It didn’t seem very busy to me today, but service was sparse. The staff is very skilled at avoiding eye contact. After trying to get their attention for about 45 minutes poolside, we went to the covered area for a table. It still took another 15 minutes to be greeted. The food was pretty plain and boring, not much value for the crazy prices. The only winning item on their menu turned out to be the pitcher of sangria.

Made the mistake of eating here on our first day at the resort. My family and I hung out by the pool for about 2 hours and had fun. A family came and sat about 2 seats away and they immediately had someone come«name sure they were doing ok» and took their order. My husband, waiting patiently outside the pool, never even got a hello from their wait-staff. Finally, he walked up to the restaurant and ordered. When he was done with his order he asked if they could deliver the meal to us pool-side. They said they couldn’t do that. 30 minutes later he returned to us with our food. 30 seconds later a waiter came and delivered food to our loud and obnoxious neighbors. When I asked why they got their food brought to them the waiter said, «oh you ordered at the bar so we can’t bring you food if you order there.» Ah… so you just ignored us completely and then provided shitty service overall? Good to know. Overpriced, shitty meal with horrible service.

I have been extremely underwhelmed and disappointed with just about Gaylord overall. For the price in Orlando you can get a lot more at Hilton properties. My experience of standing at a bar that was barely half full with two small kids to be completely ignored and then Brent the bartender from Tampa to blatantly take someone in front of me that just walked up is about the last straw. I’ll be writing another one star review of the hotel concerning their check in process as well. A Huge disappointment.

EXPENSIVE! Average food, watered down drinks that for $ 15 were NOT worth it. Waiter forgot to put in part of our order, my friend and I each got the wrong checks AND I got charged twice for the very mediocre meal. Would have expected a bit more.

The food was good, what little they had to choose from. We spent 3 days hanging by the pool and I ordered the same thing Caesar salad every day. It was good but there wasn’t enuf variety on the menu to try anything else. Same for my son, hot dog everyday. I was pregnant so I couldn’t have any fun drinks but I did have a few lemonaides and virgin strawberry daiquiris which were good. However everything on the menu seemed a little pricey. The waiters were pretty good. I know they were busy but kept checking on us which was nice. All in all its nice becuz it’s right by the pool and I don’t have to get up and dry my kid off to go find something to eat so we will be eating there the next time we stay at the resort.

Chips and salsa are awesome! Great burgers Awesome Turkey BLT wraps Wings were pretty good! A restaurant that actually has a kids menu! Great bar and outside seating over looking the pool! I would definitely come here if you are at the Gaylord. Prices are better than the other restaurants :)

Spend three days by the poolside! Got the great service and drinks! Tried variety of drinks, the funky monkey(very creamy sweet taste) and watermelon cucumber lemonade(fresh) are the best! Plus, The boneless wing are good too!

Service is great. Can’t deny that… menu isn’t too fulfilling but then again it’s a pool bar. I haven’t tried any of the frozen or signature drinks but I did ask for a recommendation on the food and the waiter recommend the chicken quesadillas. You can’t go wrong with chicken, cheese and tortilla. So it was pretty good.

This bar is in a great location and could be awesome… but the service is so slow that I just cannot recommend it.

Holy hell this place is expensive! Two«poolside» lemonades came to $ 29 and were your typical 12 – 14 oz plastic cup size. Also, they were neon green which was very odd. They did taste ok. Later the kids were losing their minds about being hungry and needing a snack so we ordered blue cheese and balsamic fries. They were super tasty, but I believe they were also pricy($ 14?). Last point, waiters are supposed to roam the pool area and one had not been to our section for almost an hour. Not a big deal to walk over and order, but takes away from that resort feel when service is spotty. Once the waiter came over, he was fantastic — funny, apologetic, etc. Next time we are here we will eat first or being snacks and drinks.

Boooo! I hope that says it all. The food really isn’t good. I had a cabana at the Gaylord, so I decided we’d eat lunch from the Sandbar menu. My kids ordered a hot dog and a cheeseburger. I ordered a barbecue chicken flatbread. The flatbread was so cafeteria-like it was ridiculous. My hungry husband came from the conference and I was trying to get him to finish 3 of the 4 pieces of flatbread, but he could only bear to eat 2 pieces… and he was actually hungry! I can’t believe those items rung up to $ 40 when they didn’t even taste good and weren’t made with quality ingredients. Huge margins these guys must be making on food! I will say that the servers are attentive and accommodating.

Poolside dining always feels like being on vacation. The Sandbar is a covered-patio bar at the Gaylord Palms pool that has an island theme and relaxed staff. It made lunch feel like a mini-vacation from a conference. Because Sandbar is an outdoor poolside bar, the central Florida weather/humidity may not make it great for all days, but a small group of co-workers took a quick-lunch vacay between thunderstorms this past week. The menu is small, but typical bar basics like sandwiches, a burger, salads, and a few appetizers. You can have food brought to you at one of the many lounge chairs or a table by the bar. The Butcher’s Blend Burger($ 15) with a side of Fries was my safe choice. The burger has Cheddar Cheese and Bacon on a Regular Bun. It’s not fancy or special, but was what I expected. Service was fairly quick … and I’m glad because just as we paid the bill, a flash storm hit with heavy rain that seemed to fall sideways. It was time to run back inside as if God said«Mini-vacation over. Back to the conference.»

This place has one of the lesser expensive menu items, if you are looking for a relatively cheap place to eat at the Gaylord Palms. I was at a conference, and we had very little time to eat. Honestly, I would have avoided it, if I could have, because it was outside in the muggy Florida heat. I ordered the burger, which had cheese and bacon on it, and it came with french fries. There wasn’t anything special about the burger, but the bacon and cheese sure made it pretty good. My favorite part of the meal was the french fries. They add seasoning salt on it, which is my favorite topping for french fries. As well, they were crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside, just like a good fry should taste. From my experience at the other restaurants here, I would say that this place is a decent choice. Plus side is that you get to sit outside(under an umbrella) and enjoy the outside. This is also a great place to grab a bite if you are AT the pool and don’t want to have to dry off and go inside to eat something.
