We had a delightful lunch here consisting of ham salad croissant, wedding soup, Bonello burger, and something new for us — pizza soup. Ham salad is the traditional taste I grew up with that uses a salty ham and onions. Croissant was very big and tasty. Burger seemed to maybe be ground in house, treated kind of like a pizza burger,(as my soup) and my wife enjoyed it. Wedding soup was very good on the slightly salty side. Pizza soup was a tomato soup base with pepperoni, peppers, croutons, pizza spices(or maybe added pizza sauce) and mushrooms. It was a solid ok in my book but the mozzarella melted on top made it a chore to eat. Service was excellent and fun. The waitress had everyone laughing as she took care of us. Lots of locals eat here and they know everyone by name. We will definitely stop again when in the area. Don’t think you will find anything better in the area for a casual meal.

I love this place! Favorite downtown restaurant. I usually only go for breakfast and get blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes. My mom loves the cinnamon roll pancakes as well(I’m not a cinnamon fan but they look really good– they have icing swirled all over the top). It is a small restaurant without many customers so you usually get served pretty quickly although I have observed some customers being ignored and having to wait up to an hour.

The Salmon Benedict is quite good! I’ve had it twice now and I’ll go back for it in the future.

I think it’s important to say this is a small town place. Now repeat this. Again. Again. Have you read in between the lines? Come here for a blast from the past. Stopped in on my way from Pittsburgh to the Allegheny National Forest. It was one of the only places 40 miles outside of Pitt that was halfway decent according to Unilocal and Google, and open. In retrospect, should have grabbed something in Pittsburgh. Anyone from a larger metropolitan area be prepared for an old-timey, diner-type, culture shock. On the front of their menu they proudly proclaim not using any salt or butter. When I asked about it, they said it’s because people like different seasoning. All you homegrown foodie snobs will understand why this is wrong. They do also state having fresh chuck daily and processing their own burger meat. This is probably the way to go here. It’s a shame they ruin it by preparing the burger unseasoned. The skirt steak spinach salad with their homemade ranch was good. Skip the mozz, it was dry and I was glad I had it on the side. Their rendition of turkey hoagie is actually fried deli sliced turkey with yellow, melted American cheese. Hoagies are not by default served hot so I was left confused. The hoagie was not so good. Double fried fries were OK. Come here out of no other options, but not if you can hold out for something better. The atmosphere is cozy, country diner with all kinds of coffee-loving pictures and frames. There’s an assortment of booth, table and bar seats. The booths’ prime years have passed and now what remains is a bulgy and springy symphony. Bathrooms are clean. Service was so-so. Took a little while for our orders to be taken, but food came out quick albeit we were 1 of 3 parties. Server was a challenge — couldn’t describe the available dressings… Hmm.

Nice people. Quaint spot. Very helpful and friendly. We were with our two younger kids and they made sure we were comfortable. Very reasonable prices for their menu items and specials. We ordered an omelette, French toast, and pancakes were for my son. Everything came quickly, and was delicious. Great local spot, good prices, and service was excellent. We will head there tomorrow before heading back out of town.

Solid breakfast choice. We enjoyed the gingerbread pancake special and the special scramble. Its definitely a diner that’s been there a while, but it felt homey rather than dated. Good sweet potato fries too!

Great place for a comfortable and slow breakfast or a fast meal on the go. Service is just right: checking in and refilling drinks but not intrusive. Most times I’ve been there for breakfast but lunch is also a treat. I like supporting a local business, too.

Yum! Stopped in for lunch & we decided to go with two of the daily specials. I had the Music Man sandwich which is a delicious grilled ham & cheese on grilled marble rye w/lettuce, tomato, and a homemade honey mustard dressing. The combination works very well! Hubby went w/the Golden Ranch Chicken sandwich — a juicy chicken breast with cucumber and ranch on a ciabatta bun — a cool & light meal on a very warm day! Service was local & friendly, never once ran low on beverages. Clean & quaint — I really enjoyed our experience. :-)

Went here for breakfast/lunch(pancakes, scramble, chicken tenders, chicken wrap). Average diner food and service.
