Saw Dr Maurer for plantar’s fasciitis issues over the course of 8 months. Today I walked out of the exam room after waiting for an hour with no sign of Dr Maurer. This is not the first time he kept me waiting for a long period of time, but this time it was a complete hour, plus I had dragged my 8-hr-old daughter with me. As we left room, I could see Dr Maurer turning the corner at the end of the hall, so he was most definitely not on his was to my exam room. Who knows how much longer he would’ve kept me waiting. When I checked in, there was an empty waiting room. There looks to be only 6 – 8 exam rooms – many of their doors open when I was assigned mine. All my previous exams(except for maybe the initial assessment) have lasted 10 minutes or less. Given the empty waiting rooms, open exam rooms, and Dr Maurer’s average time spent with patients, the math is not adding up to making a patient wait an hour. Maybe if I was a Seahawks or Sounders player instead of a 40-yr-old ‘nobody’, I’d have gotten standard treatment.

Dr. Maurer is excellent at what he does. He performed a second surgery on my previously broken ankle. He removed plates, pins and scar tissue giving my my mobility back. He was patient, listened to me a person, answered my questions, explained the procedure that he was going to perform — giving me the full range of best and worst case scenarios. He was very thorough in his explanations and alleviated any concerns I had. His staff is excellent as well. Thank you Dr. Maurer.
