Petco

Kristin is always the best! We’ve been coming here for years, first for our bearded dragons and now also for our puppies. She ALWAYS takes care of us and has the biggest smile on her face while doing it. She’s always been super helpful and knowledgable. This Petco isn’t the closest one to us but we still come here because of her. The rest of the staff is nice too, but this review is 100% for KRISTIN! I hope the company is treating her right because she sure is treating the customers right! Kristin, you’re the best!

The self dog was is un sanitary. It is not cleaned in between dog washes,. There are huge clumps of dog hair in the dog tub collected from many dogs. The floors are dirty as in (Dirt). Shampoos;, empty, no towels stocked. Customers complain to the management continually. This is ignored by Stacy (new GM) and Kristen (assistant manager.). So apparently the problem does not get remedied. These are unacceptable conditions, for dogs and very un sanitary.

I bought a $ 30 leash here and when I get home to open it it’s missing the part that hooks onto my dog’s collar so I can’t even use the thing and they refused to return it I have talked to multiple managers but they’ won’t budge it’s weird because I always thought Petco was the place to go but I guess not PetSmart is at least they’ll return defective things they sell you Petco won’t! Does Petco particularly the staff is super condescending and rude. They straight up lied to me and said new petco policy (total BS) they have to research the transaction in order for them to return it (but it was too late for them to do?) But I call customer care right after and they said that was not true.
Of course the dorky ugly chick with glasses tells (you stupid bitch) the guy to «research my purchase» idk if its my age or the way i look but Just cuz I can’t find the receipt and I am in my twenties doesn’t mean I stole it but the manager said I was stupid for trying to return stolen shit and was cursing at me so I am calling corporate to report it because I can even show them the purchase on my debit card history.
Hopefully someone in corporate will see this and take another look at the types of people they’re hiring because it’s a shame that this store is run by a bunch of ignorate, bigoted, a**holes!
Honestly petsmart is way better. Way bigger selection, and better prices, and definitely better customer service!!!

Amazing staff! I have two pet ferrets who I love. The staff at Petco in Kirkland is not only caring, but incredibly knowledgeable. James, Chelsea and the rest of the staff are so helpful! They keep my pets healthy and happy! Great selection for small animal products as well. :)

My dog got into some mud. I ended up needing an emergency bath for him. I was apprehensive to go back to Petco after a previous bad experience. The person working at the dos was so helpful and nice. She even gave me a deal on the bath.

Came in as a walk-​in to get my puppy’s nails trimmed. $ 10 and 10 minutes! Love it. As a warning, I happened to be coming from the vet so I had all of her immunization records, which is required to get your dog groomed.

I just bought a teacup Yorkie and was looking for some goodies for my little baby girl! Everyone wanted to pet her! She was the light of the show! Even the cashier made a cute bag of treats for her and congratulated me on buying a beautiful puppy! Sasha is a happy little girl! Excellent customer service! Having a club card to get rewards even made our visit enjoyable! Thank you!

I have always been helped beyond my expectations. The staff is so friendly and well educated. Thanks to all of you, I am a loyal and very satisfied customer of this PETCO!

This had been our go to place for grooming my pom, Momo for more than 3 years. They are always nice and friendly despite the fact they are normally very busy. They did Momo’s haircut just as we asked. Even when we were not happy with her style, they fixed it at spot without any question. Since Momo passed away recently I won’t be going there anytime soon… but I would recommend this place to anyone.

I AM FUMING! I’m visiting from out of town. Fought my way thru traffic to make the appointment for grooming my poodle. Ashley asks me for proof of rabies shots. Of course I have papers SO WHY DIDNT SHE TELL ME THAT WHEN I CALLED FOR THE APPOINTMENT! I don’t carry those papers in my purse. She shrugged and said she forgot to tell me!!! I’ll bet to get this job you have to flunk an IQ test. So she didn’t get groomed. Tomorrow I’ll research another place

Friendly, helpful staff. When I visited for the first time after decades of not having a pet, I was lacking knowledge concerning the most current brands of healthy food, how to select an appropriate bed, toys, shampoo and other goodies for my adopted pup, Minnie. The employees who helped me out had a lot of fun assisting me on my mini-​shopping spree and it was enjoyable even for the somewhat skittish pet. I continue to visit this location regularly since the first, positive experience there.

My wife and I have lived in Kirkland for almost two years. We’ve taken our two dogs to the grooming salon at Petco to get groomed for most of the time that we’ve lived here. We’ve had to explain several times to the groomers there that our dogs have weird hair patterns including a naturally growing Mohawk. I’ve had to wait a few times while I sent them back to have it removed. The groomers are always nice and always compliment our dogs which is nice because our little guys are neurotic little barkers most of the time. We’ve had a problem with the price which is $ 135 total for both of them, but we have returned anyway. Well this last time which will be the last time, we went to pick our guys up. They both still had Mohawks which I’ve dealt with before, however the main reason that we won’t be returning is because of a $ 4 item. One of our leashes has a potty bag holder shaped like a bone attached to it. It has a clip that attaches it to the top of the leash. I noticed it was at the bottom attached to the collar instead of the top. After inspecting the leash I discovered that it had been broken. The groomer didn’t mention that she broke it. She just tried to move it to a different spot and not say anything. They sell this exact same thing in their store. The correct thing to do would have been to approach the manager and say «hey I broke this customers bag holder can I replace it with one off of the shelf?» I would have even accepted a straight forward explanation and apology, it’s only a $ 4 dollar item no big deal right? Well it becomes a big deal when we’ve spent as much as we have at your establishment, had to correct a problem over and over, and we aren’t treated with common courtesy.

The «know-​it-​all» groomer was more concerned with bragging that she has been grooming for 10 years then she was with listening to how I wanted my dog to look. Each time I stated what I wanted, she said «I know» (or something to that effect) which made me feel as though she was not listening. I re-​emphasized each point, and her reply was «trust me, I know what I am doing I have been doing this for 10 years.»
I have a Golden Doodle. I specifically said that I do not want her to look like a poodle. I do not want short hair or a poof on her head, and I absolutely do not want the hair on her face trimmed at all. When we picked up our dog; she was a poodle. All of the specific things I requested were the exact opposite. My wife could not help but say that our dog looked terrible, to which she got an insincere «oh, sorry.» Then the groomer began to argue with my wife about what was originally requested. Our beautiful Golden Doodle has a bad (at best) poodle cut for her first Christmas. Don’t trust this place with your dog.

I have been shopping at this location for years and am familiar with it. They carry a lot of higher quality dog food brands. They also have a good selection of toys but I have to agree with Spiro, the prices are a little high to me but I think that is the pet industry as a whole now. I come in for what I need and get out. The staff there are mainly younger kids in high school who don’t really care about much either so it’s not like you are asking an expert on anything.

Petco really surprised me during my recent visit. I had went in to look for an item I saw on
I wanted to get as a gift. To my surprise, I found the exact same item which was wonderful; however, the price was DOUBLE that of online. Being I order enough from
that shipping costs would be free and time was not of importance for this item, I almost left without the purchase. One of the associated happended to be close by so I asked her if they happen to price match
, which to my surprise she said they offer price matches on everything in the store as long as I could show a screen image on my phone of the current site.
Upon check out, I verified with this with the cashier who completed the adjustment with ease and without any hassle. The cashier commented that she noticed me looking at the pet adoption area earlier asking if I had any questions. The cashier was friendly, personable and clearly enjoyed her job, as did the earlier associate.
The store was clean, well stocked and had an inviting feel to it. The pet (cat) adoption center had cages that were clean and of an overall good size for the cat inside (each cat has its own area)
Kudos to Petco for having a great store and knowing how to keep competitive with online retailers in a tough retail market. There is no reason not to shop at Petco when they will even price match

These pet stores are practically useless. Their web site does have a good selection, but the stores have nothing, and whatever they do have is just way overpriced.
I went there looking for a CatGenie cartridge. No dice, they didn’t even know what a CatGenie was. Cat toys? They have the same generic stuff as target or walmart, but twice the price. Did I mention they want $ 12 for a cat scratcher cardboard disc?
My advice would be to shop online.

I don’t come here often for cat food/​products. I like to go to smaller, local stores for natural cat food. However, they DO have a large amount of natural pet products with similar prices (only slightly higher in price than the store I usually frequent). And if you buy wet cat food in bulk (which is what I typically get here) you get a discount. The staff is friendly from my experiences. They also have a cat rescue program there and I love to check it out even if I’m not going to get another cat in the near future. They are so sweet there. They pretty much have everything you’d need for your pets and seem to have many different types of pets if you are into that sort of thing (lizards, mice, ferrets, fish).

The cat needed some supplies and we had a Petco gift card while in Kirkland to do other errands, so we stepped in here. It was a weekend day and it was rather empty inside (customer-​wise) as people mentioned it tends to be here (I didn’t really notice it when I was there, but reading the reviews here made me realize how true it is!). There were employees walking around the store but none of them stopped us to ask if we needed help or anything (I prefer it this way — I know what I’m doing!). At the register, the cashier was helpful and friendly despite being harassed on the phone by some confused caller.
The store is well-​stocked, clean and feels open. It has really high ceilings and wide aisles. Everything seems well-​organized as well and there are, of course, massive signs hanging overhead to point you in the direction of whatever you’re looking for. I didn’t notice dim lighting, but it was a (surprisingly) sunny day out, so perhaps it feels more dreary on a gray day — was fine for me!
I did notice they have an adoption room and I believe there was an adoption event happening when we visited but there wasn’t much foot traffic. It was nice seeing there was a separate room so it wasn’t blocking merchandise as is typical for pet stores. They also do the low cost vaccinations at this location on some weekends (check store for details).

I come here often to get supplies for my rabbits when I’m in the kirkland area. I love looking at the guinea pigs here (I’m just a sucker for bunnies and cavies).
Most times I’ve been here, staff has been pretty friendly. I was happy that I wasn’t bombarded with someone bugging to «help me» by following me around, suggesting things to buy. I’m able to find everything I need for my rabbits/​guinea pigs here. And the price isn’t that bad either.
There was one time when I brought my bunny Zipper with me. I was looking for a harness and leash for her so I can take her out with me and she can hop around. They don’t get very many exotics here, because several staff members flocked to Zipper to pet her. The head manager even went out of his way to bring her a carrot! He also helped me find a harness for her (one for cats because she is a big bunny) that was just perfect.
If you shop here often, make sure you bring your Petco card. It saves your «points» after every purchase and after a certain number of points, you get a discount.

Gosh darnit. I keep getting suckered into going to Petco. It’s just so freakin convenient.
Bumped it up one star just because of the cashier Craig that helped me today. He has been the nicest soul in that hell hole of a pet store. He even upsold into some impulse buys. Nicely played.
