Piscataqua Obedience Club

This is not a place to take your dog if you have behavior problems or any reaction/​aggression problems. It is all very generic and the large size of the group causes all sorts of different problems. Waiting in a crowded hallway for one thing doesn’t help the socialization of the puppy. Each week I brought my dog in, she became more and more anxious and I ended up with more problems than I came with. I had to spend more money de-​socializing her with another trainer.
Come to find out, I should have never even tried to pass the Good Citizen test at my puppies age of only 6 months. It was suggested by the trainer here that I should, and so I proudly tried. But this ws not the right route to take with her as a German Shepherd. So I tried their nose work class to give her more attention, and that showed the she did have a great working drive, but all we did was stand around and wait for our turn which lasted all of 4 minutes. All the waiting made my puppy crazy. I wish I had never taken her there. I have had to correct all the wrongs that were done.

I went to an event that this group put on in York Maine at Ellis Park. Little did I know how unsafe it was. An incident happened where a dog jumped out of the ring and attacked another dog, resulting in an injury to that person and their dog right in front of us. Come to find out, they have no other Kennel Club affiliation (such as the AKC and UKC) and had absolutely no protocols in place for the safety of their spectators.
Not one person from the club came over to see if the injured parties were okay. It was later reported to the York Police department.
