I called Stack Plumbing for a leaky faucet in our bathtub. GREAT NEWS is they were nice, came within the hour and it’s fixed! BAD NEWS is it cost $ 300 for 30+ minutes of work to replace the «stems and trim». I’m not in the plumbing business nor do I have any knowledge of typical rates but holy cow that’s a lot of money for such little work. 3 stars is for the cost and i’d give 5 stars for everything else.

I called Stack Plumbing to fix a leak in my hot water heater. The positives: the technician came on time, had a friendly and professional demeanor, and was efficient without rushing.
What I found afterward left a bad taste in my mouth.
They replaced the copper piping with lower-​quality stainless steel (?) piping. I didn’t even think they needed to replace the piping. Assuming they did, they should have replaced it with the same quality piping or have given me a discount, as they can now resell that copper piping as scrap metal or as an upgrade at another job.
I felt like they pulled the wool over my eyes and got a little bonus out of it. Not okay.
This is anecdotal and doesn’t factor into my rating, but it’s worth bringing up:
My elderly neighbor said without my prompt, «If you ever need plumbing, never call Stack Plumbing! I was getting quotes on fixing my toilet and the guy from Stack just stood in the bathroom doorway and quickly said the entire toilet would need to be replaced when all the other contractors said less work would need to be done. When I said ‘no’ he was shocked and kept quoting me for other services that would total his original quote of around $ 500. I didn’t hire them. They were shady.»
Shady, indeed.

Mike and Jim Stack are a great plumbing contractor who can be trusted to stand by their work. I had them do some gas line plumbing from my house to a new fire pit. I asked them to return and correct something not to my satisfaction. Rather than ignore me or keep putting me off they responded immediately and fixed the problem. A very pleasant experience. No hassles or argument. They just followed thru.
I can also vouch for them on their reliability to show up when they promise and do the work as described.
All in all a company I would use again.

Jim (the owner) from Stack Plumbing came to my house this morning to fix the drain pipe that broke under my kitchen sink. Jim arrived when he said he would, fixed my broken pipe and it’s better than new ! I will always call Stack Plumbing for any plumbing issues in our home.

Stack plumbing came out the guy did not know what was wrong. Did some things that didn’t need to be done that charged a unbelievable price. Accomplished nothing but said that is the industry standard

We had terrific experiences with Stack Plumbing. Diagnosed and solved some low water pressure issues quickly and efficiently. Also had a new hot water heater installed at a reasonable price in a timely manner. They are now the first call I’ll make to help with any plumbing issues I have in the future.

We had Mike Stack from Stack plumbing come and take a look at our broken water heater. This was after the fact that one other contractor came, saw and told us it needs to be replaced. Mike was punctual, hassle free scheduling, and more than anything else honest. He came in, knew exactly what was wrong, got the job done and left us with a working water heater. Honest, efficient and dependable! What more can you ask for…
Bonus points for not charging ridiculous fees! The right service for the right price — these guys will be on my speed dial for all plumbing issues henceforth!

Great service! We were having a hard time finding someone who would come out to Redmond and install a new kitchen faucet for us. Kevin was able to come out within a few days (We were in no rush) and get it installed very quickly and professionally! He really knew what he was doing and told us to get in touch with him if we had any questions or problems. We’ll definitely call these guys again for our plumbing needs.

That smiling gentleman you see in the picture there was not the version who showed up at my house to provide us an estimate. We were in the middle of a kitchen remodel and needed some plumbing renovation. What a disheartening experience — he seemed more like a curmudgeonly bad-​news bear than a plumber. As I walked him through the house explaining what needed to be done, he focused entirely on how massively difficult/​impossible each portion of the job would be. Unbidden, he did not fail to point out the inadequacies of the existing systems (such as the hot water heater and the plumbing to the other areas of the house) which are still working fine and we had not planned to replace during this phase of the renovations. I had to take time off work to meet this chap and to add insult to injury, he did not even provide the estimate he promised. A complete waste of my time. I’d suggest caution if you are contemplating this company for a larger job on an old house.

Our shower had backed up and we called a plumbing agency close to our home that was trying to charge us 1200.00 to clear the drain. We had Stack Plumbing come out in in about 15 minutes, cleared the drain and also, provided some valuable education on our pipes and lines in the house. They were extremely professional and their prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend them!

Mike came out on short notice to help me with my house’s horrible (old — galvanized steel) plumbing issues. The price was average for a day where I couldn’t get anyone to call me back because all of the plumbers were running from frozen pipe mess to frozen pipe mess. Thanks again!

We emailed our problem of not being able to relight our water heater pilot light on sunday after the windstorm. They responded by 7 the next morning. By 9:30 it was relit and NO CHARGE! Unheard of… outrageous! Mike Stack was very nice… and we will definitely recommend them and call them whenever we need plumbing work! Thanks! Julianne no longer cold and stinky in Juanita.

We had our kitchen sink clog up on a Sunday evening and then it started leaking underneath the sink (cabinet) overnight. I called Stack Plumbing right when they opened on Monday morning and they had someone out to our house within 30 minutes! Michael took a look and knew exactly what the issue was. He cleaned out the garbage disposal pipes, checked everything else just to make sure, and then put everything back together and tested it all to make sure it was all set. I’m not used to plumbing being so easy! Michael was so friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be using Stack again for our future plumbing needs as their service is great and their prices are reasonable!

Of all the horrible luck, we get home from vacation to find that not only has it gotten way colder in Seattle, but that our hot water heater is not longer willing to provide us with the one thing that we need it do: hot water. Nothing like waking up the next morning when it’s 40 degrees and finding that I’ll be taking a cold water shower to really let reality settle in.
That same fateful cold shower morning, both my husband and I set out to call every HVAC/​plumbing guy in town. Almost everyone we called was too busy — so busy that the earliest some of these folks could get to us would be the following week. Bear in mind that it was a Tuesday morning, and we’re talking «the earliest will be next Thursday.» Uhm, yeah, that’s not going to work for me (My hubby claimed that he could totally deal with refreshing cold showers. You do that honey.). One plumber took sympathy on us and planned to meet us late Wednesday. Unfortunately, this-​and-​that, our appointment was cancelled. I spent the rest of our commute home on Wednesday afternoon calling every plumber that I could find. One of them, Rush Plumbing, suggested we call the folks at Stack Plumbing, who are also conveniently located on the Eastside.
First of all, kudos to the guy I talked to on the phone (I think he was the owner) for being straightforward with us. Our hot water heater is about 10 years old. Some of the bigger companies we called wouldn’t even come out to help us, they told us that they’d only schedule something if we were to buy a new hot water heater (which is fine, but I do need hot water in the meantime, and I’m willing to pay for it.). He basically told me what he thought the problem might be based on our description, but that depending on what it was, it may or may not be worth fixing. But — they were willing to fit us in the next day, check it out, and give us our options.
The plumber who came by our house the next day was on time (!) and able to help us without selling us a hot water heater. He explained some of our options, since we do know that in the next year or two, we do have to get a new hot water heater. He was really patient and knowledgeable. Apparently, he also teaches in his spare time, which we think is a good sign that he really knows what he’s doing. Also, these guys were not into selling you more — they will tell you what your best options are and help you keep it within budget. The cost of replacing our thermal couple was well within our expectations, and the work was done quickly and well. I can’t complain.
Thanks Stack Plumbling! Because of you, I have hot water again. I will call these guys next time we have any plumbing needs.

These guys saved our day! They knew immediately — on the phone — that our problem was not a plugged drain, was a plugged septic or other line outside our house. Saved us tons of dollars not to mention delays! Couldn’t use the toilets or anything.
Describing the issue to other plumbers they were going to send a guy out with service delays and diagnostic fees. Yikes! So glad I thought to call my realtor and she told me about Stack Plumbing!

I have used Stack Plumbing for years, they are so professional and know what they are doing, unlike these other companies I have had in the past — they come in get the job done and dont try to upsell me anything. Jim and Mike Stack run a good small company. I recommend them for any of you plumbing needs.
