Peppe’s is by far my most favorite restaurant in STL. I have eaten there many times and hosted a party for around 40 there earlier this year. Food is excellent, atmosphere is perfect and the staff are amazing. I am heading back tonight!

Some things never change… Peppe’s still does the best Veal Chop on earth! Quality of food and service is second to none.

This is one of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in some time. My wife and I joined four friends for dinner last night(Saturday). It was the first time I had been to Peppe’s The atmosphere is very friendly and festive. Everyone there seemed to be having a really good time. My only complaint was that it was a bit too loud. The food was outstanding and the wait staff couldn’t have been better. I had the chicken special and my wife had the scampi. Both were great — wonderful flavors, fresh and hot and nice presentation. Our friends all devoured their dinners too. We capped it off with the cannoli(s) for dessert. The order was small, but after the terrific entrees we weren’t looking for anything filling — just a little sweet — and we weren’t disappointed — these were wonderful too. We will definitely be back.

It has become a practice of mine to check Unilocal before I go to a restaurant the first time. When we arrived Perry came to our table to take our orders. He is a very knowledgeable guy and he shared his information with us for the wine selection. He steered us to a Tuscan red which was a very good match with my lamb at one entry and my wife’s filet mignon. I told Perry that I had read about him on Unilocal and he seemed taken aback. He asked me if it was good or bad. I told him I would not have said a word if it was bad. This place housed a little neighborhood market 55 years ago when I was a child. I was astounded to see the beautiful interior of today. We sat at a table placed where the old checkout was. There is a 5 seat table which takes the place of the candy cabinet where me and my siblings spent a lot of nickels and dimes. The wine list is not large but there is something on it for every taste. The menu itself is excellent, you need to check this place out. If you want to dine on the weekend, make a reservation!

I can’t say enough about this restaurant! From the time you walk in the door, the service is top notch! The food is absolutely amazing! We had the carpaccio appetizer and it was the best I ever had. We had the bone in rib eye with Gorgonzola and it was spectacular! I had the rigatoni special with bits of steak… wow! Pretty rich bit very very good. We shared a piece of tiramisu and had espresso. It was perfect from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Oh! Great wine list too!

Deliciouso! So yummy, and excellent service in this unique, romantic dining room. Don’t be shocked by it’s location, tucked away in a fine old home, in the middle of residential suburbia! Pepe is a great host, and the food is terrific.

My husband and I were given a $ 125 gift card as a wedding gift, and used it for Valentine’s weekend. Reservations were made three weeks in advance, no issues with reservations at all! The service was top notch and attentive with flair from Perry. As soon as we arrived we were greeted and seated by Peppe with an offer of water and drinks promptly by Perry. The dining room is very small with few tables, so definately make reservations! The only reason why it would be too loud is if the clientele made it so. Other than that there is no loud music, and a favorable ambiance. Sooo…dinner was nothing short of perfect… Ribeye for my husband of which all was finished and a huge bone left for our pups while I had the wide noodle pasta with shrimp and mushrooms. ¾ of my large pasta order was brought home as leftovers. Dessert, oh the dessert… cannolis and an expresso Marini for me. Do not miss the expresso martini… delicious and so smooth! The cannolis rival those from Missouri Bakery. Our total bill was $ 133 plus a tip. This included one appetizer, one salad, two entrees, two glasses of wine, one dessert, and one martini. Overall this newly wed couple from Illinois will be coming back… for a special occasion.

We made a reservation for 5:30 on a Saturday evening. The Friday before they called to tell us that they could not accommodate that reservation but we could come at 4:30 instead. We accepted. When it was time to order I wanted the Halibut special($ 35.00−40.00 in don’t remember exactly) which is topped with a lemon butter sauce.(I am allergic to lemon and all citris) I explained my allergy and asked the waiter to ask the chef is he could make some alterations. He politely reused to speak with the chef and said they would sprinkle it with olive oil. When I asked again– I was once again rebuffed. At this point, I waved over the maitre d’ and asked him to speak with the chef. He responded that the chef did not have time to make accommodations– not quite that blunt but it was made clear that my allergy would not be addressed. I should have walked out… instead I changed my order to the pasta special($ 20.00) — it was nothing special– I can make better pasta at home. The look on their face when I lowered my order so drastically was amusing. I have had this allergy for 18 years and this is truly the first time people were not jumping all over themselves to accommodate the allergy. I don’t need people to jump for me– but basic common sense should at least kick in. If you have a food allergy– go buy your $ 12.00 salad and $ 20 – 50.00 entrée somewhere else! Oh– and to get back to our 5:30 reservation– there were still 5 empty tables at 6:00 when we left.

We loved Gian Peppe’s on the Hill, and was glad I found this place thru Groupon. A great Italian eatery. If you’re a fan of Shrimp Scampi, go for it. I believe it’s the best I’ve had. Terrific service, and you will not be disappointed.

We gave gift cards to family last Christmas to dine here for dinner instead of going ourselves and they raved out Peppe’s. I called Tuesday morning for first available reservations and was able to get that evening for dinner. Peppe’s is a small, quaint little elegant restaurant. The bar is extensive with a wonderful bartender. Our waiter Perry was amazeballs!!! He knew the menu and was very knowledgeable and attentive. He gave us great suggestions for menu items and let me tell you he did not disappoint, every item he suggested was delicious. Now that’s the type of waiter I like. We began with drinks. Then ate some bread which is brought to the table hot with softened butter. Then we moved to the meatballs with polenta fries and house salad. Our entres were two of the three specials of the night and dessert was the perfect complement to end a fabulous meal. I was soo impressed I contacted the owner the next morning to rave about the entire experience and the staff. The halibut was perfectly grilled and the potatoes were delicate and delicious along with the sautéed green beans. The rigatoni with tri tip and peas in that beautifully rich cream sauce was extraordinary!!! And the panna cotta was the perfect light and airy ending to a five star meal. We can’t wait to return!!!

We had a marvelous dinner there tonight. The ravioli was incredible, as was the fish special. All of the salads were delightful. Our Server, Lucy was a kick! Good job everyone. We will definitely be back as soon as possible. Thank you for a lovely evening.

My wife and I ate at Peppe’s Apt 2 for the first time last night. It was undoubtedly the best meal we have had in St. Louis! Both the food and the service were excellent. Perry was our waiter and was extremely attentive without being the least bit overbearing. He was really friendly and allowed us to enjoy our time at the restaurant and appeared only when we needed something. Our food was prepared perfectly and arrived at an ideal pace. Both the Calamari and Scampi appetizers were scrumptious. My wife had a delicious Caprese salad and then the Veal Marsala. It was prepared perfectly. I enjoyed the Halibut special. There is also a fine selection of top shelf Italian wines. Our bottle of Chianti was great. We can’t wait to go back. We just found our new favorite restaurant! It was our 20th wedding anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it special for us. Attire is business casual or better. I saw a few people in shorts, but they looked out of place. I would recommend dressing up a bit. The dining room is really nice and intimate. We used to eat at Gian-Peppe’s on The Hill and have often lamented that it had closed. We are so happy to know that Peppe is back and better than ever with this fabulous restaurant!

I will echo what others have said, the food and service is exquisite. I felt out of place our first time there, because of how chic the restaurant is. We had been rehabbing my kitchen and wanted to go out for a really nice meal without getting dressed up. While we were able to get a last minute reservation, we were dressed very comfortably in jeans and nice casual shirts. We’ll know next time to get more dressed up. Highly recommend Peppes for a very special dining experience, especially if you want to impress your date.

Enjoyed another fantastic experience at Peppe’s last night. Peppe, Leo, and team made my birthday celebration very special! My wife and I have always had world class experiences every time we visit Peppe’s. The atmosphere is surreal and the food is, well, the best I’ve had in St Louis! I’d pick Peppe’s over any other Italian in town. Give Peppe’s a try… you will be blown away.

I can’t believe this place has been open for so long and I haven’t even really heard of it! The old lady and I were looking for a nice dinner on a Friday night after a long week of work and Peppe’s delivered. The place is small, but romantic, in an old two story house that has been converted into a place that serves up heaven on plates. Definitely make a reservation at least a week ahead of time though, as they book up quickly. For such a small restaurant, the menu had a good amount of options. On the side, they have a cute patio for lunch or a drink outside. I had the pasta on special($ 22) — rigatoni noodles with a sherry cream sauce and small bites of prime rib meat. It was one of the best pastas I have had. The gf ordered the veal satlimbocca which was also very good. Our server was a little know-it-all-y, which was a little annoying, but she was very attentive. This is a great spot to enjoy a nice romantic dinner. Pros: incredible food!, romantic setting, friendly staff Cons: little pricey, but well worth it.

This is actually more of a service review. Was extremely excited to dine at this restaurant. We were dining with two other couples and we had made reservations a week or two prior to the date. The reservations were also confirmed two days prior. Unfortunately when we arrived for our reservation, they had placed our reservations for the incorrect date. The restaurant is very cozy with only 12 tables. They were booked for the evening and unfortunately could not accommodate us. The host shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. Then asked us where we were going to dine. Given the caliber of restaurant, I was expecting a little bit more of an apology or even some form of accommodation. The reviews of the food and the restaurant look wonderful. I can’t wait to dine here at some point in the near future. At that point in time I hope to review the restaurant in more detail not just the host. I recommend if you have a reservation here, be sure to confirm, but I guess sometimes that doesn’t work either.

If you’ve ever considered coming here but didn’t, it’s probably because of the name. Understated is one thing, but to claim you’re in an apartment? I don’t get it. So you know: They are a regular restaurant in a commercial building with a parking lot, so have no fear. You won’t be seated on the sofa. It’s a very nice, classy restaurant. Kind of small, with an atmosphere that’s lively but not too loud. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. Prices are a bit on the high side, although just about all their entrees were under $ 30, plus they offer a smaller portion of both the pastas and entrees. The small pastas are plenty for us and run about $ 17. We shared a dinner salad, then had the pasta special, which was rigatoni with tenderloin and prosciutto in cream sauce, and veal saltimbocca, smaller version. The salsd was great, and the veal was easily the best I’ve had in St. Louis — and I’ve had some pretty good veal saltimbocca. It was approximately five times better than the same dish at Cunetto. You know you have a great Italian meal when the side veggies even make you swoon. The pasta was a bit of a disappointment, though. It was okay, nothing memorable. This came as a surprise after the waitress raved about the sauce. We both thought it needed more flavor. Overall, we loved this restaurant. We’ll definitely have it on our list for future special occasions. IF you go on a weekend, be sure and make a reservation. Probably a week in advance would be a good idea.

I’ve been to Peppe’s several times now, and I’m so glad my husband and I were introduced to this little gem. The place is very small, so reservations are a must. There are maybe a dozen tables inside and a few more tables in a small garden patio area outdoors. The ambience here oozes romance, and I’m a sucker for romance… just ask my husband. ;-) It is dimly lit by a few gorgeous chandeliers and everything is white. White floors, white chairs, white table linens, white ornate mirrors hanging on the walls. I. LOVE. IT. The menu offers a handful of pasta dishes along with several Italian entrees. Everything I’ve ever tried here has been delicious, and tonight was no exception. I started with a fresh tomato mozzarella salad and moved on to a rigatoni primavera dish. The«sauce» is a light garlic olive oil that adds just the right amount of flavor. The pastas all come in two sizes, and the small was a perfect amount for me. My husband ordered his favorite off the menu here… cannelloni. After trying a bite, I understood why he liked it so much. I’m already looking forward to our next visit…
