The Good: 1) There’s a very positive vibe when you walk in the door. 2) The staff is awesome, friendly, and very approachable. The students are easy to get along with and eager to help you out on your first day. I went with the three day trial to check the place out while trying out several other Krav Maga Schools. 4) I definitely felt like I was getting a good workout and thought this was accurate in comparison to the other Unilocal reviews. 5) They have a lot of options to suit your needs if Krav Maga is not the only thing you’re interested in. Huge advantage depending on who you are. 6) They actually refer you to other schools in Krav Maga. I respect businesses that do this b/c it shows a sense of security. People who do this are far and few. :) The Bad: 1) I always check the instructors certifications stating they have the right to teach students what they know. I won’t name the main instructor, but this person did not have an up-to-date cert to teach Krav Maga. It expired on Jan. 24th2016. For me, this caused a major loss in both trust and credibility regarding the source backing their knowledge. People who place value on what they teach keep their certs up-to-date… 2) While checking out Krav Maga at another place in the area, I learned more in one day at that school than I did at Kirkland Krav Maga. 3) This school is also called«I love KickBoxing». To me this takes their focus away from teaching Krav Maga as a singularity. I didn’t leave the school feeling confident in what I learned. 4) I got bum rushed with a sales pitch after my first trial day. They wanted me to sign up before I was even ready to make a decision. Not cool… this strikes me as a way to lock people in before they are ready to do so. Suggestions: — Always check each instructors certifications before entering a contract or monthly plan. You should do so everywhere including your trainer at yoga or the gym. :) No point in paying if there’s no fruit on the tree in the area of what’s being taught. — Check out several other schools out to make sure you have the right fit for you. Never except their sale pitch after the first day unless you’re 110% sure. Allow yourself time to think/reflect before making a decision. — Think about what focus you want regarding your interest in fighting style. If you’re focus is Krav Maga, I’d suggest going to another school that matches that in what and how they teach. Conclusion: Is the money you pay worth the knowledge they teach you. Absolutely not(again my opinion). Going to another gym for cardio workouts at $ 70 with some basic fighting classes would be similar to what I experienced at Kirkland Krav Maga when comparing to other schools. They price their monthly contract at about $ 115 – 130(Don’t remember exactly, may have changed). What I learned in one day at the other school felt as if it would take 4 – 5 days to learn at Kirkland Krav Maga. Kirkland Krav Maga is great for an awesome cardio workout, but for learning Krav Maga,… that would be a solid no. Again, this is my personal opinion from comparing Kirkland Krav Maga to other Krav Maga schools using the my personally perceived value of their lessons and confidence in each of the instructors knowledge being taught to students. The two star rating is due mostly to the lack of up to date certs and feeling that the knowledge gained did not meet the price asked for. The certification issue is a huge red flag for me, which is main reason why I felt impelled to write this review in the first place. ******** This review is on Krav Maga only. Use this as you will, if at all. :) Do your own homework… ********

I was initially hesitant and later thought to give it a try as I found a Groupon. But after I checked into this place and spoke to Lee, I was really amazed and joined immediately. Staff is very welcoming and it got great instructors. Training is a real fun and easy to stick to the schedule since its a group activity instead of a boring solo workout session in a gym.

I went to their free women’s krav maga workshop today and it was just a blast. Jamie and Lee led it and they were so stinkin cute but also fantastic instructors. We learned how to break out of attacks about 8 different ways, shared lots of laughs, and broke into a sweat! I’m going back for their 3 class promo and we’ll see where it goes from there!

Krav Maga Kirkland is amazing! Not only have my self defense skills improved greatly, but my cardio and strength have improved tremendously as well in just a few months. The classes have also made me mentally tougher and I am able to keep going when my body feels like giving up. Being a law enforcement officer, this is invaluable! I would recommend Krav Maga Kirkland to anyone looking to improve their self defense skills or to those looking for an awesome workout.

Self-Defense is always important. One never knows what’s going to happen in life, but taking the lessons taught in these classes provides confidence. However, not only do we learn Krav Maga self-defense, but classes are a great workout. The instructors put in a great mix of fitness training with the knowledge of how to protect yourself.

I have started many workout routines over the years but can never manage to stick with them for one reason or another(typically because they get boring). When I looked into Krav, I was way out of shape and looking for something different, something I could do without making my doctor mad since I had just had a total knee replacement 18 months before. I decided to give Kirkland Krav Maga a try because I was told I could modify the workout as needed to protect my knee and I’m now 6 months in and look forward to going every time. I would highly recommend this class for anybody who wants to get into shape and have fun doing it. Or, if you’re already in shape, just come for the fun of it!

I got sick of going to the gym to run on a treadmill and lift weights. I needed to do something active that I’d actually enjoy and thought about martial arts. I also wanted something practical that I could use in real life situations. Everything I found pointed to Krav Maga as being the most effective form of self defense you can learn, after all it’s used by the Israeli Defense Forces daily. It’s fairly quick and easy to learn but can take a long time to master. A quick Google search landed me on their website and I’m glad it did! Rocky, Ryan, and Lee are all awesome teachers! Practicing Krav Maga and yoga, along with a lot of discipline about what I eat, has helped me drop over 65 pounds in the last 9 months. The weight loss, increased physical fitness, and confidence knowing I can protect myself and my children, should the need arise, has me feeling better than I ever have in my life. Thank you Kirkland Krav Maga!

I’ve been attending classes as often as I can for the last 5 months and I’m learning new things in each time and getting in continually better shape. Make no mistake, if you join and put the effort into pushing yourself physically and listen with an open mind to the techniques you’ll improve physically and psychologically. Give the trial membership an honest chance and you’ll be hooked.

Kirkland Krav Maga is a great place to learn some incredibly valuable self defense techniques. The instructor Rocky is a great guy who is very knowledgeable and patient with his students. He never makes you feel bad if you are a little slow to learn, and he’s happy to answer any questions. His wife Grace and the rest of the staff are also super nice and friendly, and always make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.(There’s also some super hotties working here and in the classes too, but I digress). Every class mate I’ve partnered with in class have also been nice people. There’s no negative judgements or bad energy here. Just positive vibes:) The class can get a little hot, and on rare occasions a little too crowded, but those are minor complaints. All in all highly recommended! I hope to see you in class sometime soon:)

I love these krav maga classes! It is such a confidence booster, and an awesome way to get into shape. I really appreciate the instructor, Rocky, who is very involved in what he’s teaching us, quick to answer questions, or offer hands on help. I feel comfortable with the other students in the class, who are also welcoming, encouraging, and awesome at helping me out when I need it!

I’ve been doing Krav Maga here for almost 3 months, and I love it! Not only is it a great workout, but you learn such great self defense skills. I started looking for a martial arts studio in the area because I have been assaulted at work before, and I wanted to be able to hold my own if it happens again. The skills that the instructor, Rocky, has taught me make me feel much more confident, not only at work but in my day to day life. There is a great group of people who do the krav classes, and they range from experts who have been doing it for years, to people who are first timers, and everyone is extremely nice and welcoming! I highly recommend this place. They also offer kickboxing and karate through their studio.
