The Union Method

I absolutely love this studio! The prices are great and the workouts and instructors are top notch. I always leave tired and sore for the next couple of days. I highly recommend checking this studio out!!!

All the instructors here are very sweet and definitely know what they are doing. For a barre studio, they are cheaper than other places, but still pricey. I did enjoy coming here, but the space is SO tiny. I wish there was a front desk type area so that when you come in to sign up for classes or register the whole class wasn’t staring at you.
Overall, great place for barre!

I take Pilates classes with Nariman and she is THE BEST. I started months ago with major lower and upper back problems. I did a handful of one-​on-​one classes to start so that she could really focus on me and teach me the ins and outs, and now am in the small group classes. I have healed so much since working with Nariman. I often say that doing Pilates with her is like Physical Therapy on steroids. She is so very knowledgable, knows everything about the anatomy, has experienced issues with her body herself, and knows how to carefully and strategically (if you have injuries) help you to become strong and healed. Aside from that she is an absolute sweetheart and a joy to work with. But don’t let that fool you because she will push you and make you work hard! Love doing Pilates with Nariman, it has been such an amazingly positive and life/​body changing experience.

I absolutely LOVED The Union Method! I started with the Groupon last October and noticed results within the first month — from then on I was hooked on barre! I loved the intimate class sizes and the studio space itself was very tranquil. Sad to report that I’m no longer attending classes at The Union Method, as I have since moved out of state.

Excellent introduction to barre! I used a 10 class Groupon. Upon my arrival to The Union Method, I was surprised to see that it was just a small studio. However, as I continued to attend class, the small studio is actually great because it allows for personalized adjustments by the instructor. I’ve taken classes from Anne and Tami. Both of them are very friendly and ensure you’re doing the exercises correctly.
The workouts were challenging and definitely worth the pain! The workout music totally gets you into the exercise. Great, clean studio. Highly recommend!

I have been going to The Union Method studio for about 6 months now and it quickly turned into a 6 day a week thing. I LOVE it! This has been my first experience with any type of Barre class and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. However, Tami and Anne both made it very easy for me to feel comfortable with the classes. I was looking for something that helped with core strength and also offered cardio and I totally found it. The variety of classes that are offered gave me exactly what I was looking for and has kicked my butt! I like the fact that this is not a franchise type studio, it gives flexibility to the classes and allows students to make suggestions and you actually feel like you are being listened to.
I highly suggest The Union Method for anyone that is looking to join an awesome group of ladies that have the same intentions as you do. Get fit, feel great and have a good time in the process.

Extremely disappointed; I purchased a Groupon pass, but will not being using it all. Before even attending the class, I tried it contact the instructor/​owner to ask a couple questions and it took more than a month of constant calling and emails to receive a response. I’ve tried barre3 and love it, so I was curious as to the difference. When I finally made it to the class, the owner was rude and honestly I found her to be unfriendly and stuck up.
The class itself was horrible — it wasn’t a workout, and I actually was worried I was hurting my body. The instructor provided no assistance or corrections and everyone in the class was confused. The space was small and I kept bumping into the women around me. The mats were cheap and breaking and we spent most of the time on them — hardly even used the bar. Overall a horrible experience and I would never recommend.

I love this studio! The instructors are all very kind and helpful and they really do put effort into keeping the class fun and interesting. Great music too!
I seriously have no idea what the other reviews are talking about in terms of rude instructors. Tami is so sweet and I love taking her class. I’ve taken a few other classes with different instructors and they all seem to be just as great. Sometimes people complain just to complain. Some days I can keep up with the class and some days my legs are about to fall off, I have yet to have an instructor call me out in class about it. I’ve never felt put in the spot ever.
I would really recommend this place for a great workout. Is close to Juanita shops, coffee, and restaurants too. Such easy parking!

It was a good workout but I felt like the instructor was snobby and rude. Also, the studio is super tiny and felt cramped. I will not be returning.

I got a groupon for this and I was very disappointed. The location of the studio looks really shaddy. I arrived 15 minutes earlier to talk to the instructor, but nobody was there. The instructor didn’t show up until 5 minutes before the class started, so I waited outside for a long time. The studio space was super tiny, hot and I kept bumping into the person next to me (super uncomfortable)
The studio wasn’t clean and you have to clean up your mat after you’re done. And to top it off, one of the instructors was really rude. I do not recommend this place at all!

I’ve tried Pure Barre and Barre3 and thought they were okay but never liked them enough to come back. But at Union Method, I’ve been constantly booking classes to get more classes in. The barre classes are unbelievably tiring, I feel like I’m working muscles I never use in general which is pretty awesome!
I’ve tried the barre and the barre hiit classes and both are really good. If you’re a beginner, I would recommend doing the barre classes first to learn form and get more attention from the instructor, Tami. The barre hiit is really fast paced, you’re moving from barre to cardio very quickly and it kicks your butt! So serious!

I’ve gone to all the Barre studios on the Eastside and the classes at the Union Method are hands down the best! They have the best Instructors, equipment, and amazing workouts! Always walk out feeling amazing (and sore!) I recommend this to everyone!

This was a nice, clean studio with easy parking. The classes are intense — as they should be. I found the online scheduling to be a little difficult, only because I was trying to coordinate with friends and there was often a waitlist. Once I figured out how to do a recurring weekly appointment, it was fine. I did enjoy the small, intimate feel of the space. The main instructor was good. She is not the cheerleader /​energizer bunny kind of instructor. She is more professional and to the point. Overall, it’s a great place. I probably won’t go regularly just because it’s pretty expensive, but I think the price is on par with other barre classes in the area.

This is a fantastic workout and the instructors are great. The deal-​killer for me is the too loud techno music. It makes it difficult to hear the instructors, and to focus on the workout. Just too distracting to keep going back. And, that’s a shame because this is one of the best workouts I’ve ever had.

I have taken classes at Pure Barre, Barre3, and the Bar Method and nothing compares to the Union Method with Tami. Because this is a relatively small studio, you get a lot of great personalized attention. Tami is knowledgeable and inspiring. Her Barre and Cardio Circuit classes offer great well-​rounded workout options. I am so grateful to have found this studio!

This studio is amazing!
First of all, it’s a great location that is easy to find with lots of parking. The small class sizes allow your instructor to give you attention that you will not find in bigger studios and also are less intimidating. Tami is amazing! She pushes you in the best way! She supports whatever fitness level you’re at while challenging you to push further.
The Barre classes are intense! You work muscles you didn’t know you even had! Be prepared to be sore!
The Cardio Circuit class is no joke! If you want to burn up those calories you definitely have to give it a try!
Definitely recommend taking any classes at The Union Method!

You think, «how hard can it really be?» HA!!! Then you’re in barre class and you’re pulsing and holding and more pulsing and all of a sudden you can barely drive yourself home because your muscles are so fatigued. Yeah. And I thought I was in shape. Tami. Kicks. Your. Booty. That was my first time doing barre.
Then I tried a cardio class here. I thought, «how hard can it be?» HA!!! Not being able to breathe the whole time was a good sign I was getting my butt kicked, right? Again. Tami. Kicks. Your. Booty. She’s amazing. I’m thinking if I stick with it, I may get toned ;)

I tried only the Pure Barre classes and they are great. Very challenging and all your muscles burn but you power through knowing how much fat you are burning. Tami is an awesome instructor because she mixes it up every time so it’s never boring. The studio is very clean and the small classes are great.

I took Pure Barre before, but I like this studio more as it offers dance, yoga and pilates in addition to the barre workouts, so you get more bang for your buck. Also, you can go every day and the routines aren’t repetitive. All of the instructors are super friendly and the classes are kept small so you don’t have to worry about kicking someone in the face. My only suggestion to them is to mix the songs and playlists up a little bit — I hear them in my head when I sleep!

I tried out this new studio on Friday evening for their Ladies Hip Hop and Happy Hour event. It was such a great time!!! I got a great cardio workout and had a ton of fun doing it. The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the studio itself was very clean and organized. The Hip Hop instructor, Mari, was amazing and choreographed a class that everyone could be comfortable doing– even with no dance experience. Based on my positive experience, I’m excited to try the other classes offered every week– as well as other special events like the one I attended. It’s so nice to find a studio that offers pilates, barre and yoga all in a non-​intimidating, fun environment. I highly recommend you check this studio out!
