Korean inspired sushi Bar! Salmon Creek offers a more elegant touch to it’s menu items. The sushi here is fairly fresh, and the entrée items are good. The lunch specials can be a great deal. Service is OK, Sometimes the waitress is overwhelmed, but i think she helps with the cooking in the back. The food here is healthier than most restaurant, less oil and more home style. Prices are a bit high, but I think that’s from the expensive rent they pay. One of my favorites here is Bee bim Bop. Try it, I’m sure you will like it.

I didn’t know what to eat for dinner one night, so I decided to try Salmon Creek Sushi for take-out. Inside was quiet, with maybe only one or two tables occupied. I attributed this to the crummy location hidden on the back road of a shopping center. I ordered their Tofu Teriyaki to go. I was hesitant at first, as the dish was $ 11.99 – yikes! I’m used to teriyaki takeout that’s $ 5-$ 7, but figured I’d give it a shot. The wait was reasonable, maybe about 5 minutes. As I carried my styrofoam-enclosed food out of the door, I was curious if there was anything in it! It was so light! I was very irritated when I opened the container at home and saw about seven small pieces of tofu barely covered in any teriyaki sauce, no soy sauce for the rice, two very small pieces of gyoza, and nothing more than eight small strands of shredded carrots and onions on the tofu as veggies. The positive side of this dish was that the small salad which accompanied the dish was made of spinach and arugula, not that cheap white cabbage salad you usually get at Japanese restaurants. The dish overall tasted all right – about 3⁄5 – but it was definitely not worth $ 11.99. I’d say it was worth $ 5.99 max. I’m wondering if this place is hurting for business and is trying to scrimp and save through smaller portions without lowering the price. I’d give it another shot in the future, but the(lack of) value really scared me away. :(But to be fair, I didn’t try their sushi, so hopefully there’s better value there.

Best sushi in the neighborhood! You do get what you pay for around here. The fish was fresh and absolutely delicious! It’s a great location. Sometimes on a warmer night I’ll get an order to go and take it across the street to the beach. I’ll give it points for being less expensive than a lot of sushi bars with the same quality. It’s just not the budget-friendly(and in my opinion, far less tasty) AA sushi up the street. Service isn’t the fastest, but it was definitely worth the wait!

Fact: I am a sushi lover. Whether is be sake niguri, hamachi sashimi, or uni gunkan, I am always searching for the next freshest thing ;) It’s surprising to see so many rating lower than a 4 for Salmon Creek. I’ve only been there a couple times, but each time I went, I was really impressed with the fish. I think I ordered the bigger sashimi plate both times. Fresh, thick, juicy sashimi cuts. I could tell the sushi chef was really experienced, and really knew good fish. Maybe I just got lucky. Or maybe people should just focus on their sashimi?

This place is a bit hard to find if you’ve never been. We have a GPS and it didn’t find it according the address. Salmon Creek is in Juanita Village on the back side of the strip — across from Bank of America. We ordered spicy Tuna — it was great although a bit different than the spicy tuna we’re used to. The house special roll I ordered was also pretty good and tasty. The chicken katsu was just ok though — the sauce was some kind of curry sauce, not the regular sauce we’re used to. I guess that was ok, just different. We think the price is reasonable for the area. I still would go back to try out more cooked foods.

My wife and 8 year old son ate here Friday night — we were very disappointed. There were only two other tables filled when we got there and our order still took 20 minutes to be served. One child’s bento box for our son, one sushi special, 4 orders of sashimi and a spicy tuna roll. First, they messed up two of the four sashimi orders — salmon and tuna were ordered, shrimp and mackeral arrived. It was taken care of quickly, but still. My son’s bento box arrived, and the chicken katsu was barely edible. Almost no flavor, and the texture made me think it had been made hours before and been held under a heat lamp for way too long — very, very dry and saw dusty. Once the sashmi arrived it was fine, but it felt distinctly unartistic — like slabs of fish carved as opposed to slices of fish carefully created. The sushi was okay, once it finally got to our table, although they are very stingy with the rice, and the way it was plated made it difficult to pick up without it falling apart. The quality varied — some of the sushi tasted wonderful, but several pieces had a distinctly fishy flavor, as if they had gotten in some fresh fish, but still had some older fish they wanted to use up. The tuna roll was not good — it had a definite bitter finish to it, and wasn’t particularly spicy. Dinner for the three of us, with tip, ran to $ 115, way too much for what I felt I got, and certainly too much for the quality of the fish. Our sushi special did not include miso soup or tea, which I guess I’ve kind of gotten used to at other sushiya I’ve been to. To sum up, I can’t think of a reason we’d return here for sushi — there’s just too many other, much better places within 15 minutes. Next time it’s back to Tuna House in Bellevue(my vote for best sushi on the Eastside by a long shot) which has always surpassed our expectations.

Lunch specials even on Saturday make this make a nice mid-day rest stop. The Udon and California roll can be had for $ 8.50. It’s portions are more than generous but the Udon was a bit saltier than I would have preferred.

Map is wrong, this place is in Juanita Village. I came here for lunch on a Saturday and the place was deserted. It’s pretty cool that they offer their lunch specials on Saturdays. Two rolls, 5 pieces of nigiri, and miso soup(minus 20% discount from Passport Unlimited) came out to about $ 13. Not bad at all. The cuts of fish were pretty generous, and I appreciated the fact that the chef’s choices included super white tuna and snapper(not part of the standard 5-piece selection). Spicy tuna roll was good, futo roll had different ingredients from what I’m used to but was still okay. My main complaint would be the rice with the nigiri… it’s nice that they don’t use too much, but it’s packed pretty loosely. That in combination with the slippery chopsticks makes it pretty hard to get the whole thing into your mouth without all the rice falling apart. It’s good to see them not using disposable chopsticks, though. Save the trees! I definitely will be back to try more sushi and maybe some of the hot food options! I think I saw a «choose 3» bento on the menu for $ 10… great deal!

I have never actually been to the restaurant, but have ordered dinner from them numerous times– so my review is based solely on the food. The sushi at Salmon Creek is awesome. Every single thing I have ever ordered was fantastic, whether it was sashimi, a specialty roll, or a hot dish. VERYVERY delicious sushi. My mouth is watering just thinking about it…

I recently moved into the Juanita area and am starting to check out the local places. I was craving Sushi one night for dinner so I stopped by to get some to-go food. To say the least, I was very disappointed. It started out being charged for the wrong thing(a $ 9 overcharge) and having to try explaining this to the waitress who insisted I ordered something I didn’t, while she was missing one of the rolls from the order. Then there was a 20 minute wait for takeout. I ended up buying a $ 2 can of Coke to pass the time. Although they did bring me a free bowl of Miso, which I can say was good. This may be the saving grace from a one star review. When I got home(within 2 minutes of getting the food), my girlfriend and I were both hungry. Unfortunately we didn’t finish what we bought because it was just not that good. The rice was undercooked, the Tuna was sub-par and the Nori was tough and chewey in the rolls. We agreed that we’ll take a pass next time and try somewhere else.

We went to eat here on a Saturday night and were the only customers in the restaurant. Now I can understand why. This was average sushi and the prices are too high for the quality of the food. The waitress hovered by the cash register and stared at us the entire meal which was creepy. There are definitely better places in the area to get your sushi fix.

This is a small unpretentious sushi restaurant. The décor is simple and staff is friendly. At peak hours they can be a bit slow so I prefer takeout. The cherry blossom roll is their best because they make this pretty flower piece in the center out of fresh pieces of tuna. That is the roll that keeps me coming back. I have yet to find a sushi place with as fresh fish in the Seattle/Kirkland area. The menu selection however is not as expansive as some other places but sushi tasty nevertheless.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I never write reviews but the service & incompetence was so ridiculous that I feel the need to warn others. We placed our take-out order & were told to come back in 30 minutes. We ordered 4 orders of nigiri &3 rolls. The restaurant was about half full(4 – 5 tables) w/2 sushi chefs & a cook in the back. We came back 30 minutes later & when I asked if the food was ready the entire staff looked at each other in confusion. They started comparing tickets & talking in a different language & I could tell that our order never made it to the chefs. They asked for my ticket & then told me it was going to be another 20 minutes because they were really busy. There were 4 tables & most of them were already eating or finishing up their meals. Basically they didnt want to admit that our order never made its way to the people who were going to be making it. We asked for a refund because we already waited 30 minutes & weren’t about to wait another 20 minutes. They said they would have it ready in 5 minutes so we told them we would wait 5 minutes but if it wasn’t ready then we wanted a refund. 5+ minutes later & no food. I noticed the sushi chef was making nigiri that wasn’t ours for another table. I got up to ask what was going on & they told me it was ready. They gave us 2 take out boxes and we walked out of the restaurant-just happy we finally got our freaking food. We decided to check out order to make sure they got everything & they didn’t give us our $ 10 tempura roll! We obviously demanded a refund. The lady didn’t know how to do a refund on a credit card so she gave us cash. You would think if you’ve made us wait 50 minutes you would double check that order but obviously they don’t care at all. One of the chefs was apologetic & again made the excuse that it was busy but it wasn’t. If you want subpar overpriced sushi & horrible service then go. Can’t see it lasting more than 6 months. AWFUL!

I have an ongoing dilemma, I always want sushi and My betrothed always wants steak. Since you can never find a joint that serves a fine filet mingnon as well as some really good Hamachi one of us has to settle. Salmon Creek has made settling so much easier. It’s right down the street from our house, the fish is always great quality and the rolls are expertley made, the people friendly. Salmon Creek is the first place on the eastside(I moved across the Lake last year) that I feel like a regular.

The variety at Salmon Creek is what keeps me coming back. It’s great if I just want a bit of sashimi or if I want to splurge on some rolls, everything is good. There seems to be a high turnover rate for sushi chefs. This can be good or bad — I think the main reason is that Miss Jessica is pretty picky about how things are prepared. That said, I think she gives the chefs a bit of free license, because the rolls to vary from chef to chef. They’re always good, so I don’t complain — I just chalk it up to more variety. The thing that never changes is the Firecracker appetizer. In a word: Yum. If you want to splurge on something fried, you must must *MUST* try it.

I know it sounds more like an outdoor apparel store than a sushi joint, but Salmon Creek rocks! The spicy salad was a tasty little appetizer and the sushi rolls arrived quickly and immediately satisfied our hungry tummies. It’s a credit to the place that you can be simultaenously gorging yourself on sushi and watching the flat screen TV(which highlights their diverse sushi offerings) and think that you need to order that one roll on screen right away. Don’t let the strip mall location fool you, the locals know what this place is all about!

Update: Well, still my favorite sushi, but we only go there when we have LOTS of time to spare. If there are several sushi orders ahead of you it can be a really long time before you are served. Sadly, it is now often empty. If only they had added another chef and waitperson before the crowds disappeared. Yowza! I did not try this place until a friend raved about the bento box lunch. I usually steer clear of strip mall sushi, but this place is awesome and the prices are great. Sake, wine and beer available. Order sushi from the menu or combination plates and terriyakki. My kids loved the Chicken Katsu with rice. Service was great and I already saw some regulars at dinner.
