Twelve Baskets Catering

I don’t like to give terrible reviews, but there is no other choice in this case. Me and my wife decided we wanted to do breakfast for our wedding, and initially twelve baskets was very excited and helpful… fast forward eight months four days till our wedding and we had still not received a finalized quote or menu… to say the least my wife was stressed already and did not need the extra grief of worrying about if they were going to come through. Finally three days before we got everything finalized. The food was average, we were told numerous times by numerous people that we would have whole waffles, we only got quarter waffles and THE WORST thing is that my wife is gluten free and were promised gluten free waffles for her and her father… they were Eggo waffles out of the box. Sad and there were other issues with communication in regards to the time they were supposed to leave and the tip and etc. etc…I want to believe this was an isolated incident, but none the less they need to be held accountable and the fact they didn’t offer to compensate us for our troubles didn’t help me change my mind

We had a great experience with Twelve Baskets. Staff was super sweet, food was great. We hired them for a memorial and they definitely came through. Guests were pleased with the spread, displays were thoughtful. Servers were very personable and went out of their way to make it easy for us. Would definitely recommend to others. Thank you!

Best catering service ever; I would recommend them to anyone! We hired twelve baskets for my son’s first birthday party as we were having 60 people at our house. From the planning stages to final touches, twelve baskets was so easy to work with and really put forth tremendous effort to make sure that the party was a success. They set up everything so that it was ready to go on time, tended bar, cleaned up and packaged leftovers (what little was left since it was so delicious!) They were professional and thorough and the food was amazing. People are still complimenting the food and the service weeks after the event! Thank you so much!

A class act from beginning to end. Nice food, presentation, and sensitivity (we used them for a memorial). Worth the price to have literally no issues and great service.

I used 12 baskets for my wedding this summer and thought they did a wonderful job.
Leading up to the wedding my liaison was wonderful and helpful. Then it got switched to someone who was less responsive and that was a little frustrating but luckily they changed it back WOOHOO. That made my life a lot less stressful. (Thanks Kylie!!)
The day of I felt like we were really well taken care of by the staff. Unfortunately being the bride, I could barely eat but everyone else devoured the food for sure. haha!

12 Baskets did a fantastic job for our wedding in 2012. It’s both an art and a science to serve 300+ guests in a matter of 10 minutes!

Everyone at Twelve Baskets Catering was so helpful from start to finish. They helped us find a rental place that gave us an even better price for linens and china. They were pretty flexible with us making payments too. The food was absolutely delicious and the servers were extremely helpful. They even brought their own overlays and decorations in our wedding colors for the buffet table and bar.
Any questions or little changes I had in the process of planning was promptly answered and taken care of by a simple email to our consultant. Overall great service and great food! I highly recommend using them if you need catering for an event because the food is super tasty, they’re not overpriced, and they go out of their way to make your day special.

Couldn’t have asked for a better caterer/​event planner! Far exceeded my expectations when it came to all of the little details… they even brought glow bracelets to compliment our decorations! The food was AMAZING and the servers were absolutely wonderful and made our guests feel very welcome. I can’t wait to have them help plan our next event!

Twelve Baskets happened to be the caterer for my best friends wedding back in 2009, so I was happy to find them listed as a vendor for the wedding venue I had selected this past Aug (Sander’s Estate). We did a tasting with another caterer just to get some comparison, but at the end of the day, we just liked Twelve Baskets food and presentation better, so we booked them. It was an incredibly good decision!!! Every single guest I’ve talked to since commented on how great the food was… Including picky eaters, vegetarians and meat-​eaters alike. It made me feel so good and so proud to have hosted such an event for 180 friends and family, and to have everything go seamlessly; not to mention absolutely classy… The food and staff from Twelve Baskets was an enormous contribution to the night, and I’m ever grateful for their outstanding work and professionalism; they really took care of us and helped to make our wedding day one of the best days of my life.

We used Twelve Baskets for our June 2012 wedding. Like the reviewer below, we had originally looked into Lisa Dupar, Herban Feast, etc. Lisa Dupar fell down on communications, so we never even got so far as a tasting; Herban Feast gave us a quote that more than doubled Twelve Baskets’ estimate. We did a tasting with them, and guess what? It wasn’t as good as Twelve Baskets. Seriously, not even close.
We met a Twelve Baskets chef during our tasting, and he struck me as a true foodie, someone who really loves his craft. It comes through in his food. The flavors are much more interesting than typical wedding fare, with fresh herbs enlivening the sauces & subtle, layered heat in the tiny crab cakes.
At our wedding, we served three appetizers (including the delicious crab cakes and pear & brie tarts that disappeared by the handful), a seasonal salad, a choice of three entrees (salmon with dill sauce, chicken with blackberry sauce, and mac & cheese, with fresh vegetable sides), and a few desserts. Fresh bread, too.
My new husband adored the dill sauce. My mother told me it was the best salmon she’d ever eaten. I assume the desserts were excellent, but I didn’t get to try them because the buffet cleared out so quickly. My aunt and uncle, the priests who married us, said it was some of the best wedding food they’d ever had — and they’ve been to a lot of weddings.
Seriously, all our guests, who ran the gamut from «My diet consists of chicken nuggets & bread» Midwesterners to true gastronomists, were happy. I got to feel like I’d succeeded at sharing the best tastes of the PNW with my mid-​continent family and friends, which was a big part of the wedding objective.
So: price was great, food was great, and communication was also great throughout the planning process. I worked with Sara, who was responsive and even quite patient (I was having some health drama at the time, so I wasn’t the most on-​top-​of-​things bride).
And the cherry on top– this whole feast took place at a fairly remote location (no kitchen) where Twelve Baskets had never worked before.
Great, great value. I’d recommend them to any bride.

Twelve Baskets catered my son’s wedding and it turned out to be a horrific experience. The food was not as it had been presented at the tasting & parts of the meal were inedible. We could not have been more disappointed. Spoke to the owner for over a half hour following the ceremony — he could not come up with a plausible reason for their failure. Ended up taking some food items off the bill, but a wedding is a one-​time-​shot & it was just too little too late.

Twelve Baskets did a excellent job catering our wedding! We had a small space to fit a lot of people and Sara had plenty of ideas, experience, and input to help design a great plan that worked out well. The day of went smooth and the food tasted great! A few servers weren’t too thrilled or eager to cleanup some shrimp that had spilled onto a walk way, but only one of very few blemishes on the Twelve Baskets experience. If the Twelve Baskets menu and concept fit you, we definitely recommend using them.

They catered my friend’s wedding and RAN OUT OF FOOD! The number of guests matched the guarantee — they weren’t overrun by wedding crashers or anything. What kind of caterer runs out of food at a wedding? Their servers were really bad at pouring beer, too. When my friend complained to the company president, he offered a bunch of lame excuses about staff turnover and vacation schedules, and offered her «a couple gift cards» as compensation, like to gas stations or grocery stores.
I don’t recommend them!

We are using Twelve Baskets for our wedding. As a family with very… discerning tastes, we were looking at Portage Bay, Lisa Dupar, etc., and Twelve Baskets stole the show for half the price. They are attentive, beyond helpful, and the food is top-​quality for a modest price.
I am so excited to see everything come together at the wedding. I will update my review once it’s all said and done but, for now, I wouldn’t suggest anyone else.

They catered my wedding and people are still telling me how great the food was. YUM! I recommend their Salmon.

I’m happy the bride had a great experience, but as someone who plans parties I will never use Twelve Baskets. From the menus they proposed to the nasty attitude of the sales person — the entire experience was horrific.

Twelve Baskets catering is amazing! I would highly recommend them for any corporate event or wedding. They are so professional and easy to work with and their price range is not overwhelming.
I recently got married and they catered my wedding. The staff was always extremely polite when speaking on the phone and always called me back right away if I had a question. They are wonderful people to work with for a stressed out bride.
Out of all the tastings I went to during my planning this was the most elegant and highly professional one. They had a beautiful set-​up and it was easy to work with the staff who explained color coordinating, the prices of drinks, and had suggestion of their own.
Everyone who attended my wedding raved about the food. I think that might have even been the biggest hit of the night. The buffet was classy and the caterers helped with the set up and did such a wonderful job. I almost felt guilty that my first choice had been Susan Magan Catering but I am happy that fell through and she was so unprofessional so I could have Twelve Baskets to turn to.
