Let me start by saying their customer service was very unprofessional! I called at least 5x within a 2 week span and each time, I never got through to a person, nor did they ever return my call to schedule an appointment until Groupon came to my rescue and contacted them for me! I should’ve listened to my gut and not proceeded with the Groupon due to the scheduling difficulties, but scheduled an appointment anyways. Upon arrival, the hairstylist put a cape around me and it instantly smelled like someone was previously sweating in it and felt unsanitary. During the cut and color, she asked me what color I wanted and when I told her, she went right to work, never confirming with a sample or anything what the color would look like. She spent probably a total of 5 minutes cutting my hair(fastest haircut ever) and I couldn’t even tell she cut it. After the color and blow dry, I noticed my roots were showing about 1″. I’ve had my hair colored before and most of the good stylists at other salons make sure to cover the roots, but this stylist(forgot her name) just tried to go as fast as she could since she had another client to work on while she was working on me. I called a few weeks after since the roots were bugging me and just as I expected, no one returned my call. Please go to another salon and skip the Groupon here.

I desperately needed a haircut and turned to groupon. From what I read of the other reviews I figured I could trust Salon Cybele. I walked in not sure which space was the correct one, but Christine greeted me with a warm welcome. She really knows what she’s doing, and is beyond passionate about hair! I’m definitely going back to see her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great hairdresser on the eastside!

This is a cute little salon located in Downtown Kirkland’s Mosaic Salon Group Building. When you enter, Salon Cybele(pronounced Sigh-Bella) is the first room on the right — a cute, clean, hip little spot with bright lighting and really only room for one customer at a time. I booked an appointment over the phone for the same week and got an appointment around noon on a Friday. The call took a couple tries to get through, but be patient! There is usually just one hairdresser there at a time and she takes care of both customers and appointments. :) I got my hair cut by Lisa — she was super sweet and easygoing. I believe she’s there only on Fridays and Saturdays, but I didn’t ask her to confirm. She was gentle when washing my hair which I appreciated SOMUCH. This is probably something normal people don’t fuss over, but my scalp and ears are sensitive and hate being prodded and pulled at. Not having these parts throb for the rest of the visit helps improve the experience(I know, I sound so prissy.). Lisa was fast and obviously skilled at haircutting. Our conversation was easy and she would periodically ask for my opinions on length/layers/etc. She was very thorough, making sure my layers were even and well-blended. Get your hair cut by Lisa! She’s awesome. Tips: – Complimentary bang trimmings! – Route your Google Maps to Mosaic in Kirkland, not Salon Cybele(that takes you to a residential location) – Free 2h parking next to Mosaic(«in the back»), but I prefer the lot closer to the water. I believe free parking ends around 5 or 6 on weekdays(for both locations).

Armed with a Groupon, my teenage fashionista daughter and I came here the other day for a haircut with Christine. And my kid got a fabulous cut, and she is super happy(SUCH a rarity! Only parents of teenage daughters know of what I speak!). The pros: –The salon is cute, clean, and very centrally-located in the heart of downtown Kirkland. –Christine is great, very professional, and is a skilled stylist. She listened to my kid and gave her exactly the look and style and cut she wanted. –I like how they will try to accommodate your schedule. We got a 5:30pm appointment on a weekday, as I had to go with my kid after work on a weekday.(Note that Saturdays are often booked for 2+ weeks out). –I like how you can get emailed receipts for payments. The cons: –I wish I had read the Unilocal reviews prior to going. On the Groupon info, and on the text confirmations I got prior to the appointment, there was no mention that this salon was under the umbrella name of «Mosaic Salon». All the signage outside the place says«Mosaic». There is no signage visible from the outside that says«Salon Cybele». We drove around the area multiple times, in horrid rush hour traffic, looking for this place. Be warned: signage is for«Mosaic Salon»! –speaking of traffic, I would never again book an appointment here during rush hour. It’s unreal, bumper to bumper gridlock, horrible. Adding to the nightmare is the fact that there is a TON of construction going on all over downtown Kirkland. And there is no dedicated parking lot, and access to many of the existing lots are now blocked due the ever-present construction. Unless you are already in the area from 4−6pm, I’d not drive here for an appointment. Getting here and parking are just too stressful and problematic.(Note: you may be able to park in the library parking lot nearby, but every time I passed it, I was driving in the opposite direction and could not access the lot. ARGH! At this hour, it most likely was full anyhow). We’ll be back, but not at 5:30 on a weekday! lol!

I’ve been wanting a change in my hair color for months. I finally made an appointment with Christine. I told her what I wanted, she gave me some suggestions, and bottom line, I LOVE my hair! If you are looking for someone to listen and deliver, this is your place! Great atmosphere, exceptionally clean, and Christine is a pleasure chatting with while she works. I will definitely be back.

Yay! I went to see Jessalyn for a cut and color and she did an awesome job. I previously had another color in my hair and had to get that bleached out and a new color put in, and then a cut on top of that. All up it took 3 hours, and she was really friendly and patient and made sure she was doing what I wanted the whole time. I never knew that there were so many options for how to do bangs! I was also thinking about doing extensions at some point and the other cosmetologist went and got out a bunch of sample extensions so I could see what colors they came in and how they worked. That was super helpful for future reference, and of course she wasn’t even working on me so I appreciated that she went out of her way to do that. The salon itself is in the Mosaic complex, so it’s quite small, with only two stations and a wash basin. It doesn’t feel crowded though, and apart from being right at the entrance of the complex(where everyone who is going to another salon can walk past and see you) and right at the window(where everyone outside walking past can see you), it just feels like a normal salon. There’s parking in the garage one building down, and the location in downtown Kirkland is super convenient.
