives similar cuts at Great Clips, but acts like a 5 star Aveda Resort in their ads.
Every time I see a Groupon for here I cringe for all who buy it. My advice is to avoid this place, it is not a spa setting as they try to proclaim and I question the integrity of their google ratings. Why would Unilocal be low and google have tons of great ones?

So perhaps this isn’t a valid review since I didn’t even go in the door, but I was planning to and just couldn’t. It looked like a Great Clips with higher prices. Nothing appealing about this salon there are many more in the area that are much better. The stylists might be amazing, but I highly recommend spicing the place up a bit. More people might be interested in coming in the door. Food for thought.

I’ve been to this salon twice, going again soon. My teenage daughter, who is VERY picky about her hair was finally happy with her haircut and style. Annelise is the stylist we see and she is great. She’s very outgoing, listens to what you say, but then uses her eye for trend and style and creates a masterpeice. The prices are standard for the area.

I’ve come here twice to get my hair done. First, I had Martha and she was super nice and really friendly and did a great job on my hair (just a trim and styling from a Groupon I purchased). I came here for a second time with another Groupon in hand and got my hair partially-​foiled (with some red color) and a styling done by Ken. The color was good, but he didn’t get all the way to my roots so it looked like the color had already grown out.
Overall, the stylists are very nice, but the prices are way too high for what they offer. The only reason I have gone there twice is because they have a Groupon special for a $ 20 haircut (originally $ 40). The prices are too high for the quality of service they offer.
