If I could give zero stars, I would. After a two and a half week wait for an appointment, they repair person spent less than 20 minutes at my house and diagnosed the dishwasher problem as an issue with the water valve not being opened all the way. I pointed out that didn’t make much sense because it hadn’t been touched since the new dishwasher was installed a few months ago, but he assured me that was the problem and proceeded to charge me $ 113 for the visit. He wasn’t even out of the driveway when the same error code came back again. When I called, he said perhaps the dishwasher was now getting too much water and to turn the valve back to where it was. He couldn’t come back out for a few more days, so I had a handyman fix the problem more timely. I politely requested that they not cash my check because they did nothing to diagnose or repair the problem, but of course, they never returned my message to discuss the issue and my check has now been cashed. They were happy to take my money even though I received zero in exchange. Stay away.

My dishwasher broke down and was out of warranty. They gave us a great price for repair and was very happy with the work they did. I believe the owner’s name is Todd Olson, who came to do the job and was polite and passionate about appliances and doing the job right.

Very pleased with the service provided by Olson. I was told the repairman would arrive between noon and 5, and he was here by 1, with a call beforehand. He quickly diagnosed the cause of the problem I was having with my washer — something easy to resolve. (I should have figured it out myself.) He also offered some tips on how to get the most from the machine. No charge for the visit — the washer was still on warranty.

LOVE Olson Appliance! They have taken care of my refrigerator warranty issues with optimum grace as well as furnace maintenance and updates. They’re always easy to book, are very professional, with fantastic service, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them!

Colin and Todd from Olson Appliance assisted us with an oven warranty repair. Both of them were prepared, informed, courteous, conscientious, thorough, timely, and extremely professional. After a bad experience with a different company for the same problem, we had very low expectations for this visit. They changed our opinion immediately. They called to confirm the appointment, called when they were on their way, came at the agreed upon appointment time, and consistently delivered intelligent, complete diagnostics and repair. They consulted with the manufacturer’s tech service line when the problem was challenging, and did everything they could to fix our problem quickly. We didn’t even have to wait long for an appointment, even though they are extremely busy.
Bottom line, we’ll call them first, and use them again and again. If you need any appliance repaired, don’t waste your time with another company. Thanks, Colin and Todd! Hope we don’t need you again, but if we do.. .we’ll call!

I was very pleased with the service I received from Olson Appliance! Colin came for a Frigidaire warranty service call. He called 15 minutes before he arrived and was prompt and courteous. Within 15 minutes he was able to diagnose the issue with my washer. They were able to order the part and expedite the delivery so that my washer would be fixed in time for my vacation. He returned a few days later (after the weekend) with a coworker (Todd) and they were able to fix the washer quickly! Thank goodness! Each time I called into Olson Appliance, they confirmed my appointments and even told me a more specific time of when I’d be able to expect them to arrive. All aspects of service were great and I am one happy camper… with clean clothes! THANK YOU :)

Paid this guy $ 97 to come and diagnose the Viking oven that stopped heating. He said the electronic thermostat control failed. AFTER we had that replaced the oven still doesn’t work, so obviously we paid him for some bogus diagnostic. He has no idea about what’s going on. Anyone can have a business like this because you don’t really have to know anything, just pretend and charge $ 97 and then never call back to answer questions.

Called in and got put on hold for 10 min. Regarding fridge repair. $ 99 trip charge. Seems a bit steep but probably fairly standard. I notice that a lot of reviews for different appliance repair services people complain the tech comes out tells them they have a bunch of stuff wrong and it’s going to cost them an arm and a leg. Sort of like going into the auto shop for an oil change and then they tell you all this other stuff is wrong with your car.
Well, at least you can call an auto repair shop and tell them you believe you need a new alternator installed and they can at least give you an estimate on the labor. Of course if there is something else wrong or an additional repair is required you realize it may cost more.
Not sure if Olson is different but I researched my issue on the Internet and was 99% sure it’s a clogged freezer drain. So I say, «can you give me a labor cost estimate assuming all he has to do is unclog a freezer drain?» They tell me their rates are flat rate not by the hour. I say, that’s fine. So what’s your flat rate to unclog a freezer drain? We don’t quote labor prices before coming out. So I need to pay you $ 99 just to get a price for a particular service realizing there is a chance it might be another problem? I mean I’m not going to hold you to the price quote if something else is wrong. Yep. No estimates/​quotes.
You got to be kidding me. This type of business practice seems very shady. I don’t see why they can’t give an estimate if it’s a common problem with the caveat they can’t guarantee that is all its going to cost. Sheesh.

The receptionist first said that they don’t do any extended warranty service, when I mentioned that Electrolux told me to call them (as an authorized servicer) she checked with the owner to say they do extended warranty work.
Then when I gave my address she said that they only work in certain Seattle Zip Codes (not mine). When I asked if she could check with the owner about this, she said that he was on a job.
So I won’t be able to review their work but considering how frustrating a call was I probably should be happy.

Had Olson’s come out today to repair a latch we accidentally broke on my Bosch front load washer. Todd came out, took a look, verified the inside hook (that the latch goes into and locks onto) was fine. Then he went out to see about getting the new latch. Unfortunately it was not in stock locally and would have to be ordered. So he let me know that he could either come back out with the part and install it for me ($ 80) or I could do it myself and he could tell me how to do it. I chose the latter, and he spent a good 5 minutes explaining in detail how to remove and reinstall the latch, as well as things to not do (i.e. don’t use an electric screwdriver to do so). So impressed that they actually told me how to save money, rather than being greedy and just saying they had to come back out. Very impressed! Also love that they are a family business!

Asko dishwasher was acting up, would not always «Start». The other control buttons worked but not «Start»… Asko agreed to replace the control board though it was 1 month over the 5 year warranty for that part. Asko referred me to Olson Appliance Repair. Todd (Olson — the owner) came out and confirmed that the control board was at fault. The control board, as well as the control button assembly was to be replaced. The repair was delayed a week or so due to the button assembly being back ordered. But, the repair is now done. Todd replaced the parts quickly and courteously. Could not be happier with his work. Will definitely refer Olson Appliance in the future.

BEWARE OLSON IS THE WORST — DON’T TRUST THEM!!!
I have an Asko washing machine which stopped supplying water for the wash cycle. Olson sent out a «technician» (who was thre hours late) who struck me as less than knowledgeable. He said maybe the control panel (computer) that powered it needed to be replaced.
They called back to say it was $ 1200 to replace the control panel. In shock I said I would get back to them. After a lot of time figuring out what my options were — repair vs. replace — I finally asked a friend of mine in construction if he could help me figure out which way to go. He called around and found out the Olson is the only «Asko Qualified» dealer in Kirkland (so they know there is no competition). He then said he would take a look. He called Asko and they said turn off the power, wait two minutes and then turn it back on (basically like rebooting your compoter). It WORKED!
Olson had failed to follow even the first diagonstic step recommended by Olson. How I wished I had read the reviews for Olson before I called them because Deborah V clearly warned about them being a rip off.
DON’T TRUST THEM! DONT USE THEM! WARNING RIP OFF ARTISTS!
I hardly ever write reviews, especially not all cap ones — but this was such an outrageous situation that I had to warn people. I am going to report Olson to the Better Business Bureau as well to get back the $ 100+ they charged me for the initial «diagnostics.»

Do not ever use their service. Call them 5 tims try to find out my refrigerator. The receptionist always says the OWNER will call you back but never did. It is such waste of time to use their service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, SUPER EXPENSIVE AND NOT DO THE JOB!

I have a Viking stove that was on the fritz, I called Olson b/​c they are a recommended Viking repair group.
Phil came out and there was a lot to do, but did a great job.
3 weeks later I had another question so he was sent back out and for no additional charge fixed one more item (no parts were needed). He was friendly VERY knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable that he knew exactly what he was doing. he also was happy to show me what he was doing.
Olsen Appliance also was able to have someone come out on a Saturday since my husband and I both work. That was helpful in itself.
I definitely recommend this group.

These folks came out to service my Asko dishwasher. It’s a top-​end dishwasher, which stopped cleaning dishes properly after owning it about a year. They walked through the same things that were recommended by the owner’s manual– cleaning the filter, checking the arms, and declared there was nothing wrong. They said they would check with Asko and get back to us.
They also noted problems with the install, but did not correct them, simply told us what we could do about it. We had this fixed by a general contractor.
Olson never got back to us, and the dishwasher still doesn’t work properly. I called Asko and got another service set up through Olson. The day before they were to come out, Asko called and said Olson refuses to come out again. Asko tells me that Olson believes they have done all they can, and don’t want to work with a frustrated customer. I’ve called Olson 3 times, but they do not return my calls.
Olson didn’t do their job, they show no concern with customer satisfaction, and they don’t stand behind their work.

If you enjoy being ripped off, call Olson Appliance. The service man came out to «diagnose» my dishwasher which suddenly stopped working after a power outage. He charged $ 89 plus tax just to come out. He took the dishwasher apart, put it back together and said it would cost $ 450 to replace the control module. I found the part online for $ 139. That would be $ 300 for labor? No way… I didn’t have him do the repair. A few hours later, I decided to play around with the buttons on the dish washer, pushed the «Start» button, and lo and behold it started! it’s been running fine ever since. I am so glad I didn’t dish out $ 450 for a part I didn’t need!

Todd Olson tuned my viking range to eliminate most of a gas smell that would arise whenever we used the ovens. He was punctual, pleasant and didn’t mind having me watch as he worked — in fact he explained things as he went along. I would definitely call Olson Appliance Service again in future.
