Massage Envy

We surprised our son for his 12^th birthday to a massage. He plays sports year round and had been asking for a massage for 2 years. Since he’s a minor my husband and I were told we need to stay with him during massage. This was fine because we didn’t feel he should be alone. The staff at the front desk were nice. Our masseuse Christopher was awful I have to say! Our son enjoyed the massage which was our goal but Christopher had zero bedside manner with my husband and I. There was no chair for us to sit while our son for his massage and Christopher made no attempt to make us feel comfortable and even told my husband who was sitting on the floor to move. I might add again we wanted to be in the room with our son but it is also massage envys policy to have parents accompany minors so you would think they would be at least remotely nice. What makes it all worse is our older daughter was sitting in waiting room and after our sons massage Christopher came out and was talking trash about us to the receptionist. He was laughing and reported being annoyed that the parents were sitting on floor and he wasn’t going out of his way to get a chair. I would not ever go back to Christopher because he’s unprofessional. My son did love his massage and that was our main goal so I do recommend massage envy just stay clear of Christopher.

I went to see Robert yesterday and was so pleased having never had a massage from him before. He did a fantastic job working on my chronic back issue. I walked out of there feeling like my shoulders had dropped about 2 inches. He raised the bar for me when it comes to massages!

Was excited to set up an appointment this Friday at 12pm, but the lady I spoke to on the phone made me repeat my phone number 3 times, and my credit card information 4 times. After the 4^th time, I pretty much gave up. Way to go to make my 1^st time experience horrible.

This turned out to be the worst company. One of there therapist left me in so much pain I need to go to the chiropractor the next day. It was horrible and they made no attempt to fix it. Then I want to cancel my membership because they turned out so awful and they did nothing but give me the run around. I ended up having to cancel my credit card.

This was my first massage and I was gifted it by my boyfriends mom. I had a relaxing experience and it really helped my shoulders! I was warm and comfortable the entire time and the staff at the front desk was very helpful as well and friendly. Very excited to come back!!!

The massages are great one you find the therapist that suits you best. The office staff is friendly and super helpful — and the member price is really reasonably ($ 50 for an hour, $ 75 for 90 min). They don’t have showers our a soda like Gene Juarez, but you also don’t pay those crazy prices. It’s very clean and well maintained.

I am a former member of Massage Envy and signed up for a 6-​month membership when a special offer was available. The massages were okay but it was obvious that many of them were starting out and getting their experience. I tried a few different people to see if there was a variety and overall, just should’ve stayed with my original massage person. Some of the problems happen at the front desk. Information doesn’t always «stay» in their system and some of the «incentives» just don’t seem to happen. I noticed alot of miscommunication and wound up paying more for services esp. when I booked 90 minutes trying to use a ½ hr carry over to my next massage. Either things weren’t explained well or I must be dense. If you’re not a member, there’s no reason to come here since the one time price is quite high. Facials are not offered at this location and I did try one at Redmond. They use Murad products but I don’t think it was good enough to switch for a massage. Juanita Village location, parking is tough.

I love Massage Envy. I have been a member here for 5 years. The variety of masseuses give you the option to choose your type of massage (deep tissue, relaxation, reflexology, etc). They are open everyday of the week and late on weeknights. The price is great compared to other spas in the area. I have had a few massages that did not meet my expectations over the years, but I just don’t go back to that masseuse. The concept of Massage Envy was genius!

Horrible experience. I was tempted by their membership plan, but WHY would I want to become a member of a place that doesn’t give a good massage. My masseuse was Mandy.
The massage was a gift from my husband, and I was looking for a place to relax. Well, that definitely didn’t happen. The masseuse spoke constantly throughout the massage. I kept my answers to a minimum hoping that she would get the hint — nope!
It was supposed to be a full body massage — she spent most of the time in one area and not all areas.
I don’t plan on returning at all. I still have money left of the gift card, but I’d rather let it go to waist than waste my time here.

Wow, does this place suck when you’re not a paying member! My wife and I were both members for several years and we had good experiences. The staff were nice and the therapists were skilled and friendly. Then, in 2013 they raised their rates by $ 10 an hour (for non-​monthly massages). The greatest part about being a member was the non-​monthly massages were reasonably-​priced (especially if you prefer 90 min sessions). The price increase came just as my wife and I had a baby. That’s just when you need more massages… but you need more money, more so; we had to cancel our memberships… Fast forward to my wife’s birthday and I wanted to get her a 90 minute massage. They tried to double charge us, they’re ridiculously expensive, they called my wife to «remind her» about her surprise massage (!) and they were generally jerks about the whole thing. Good thing there are so many good massage therapists in the area for lower hourly rates. Don’t worry about Massage Envy, there’re plenty of rich people in Kirkland they can take advantage of. They’ll be fine.

Fantastic customer service! Place is quaint and has great therapists, really love it, visit whenever I’m in town. I had a billing issue, the manager went beyond expectation to correct it, immediately! Never seen such care customers!
Would highly recommend going.

This will probably be my last visit. Massage Envy — please REQUIRE your therapists to keep their nails trimmed SHORT. There is nothing WORSE than feeling pokey finger nails scratching down my back or digging into my muscles. It completely negates the relaxation factor. As does chatting. When you say you’ve given me the «relaxation guru» — I am not expecting fingernails and a full conversation. Please take note and pass along.

I have a membership & have always been pleased. Courteous staff. Great massage therapists they can match to your needs. Convenient at making appts.
I typically get deep tissue combined with Swedish style to relax yet work out the kinks. Each therapist is different, but if you go in with the mindset that it’s stress therapy, you will always leave more than satisfied! ;) I even get a lymphatic drainage massage every now & then, which only a few therapists are trained in. I am always highly satisfied! Thank you Massage Envy for ironing out my stress!!! Highly appreciated. :)

I signed up for the membership plan and have been seeing Mark for a year. He is a gem of a character and an extremely talented massage therapist. As a qigong expert and a highly intuitive person, he is able to quickly find and focus on the areas of stress and tenseness. I always leave feeling like my body and mind have been restored.
The ME staff in Kirkland are always polite and courteous. They take great pride in customer service and make sure that the relaxing experience starts in the lobby.

Husband and I had our first massage in years yesterday and wow what a wonderful experience. We were so pleased we signed up for the membership and also booked for the next 2 months. I had Dana and she just rocked… if you want deep tissue she does it WELL… Hubby had Jennifer and from what he said it was amazing! Thank you for the experience.

I waited until my 3^rd massage here before I could give it a review and I can say that I’m very satisfied with the amazing customer service and massage therapy performed here. Every time I walk through the doors, I am greeted cheerfully by the front desk who go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable before your massage (offering tea and water). The rooms are very relaxing and calming. They have upgrade packages that are fitting for your needs (aromatherapy for deep relaxation, Biofreeze massages for your sore body, and sugar foot scrubs for your feet). I also love that they have late hours so you can squeeze in a relaxing massage and you can go home and get a good night’s sleep.
I work with Leah and she has the amazing ability to read your body and work on the areas where you feel tension and soreness. I carry a lot of stress in my neck and shoulders and before telling her how I felt there, she was able to touch my muscles and body and pointed it out so that I could concur with her. I do a lot of weightlifting, kickboxing, and running and Leah is great for giving me the special touch and work needed to keep my muscles loose and my body feels great after her massage. If you’re an athlete looking for a masseuse who is knowledgeable about the type of massage needed for your type of sport, Leah is great to go to!

As some of the previous Unilocalers stated it all depends on your masseuse. I have had really great massages and really bad massages here. Takes awhile to find the right person! But the price is really good.
I don’t like how this location’s waiting room is not separate form the check in desk. It’s hard to relax.

Having had around 100 massages here over the last few years, it’s sort of sad that I can give this place only three stars. The problem isn’t that they don’t have good therapists. They do. The problem is that they are in the minority. If you don’t know who to ask for (or if, like me, you like to try different therapists on each visit), it’s equally likely you’ll get a 1-​star or 5-​star massage. Thus my 3-​star rating.
On the «good» side are therapists like Heather (who is usually booked weeks in advance). She is strong like ox and has a great feel for what pressure to use where.
On the «bad» side are therapists like the one who gave me a massage with rubber gloves on (?!?), and politely requested to massage «my tummy.» Pro-​tip: Don’t let these swine massage your tummy. Nothing good will come of it.
In general, I’d recommend exercising great caution with the female therapists here. They have a number of weak ladies who resort to the dreaded elbow massage, which is inherently more difficult to maintain a uniform, relaxing pressure. The guys are usually fine, but you might find yourself visiting a handful of times before you find the one that exceeds «fine.» Take heart, they do exist — if you put in the legwork to find them.

The front desk staff is super young, rude, and entitled.
Here is a hint — do not sign up for the membership. Regardless of paying for the credits, they are not transferable unless you pay an additional $ 10 fee (per credit — keep in mind you’ve already paid $ 60 for it) AND if you cancel your membership, they remove the credits you’ve already acquired. It’s total fraud.
ALSO as other folks said, it’s like every massage therapist is right out of school. I’ve not had an amazing massage here. Ladies, please skip this place all together and go to Hot House on Cap Hill. Massage Envy is awful.

Front Desk service is ZERO star. The skilled hands are a 4-​stars. For the skilled hands sake, it’s an overall 3-​stars. I know I will leave this place as soon as the selected hands disappeared.
As I check in each time, the rep. will say «Would you like to check out?» Meaning, pay up before the service. «NO! Because I just check in.» How annoying! There are different ways to ask this question but they are just not delicate about this. After all, this is a delicate business? No? After I told the rep that my account is a prepaid account. The rep said, «Would you like to pay of the gratuity now?» «NO!!!» I will tip according to the level of service I received. I will tip after the service. Damn it. They just have no class or just simple common sense.
Other times, two of the front desk staff are so interested in chatting with another person in front of the counter. I felt like a side kick as one of them checked me in without looking at me and totally ignore my present and question.
The only good thing is the selected skilled hands.
On the front, it is a disaster with customer experience.
