It doesn’t look like much, but being right next to the Police Station(hello, 2 year olds’ heros!) and a short walk to watch the trains go by, it’s pretty awesome. Keeps my 2 year old’s attention for longer than an hour. One time he got to sit in a police officer’s car and press the sirens. He was in heaven. They even have coloring books for kids inside the station. Would definitely recommend for the 1 to 3 or 4 year olds. Could be pretty boring for older kids.

One of the best parks in Kirkwood for the under 3 set, the swings, slides, and cars are all made just for little people!

My niece and I(whom is 2 at the time of this review), were looking for somewhere to relax and play until it was time to get her brother from middle school. Remembering there was a park close by, we decided to hang out and play. Enter McEntee Memorial Park. McEntee Memorial Park is located at the intersections of Clay and Madison just west of the Kirkwood Police Department. This half-acre park honors the memory of Police Sergeant Bill McEntee, who lost his life in the line of duty. The park has a playground that includes swings, slides, and a merry-go-round and is popular among children. Did you know that instead of rocks or wood chips, the playground uses foam like substance?(sorry, don’t know the correct terminology). In addition to the playground, there is a picnic area, Optimist Club gazebo, and benches offer a place for adults to relax or to watch the trains that go by on the Union Pacific tracks. The train tracks are north of the park. This is such a great park and within easy walking distance to downtown Kirkwood.
