I had a horrible experience with Sunrise Shading(SS). The lack of communication, the disrespect, and the unprofessionalism makes me wonder how the owner of SS is getting a 5 star review. I reached out to SS on January 23rd2015 for a simple awning install with a wind sensor to retract the awning should strong wind occur. The owner came out to give us a quote. On January 25th, 2015, we paid him 75% of the cost to get it installed. He said it would take 2 – 3 weeks to get the custom awning ordered. By «custom» I mean the fabric. It’s a pretty straight forward awning. We had to follow up with him several times in March to ask for status and received several run-around excuses as to why it’s late. He never called us to give us status. The awning wasn’t installed until March 17th but the wind sensor wasn’t installed. The installation crew told us that the owner would have to come out and do it himself and that he would call us to schedule that appointment. 5 days later, I get a bill for the remaining 25%. I ignored the bill since the work wasn’t done. I had to call the owner on March 26th to schedule the appointment. He NEVER called us. Once again, we got the run-around excuse about why ordering the sensor is delayed. He offered me a refund for the sensor, which I declined because the whole point of using SS and agreeing to the work is that we get the awning AND the sensor. He said it would take 3 – 4 weeks to get the sensor and then HUNGUP on me. I was shocked. I called back, thinking the phone call was dropped. He never picked up his cell phone and never made an attempt to call me back. To this day, August 18th, he has never made an attempt to complete the work, yet I’m still getting a bill for the 25%. I wrote to him several times via email letting him know of my experience and in my final email, told him that I want to terminate all remaining services with SS due to extreme delays and poor customer service. He never wrote me back or attempted to resolve the issue with me. I am now looking for an attorney to resolve the matter. All the money I thought I «saved» by going with Sunrise Shading versus another competitor is now going towards attorney’s fees. You’ve been warned.

Friendly customer service! Dave was willing to come to our home at a time convenient for us. He showed us samples so we could see how the awning will look on our building. The installation went flawlessly. When completed we were shown the options and operation of it. We really enjoy being able to sit in the shade now and enjoy our view!
