This is a great place to go if you’re out on the town in Kirkland, enjoying the beachfront on a lovely day.(Necessary part of the experience: the clear sky, the smell of fresh water and morning and promises in the air!) There’s something about this boardwalky shack(right next to EarthLight rocks!!) that really gets my sentimentality going. Burger fare is pretty standard, but they do have some stand-out favorites such as the Cajun Salmon burger that I particularly go for and nice feta cheese on the fries. Word of the wise: They say in their menu that their super duper special-style Fish and Chips, which is apparently baked rather than fried or something for extra low fat(kay) takes longer to cook than your average menu item. The waitress won’t bother to remind you of this fact, but it’s true, and you’ll feel the burn of the wait. Me, being the impatient bastard that I am, wanted to stab myself with my plastic fork by the time my fish and chips got to me, and really didn’t hold much of a candle to Burger Master’s EXTRAGREASYJUICY fish and chips. But that really is just unique to that menu item, which you can avoid if you don’t want to feel like you’re the sole person to blame for holding your friends or loved ones up. Other meals seem to be served in fine time and servers are generally friendly.

Baked fish and chips, same great flavor, crisp outside, with less fat? WRONG. FAIL. That’s how I was ftheeeling after receiving my fish and chips that were $ 11. So bad, I couldn’t finish my first bite. These are the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had… I tried to stay optimistic, I tried to enjoy my now $ 11 side of fries but they were burned just not very good. Service was slow. The only nice thing was the outdoor seating, and that’s what drew us in to begin with. 1 star for the seating. 0 for the food and service.

of all the spots on the kirkland waterfront — the slip is one of the longest lasting spots. it’s a prime spot with a shaded patio and decent waterfront views. I haven’t had any of the food here yet but I have came for a few drinks on a nice summer day. Beer and drink selection is sub par but the biggest problem is that the beer always comes out warm and the drinks taste pretty bad. They have great names and descriptions but they don’t taste good enough to want another. Overall a good place to take a break from walking around and enjoying the view but I’m sure there are better spots to enjoy food and drinks.

Cheap food, slow service. Chips and salsa was bad store bought chips straight from the bag, pace salsa straight from the can. You’re better off eating at Safeway.

Have you ever had peanut butter AND bacon on a burger? If not you’re in for a treat. My boyfriend always gets that and I order the Hawaiian and we have them cut in half so we can share! Served with chips and salsa, one of us subs for fries instead. Great drinks and their happy hour is awesome. In the summer the seating is all outside so it’s awesome on a nice day. The servers however sometimes don’t tend to the table as much as I’d like. We wanted more drinks but by the time they came back we were over it. I recommend the peanut butter and bacon burger, or the Gorgonzola fries if you’re feeling like being extra bad.

BEWAREEATATYOUROWNRISK Celebrated a friend’s bday for lunch. Out of six, 4 of us all went home sick. It was horrible, nearly went to the hospital for dehydration and pains from cramping. It was a hot day and with no air-conditioning I can just imagine what goes on in that small and crowded kitchen. Called to let them know and manager promised me that the owners will call but they never did. I would let the health department go and check the facility.

Don’t bother. I was here a week ago with my out of town parents. We where checking out the water front, and my dad wanted a burger and a beer. Well lo and behold, alfresco dinning right as we turned the corner. We where seated right away with a great view and a sticky table. This should have been our clue to move on. There where a couple of teenaged girls working our section and they kept switching back and forth.(I should also say, that like most teenage girls, they where talking to each other and not really paying attention to us. I had to get up and find a waitress to get help at one point.) We got our drink orders in,(p.s. don’t order the iced tea. It was just water they waved a tea bag over,) then people watched in the shade. We finally flagged down a waitress, and placed our order. My dad ordered a second beer to go with his burger, and my mom ordered no pickles on her chicken burger because of some dietary issues. I should also mention everything here is a-la-cart. So we ordered a large French fry for dad and I to split. Food came. No beer. Nothing on my moms burger. She ordered the chicken gorgonzola sandwich. No pear, no gorgonzola. We flagged down another waitress. She offered to make the sandwich again, or to have them bring out a side of grilled pear. Mom didn’t want us to wait to eat, so she opted for the side of pear. Still no beer. We finally got it when our meal was over. The food was ok, but pricey for what it was. The kitchen/bar really screwed over the little girls serving. And the fact is when I go out I want one server, so I can get help quickly. Clearly this is a local hang out and they love it. But, since I’m not a local, Id say skip this hot mess, and find someplace else.

Waited 30 minutes for a to go order on a Sunday at 12pm. Finally cancelled. My kids couldn’t wait any more. I was waiting at the bar and saw sandwiches going out with burned buns and other mistakes. Bloody Mary was very good.

The place is somewhat dirty, sticky salt shakers, the restroom disgusting and the service slow even with low attendance. I ordered a burger and was tasty but came with no fries, apparently you have to order them apart, the waiter never told us. My wife got fish and ships and the ships never came out until we asked for them. She asked for some limes and they got her those super thin slides for drinks decorations impossible to squeeze… Seriously? We probably won’t come back, too bad because they have an amazing spot by the shore at Kirkland bay. The owners should put more attention to those important details if they want to keep happy and loyal clientele.

Wonderful service and food. The service was quick and the food was fresh and hot. I highly recommend this place if your down town kirkland. There was out doors seating. I would say come here when the sun it out

Surprised that the reviews were not a little higher, great burger and the gargonzola FF’s were outstanding. They have a good menu of mix drinks at a reasonable price too. I don’t live in Kirland but my buddy does and he tried to figure out a few other places to eat, but we finally got an outdoor table and eat at the slip. Overall if you’re expectations are just for some good drinks and a good burger I think this place is good.

We were visiting Kirkland for the first time so we did a lot of walking around and enjoying the sun. We came across this place with an outstanding happy hour(3 – 6), $ 2 well drinks ! Can’t beat that anywhere! The server was great, very funny and outgoing. Made jokes about everything so the atmosphere there was very light and friendly. We chose outdoor seating because it was a beautiful day. Their outdoor seating is nothing special, some plastic chairs and tables(but who really cares when you’re getting $ 2 drinks and enjoying the sunshine) Overall this is a great place and we will definitely be coming back!

We had been trying to dine here every summer for the last couple of years, finally decided to agree to the wait time for seating this go-around since it was less than 30 minutes and they were not very busy at the time. Were told 10 minute wait, seemed odd to have to wait at all as there were many open tables(11:40 a.m. on Sunday 5⁄3) inside and outside. 10 min ended up being 20 and they only filled two of the open 6 tables we could see. We were seated inside even though we requested(and agreed to wait) for outside, were told«we can’t seat you outside.» Hmmm… OK… We were greeted by three different people, none of whom seemed to know who was responsible for our table but we did get menus and ordered water and soda, that arrived fairly quickly. But then we were rather rushed to place our food order. Ordered a Teriyaki Chicken sandwich and a Ranch Chicken Sandwich, both with fries; our friends ordered only chips and salsa/beans(appetizer.) After waiting 30 minutes, our friend got up and asked if he could at minimum have the appetizer. They said, «what appetizer?» 20 minutes later(50 minute wait for food at this point) we got the appetizer AND our Chicken burgers — NO fries — their response was«oh — sorry, those must still be cooking.» Really? Another 10 minutes later they brought us partially-cooked and really poor quality fries. There wasn’t enough room on the tiny table to put them — we basically had to «bus» our own table while the kid stood there trying to figure out what to do with them. The Chicken burgers were ok, cooked alright and decent flavor, but nothing spectacular. Also appears they slice the chicken breast in half so it is really thin and you can get two sandwiches out of one half-breast. The fries were horrible(really — do not bother ordering them!) Overall we were there for almost two hours for mediocre food and really poor service. Everyone raves about the location — downtown Kirkland on the water — oh boy! But you can’t really see much from the place as the public park bathrooms block some of the view. If you want to eat with a view of the water in this area, go elsewhere and pay a bit more more, or — better yet — get takeout(not from here!) and enjoy a picnic style meal on the dock among the boaters.

One star is for the view and location. One star is for the attentive and nice waitress that helped us. But that’s it. Drink/cocktail menu? Don’t bother. Aside from beer and wine, the other items listed were unappealing, generic and sugary. Food: My fish and chips were some of THEWORST I’ve had. The«baked» fish were indeed filets, but resembled some I could buy in the frozen section of the grocery store… but tasted worse. And the fries!!! ABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE. Think day-old McDonald’s fries; cold, dry and tough… loaded with seasoned salt(as well as my fish). I had one fry and didn’t eat the rest. ****luckily when I told the waitress they were bad, she offered to have me pick another side… I declined and instead asked for a portion taken off my bill. My friends teriyaki burger was okay, but adding $ 1 for some tortilla chips and salsa!!! Ridiculous. The burgers are sold by themselves and any side is a $ 1 extra. Ambience: yes, you can’t beat the view and location, BUT the plastic outdoor tables were old, dirty and cracked. Cmon, this is Kirkland, you can afford new cheap tables. Service: she was doing the best she could with the shitty food. She was very nice and had no problem taking $ 2 off my bill… which led me to assume this isn’t the first time she has done this. Save your money for one of the many other places on the boulevard.

Can’t go wrong with a burger that has peanut butter and chipotle raspberry jam. Go PBJ! Great patio by the lake and some seating inside. The service is abrupt and if your name is on the seating list they will not give you an estimated time… If you’re there when they call your name then you get a seat. Don’t like it? There will be plenty of people behind you to take your table.
