Josh’s Auto Detail

I took my car to Josh today because the whole front end was covered with bugs after a two week road trip. Josh got rid of all the bugs and made my car look like it was brand new. Even though it cost me a bit of money, I could not be happier.

Buyer Beware! Do not take dark vehicles to Josh. I am not big on writing reviews (this being the second Unilocal review in my life) but feel compelled to warn others. I am new to the area and chose to have my new vehicle detailed by Josh based on 100% perfect reviews here on Unilocal.I hate to rain on his parade but this is by far the worst auto detail you can buy.
I took my Dark Dark Green almost Black 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland to Josh with significant swirl marks from car washes and poor dealer washes. I met with Josh and his partner and showed them the swirl marks that I wanted removed and finished with wax. They agreed to remove the swirl marks, buff out the entire vehicle, apply a coat of wax, and do a mini detail on the interior for $ 250 + tax. When I picked up the car it dark out so the car was parked in Josh’s carport with fluorescent and halogen lights shinning bright. The car looked shiny and great! I happily paid and left. The next day the sun was out and I about sh*t my pants… buffer polish marks and halos all over the entire vehicle. He did a great job removing the car wash swirl marks but put so many polish marks and halos in the paint that it looked 10X worse. I immediately called Josh and explained the situation. He asked me to bring the car in after telling me over the phone that the person who detailed the car before must have done a bad job and it wasn’t his fault. After viewing the car, he agreed to buff out the entire vehicle again and said that it «needed more wax».
When I picked up the car the second time (at no cost) it looked marginally better but the sun was not out. I was able to get a little light on one panel and pointed out the buff marks to him. He again said that he didn’t do it and if I wanted it perfect I should have the car painted? WFT? This is a 2014 top of the line Grand Cherokee with awesome paint but now the clear coat is all dicked up! I told him I wanted the car to look like it had been waxed, like glass. He suggested that I bring it to him every 6 months to buff the paint and eventually it will get better. Since then I went to a professional and got a real opinion. It is going to cost me upwards of $ 400 to have the halos and polish marks removed. What a joke!
Josh was very busy telling me about how great he is, how much experience he has, how he uses the best wax and does the best job. I should have gone to a real company that knows what they are doing. I didn’t plan on spending more money to fix his mistake. The second detail shop that I went to said he used the wrong buffer, with a dirty pad and did a very poor job. Luckily it’s not a big deal to fix, just more money and another day without my vehicle.
Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I’ve had great service here when I dropped off my girlfriends car to have it detailed. They clearly spent a lot of time removing the extra dog hair thats built up over the past 3 years in the trunk because we picked it up and there wasn’t a hair to be found. They do charge an extra $ 50 for excess dog hair but its well worth it if you have any pets that spend time in your car. The detail was extremely thorough inside and out and they ended up spending an extra 2 hours after their normal closing to make sure they got everything perfect which really left a good impression. Once the rain stops I’ll definitely be dropping my car off here for a detail as well.
They really went over every inch of the car and pointed out the spots where there were chips in the paint that they had to be careful on.
I did try to contact them through their website first but never received a reply, email or phone, so it was much easier to call them directly and tell them what car and detail I needed.

Josh is pretty much the nicest guy you’d ever meet and he does a great job. I’ve had my wife’s Audi Q5 detailed with Josh twice and he’s taken great care of it. This is a small business and you get treated like a friend as much as a customer, even if you’re a first time customer.

Brought in a very dirty car. Came out perfect. Josh was very dedicated, and a couple of young (20 something) helpers were very courteous.

I took my 9-​year-​old Lexus to Josh this week. It was tired on the outside from years of living in the mountains without a garage and stained on the inside from years of spilled coffee. My car is now 9 years young. Looks like new inside and out! Josh did a great job!

I’ve just had an excellent experience with Josh. He came highly recommended by previous reviewers here so I gave him a go and was delighted. Josh clayed, buffed and polished up my old Saab after serious neglect (10+ years) by previous owners with spectacular results. He over-​delivered by doing more than I asked for because he is obsessed with getting a good result. Many thanks Josh!

I took my Lexus to Josh to detail it before I sold it. When I got it back from him it looked so good I decided to keep it.
Josh is a master detailer in the same way Holly Smith is a master chef at Juanita Café. There may be bigger detail operations in the same way there are bigger restaurants — but if you’re talking about dedication to a craft and all attendant skills to perform at a high level, then you want to go to Josh in the same way you want the best when you go to Holly’s top-​ranked restaurant.
The typical detail shop business model is to give a young, low-​paid worker a power buffer and set him loose on your car, letting him learn as he goes, practicing as it were, on your car. That’s why you see cars come from detail shops with horrid swirl marks and grievous paint burns on the body lines.
Josh’s Auto Detail is not like that. Josh is it. Just him. You get all his skill and experience at work in your detail, whether it’s a resurrection (bringing your car back from the dead like mine), or a quick wash.
I honestly don’t know how he does it. My alloy wheels had brake dust like most. I had tried the various wheel cleaning sprays from O’Reilly’s, in combination with a wire brush and the high-​pressure sprayer at the Brown Bear. Sure it helped, but it was nothing compared to what Josh was able to do — essentially give me back new wheels.
The paint has the deep rich lustre it came from the factory with. Even the window glass is cleaner than I thought it could ever be again. We need to face it folks, our Windex just can’t do what Josh can do.
Have you ever watched a magic trick and then immediately wanted to see it again? It’s kind of bizarre I admit, but I almost want my car to get all dull and lifeless again just to see Josh’s magic.
One last comment, and that’s about price. Josh is not the cheapest guy out there. I considered one of the mobile detailers after I’d seen a SUV he’d done. The mobile guy’s price seemed like a bargain.
Josh was a bit more. Or so I would have thought had I not seen all the extra work Josh did, beyond what I was expecting. The bottom line line for me is did I receive value? It absolutely was worth every dollar I spent. I’m 58 years old and have had lots of cars detailed…

Since I usually shop for services based on people’s reviews, I thought I’d post one here to let you know about the service I received today as Josh’s Auto Detail.
I came to see Josh last week and brought him my car to look at. I only wanted the exterior done. My white 13 yr old Honda has lived in a variety of climates including Florida and AZ and has almost 200K miles on it. The paint was definitely showing it’s age. I asked him to get the paint as good as possible and then protect the heck out of it. So I dropped it off to him today to get the work done.
I just picked it up. Josh totally did a great job and went beyond what I asked. He cleaned the interior, washed the car mats and even went around my car with touch-​up paint to cover all the chips that were now much more visible with all the other stuff removed from the paint. NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!
It looks fabulous and I’ll be taking my car back in 6 months to do it again. Very reasonable with his pricing too!
Highly recommend Josh. He has great customer service too. You can tell he cares about what he does.

After a 3 day road-​race with 6 sweaty and dirty adults, plus soccer, baseball, skiing and the normal grossness of two little kids eating in the car, etc. my SUV was in desperate need of a serious scrub on the inside! Desperate!
I can’t stop showing it off to my friends and I don’t cringe when I get it in it or have to drive someone else around. It’s like new! It wasn’t this clean when I picked it up from the dealer! Josh did and AMAZING job and after trying other, high-​end detail shops, I will NOT go anywhere else. My husband’s car is next.

I will not go anywhere else! Josh pays great attention to detail and treats the vehicles like they are his own. I take both my Audi and my girlfriends Ford to him and will continue to make the 30 mile drive to get the cars to look as great as he makes them look.

My 2002 Tahoe was very neglected, has never been waxed, and has been parked outside for the last two years. We’re busy, and the car hasn’t had the TLC that I’d like. Took it to Josh for the works yesterday, and WOW!!! It’s the most amazing thing! My car looks incredible! I don’t think it looked that good the day we bought it, new. Josh detailed every inch, inside and out, and even the engine. My husband and I are shocked, and now he wants to drive it! This is amazing service.

I took a filthy, sap covered car to Josh and got back a car I’ve never seen so clean and shiny and beautiful. He even gave me a loaner to use while he had my car! And he’s so friendly and pleasant. I’ll definitely take my car to him again and recommend him to everyone I know.
