Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kittanning

BEWARE OF TIMESHARE SCAM WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS… Earlier in the year I made reservations to stay in numerous Holiday Inn Express Hotels to drive across country. I spent $ 1200-​$ 1500. While making reservations I was offered a great vacation in a resort for $ 199 being under the impression the deal was due to accumulating points as a result of the numerous reservations being made. Let me just say if I were clearly aware on the phone this deal was a timeshare and attending a sales seminar was necessary I would have said no on the spot, no matter what the deal was. When I attempted to make reservations months later for the «deal» I found out it was a timeshare scam. I contacted Holiday Inn and asked for a refund of the $ 199 which had already been charged to my credit card. I was directed to 3 different people, all snarky and not helpful. All just repeated «The phone calls are recorded» and «It’s in writing … No refunds. «Even if that were the case I didn’t want or need a refund until I discovered the information on the original call was not clear and this was in fact a timeshare sales situation All in all I was treated very poorly and my Gold membership might as well be Brown. I would have used Holiday Inn for all of my hotel needs for life, as the individual locations we stayed in were good. I would have spent over $ 1,000 again with Holiday Inn Hotels. However, after this scam experience and the manner in which I was treated, I will never use a Holiday Inn or IHG property again. I have asked for a copy of the original paper they sent me as well as requested a copy of the recorded phone call so that I can hear for myself where the timeshare /​sales seminar part was mentioned. I have been ignored on this request so far. There are several reviews from other unhappy people on trip advisor regarding these scams. The IHG corporate website states Code of Conduct matters to them. Unfortunately after this experience I beg to differ. Beware consumers!

I love this Hotel! On our latest trip we had reservations at another hotel outside of Pittsburgh, but it was terrible and decided to stay up here for our second night. We had planned to visit family so it worked out all right.
The hotel staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. I am a rewards member, and if you travel frequently I recommend signing up. When you make a reservation you get a free snack (I chose popcorn) and a bottled water.
Our room was on the first floor and it was a bit noisy with the phone ringing and people coming and going — but it quieted down by 10pm. If you are a light sleeper make sure to request a room on a higher floor. I was woken up by some rowdy merry-​makers coming in around 10 to midnight. I think they were probably coming from a wedding or something. The room itself is clean. You can smell the freshness in the sheets and towels. I LOVE THAT! There are firm and soft pillows on each of the beds — and they are even labeled!
The fitness center is small but sufficient. Bring a swimsuit because the pool is nice as well. Free wi-​fi had a strong connection. A complimentary hot breakfast is provided with eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, and more.
This is definitely the best hotel in Kittanning, so stay here!
