The 101

I was apprehensive about re-​entering the rental market after almost 30 years, but after two months here, The 101 has far exceeded my expectations. The building itself is clean with classy finishes. It features a rooftop deck with stunning views and fantastic amenities, and to say the location of The 101 was great would be an understatement. I am right in the heart of downtown (!), and my dog and I love the «walkability» factor. Bricks and mortar are one thing, but I truly believe it’s the neighbors and staff that make this place so special. From what I’ve witnessed, Katie and Dee are far more than leasing agents. I often think of them more like house-​mothers or camp counselors. ;) They are helpful, responsive and the BBQs they host have been a great way to meet my new neighbors. I find it comforting to see their smiling faces in the lobby. I work from home so appreciate many other little things: hearing the vacuum outside my door on Tuesday mornings; the doggie «bags» in the lobby; and seeing Joe, the maintenance lead, at my door within 24-​hours of making a request. Other than the small parking spaces in the garage, I can only say good things about The 101.

I have called the 101 home for nearly 3 years. If I could up the scale to 6 stars, I totally would. The location, amenities, staff, and sense of community within the building all make the 101 the best place to live in Kirkland by far. The units are clean, well-​maintained (they also have a lightning-​fast and ultra-​responsive maintenance crew in case of a bulb outage or major problem), and just what you would expect from a luxury-​appointed unit. They were built with the intent of being condominiums, so their construction is solid and the soundproofing is great. The individual air conditioning made this place an oasis in the summer, and the rooftop deck and barbecue grills made for great entertainment opportunities.
Go for the units with a southern exposure. You’ll have a great view of Lake Washington and the Seattle Skyline (including the tip of the Space Needle)!

This is the best apartment complex I’ve lived in. They respond almost immediately to work orders, have a responsive staff, and are very professional and nice people. The rooftop view of Lake Washington and Seattle is amazing and they have two nice barbecue grills up there. I’ve never liked an apartment enough to actively give it a good review, so this is a first for me.

Great spot to live in, nice neighbors and staff, love the rooftop views of Lake Washington and Seattle!
