Get the carnitas; they are literally the best I’ve had in NC and I’ve tried them all over this state. This place has not changed from years ago when I first discovered it. While the salsa and combination dinners won’t blow your mind, the carnitas and chile pablanos are well worth the stop through Knightdale. The staff is friendly, the servings are big and they have great beer specials.

I can’t say enough good things about how well this place handles large groups. We come here after our Cub Scout planning meetings with a big group of parents and kids, and there servers are always SUPER great and accommodating. There food is always great as well. This is a place everyone should support!

Ordered steak tacos. Food came out in about a minute and a half. Steak was bland and dry, like it had been cooking in a pot all night and just scooped onto a plate and served. Maybe that’s why it only took 90 seconds to come out.

So I drove out to knightdale to pick up a friend before heading to the outlets in Smithfield and just had to have lunch here! We arrived for a late lunch and I was surprised at how busy it was! There was a large party ahead of us but we were seated and our server was attentive-our chips and salsa arrived and we placed our drink order. I was impressed with the service-we placed our order and it was brought out to our table quickly. I ordered the shrimp chimichanga and omg, it was perfect! Great flavor! The meal was really enjoyable. We had to wait I’m line to cash out, but again the line moved quickly and the customer service was impeccable! Keep up the great food and service. It’s not often that I get out to Knightdale, but when I do, I make a point to stop in here and get some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! Thank you!’

Just ate here and probably should have walked out after tasting the salsa, but we stayed. Now I will say this, the services was great. The staff were on top of everything, didn’t have any problem with the service. Having said that, the food was remarkably underwelming. I would say at the same level if not below that of Taco Bell. The salsa tasted like canned tomatoes blended up with some onion. The rice and beans had no flavor whatsoever. But what was even more offensive was the cheese they put in the cheese enchilada. They claimed it was shredded mozzarella, but it tasted like cheap american cheese u put on a sandwich. And the beef looked like the«beef» taco bell uses and tasted worse. Not only would discourage people from eating there I would recommend that the cook be fired and the recipes be thrown out. There is one way that what was served to me could be considered mexican food.

Awesome Mexican food. The El Señor fajitas are incredible and the margaritas always hit the spot. The service is always spot on and the table turn around time is pretty quick so you will not have to wait to long. You will not be disappointed.

It’s not the best, but it’s the only Mexican restaurant in knightdale! So we’re not given many options in Latin dining. But for what we have it’s ok. The drinks always taste like dirty ice, the beans and rice are both completely tasteless and the meats don’t seem to contain much, if any, flavor either. But the chips/salsa are good, and as long as the food is smothered in cheese it’s tolerable. The service is what makes it a 2 start instead of a 3. Every visit is subpar, with servers who will be rude if something is not right with your order. We can either be sitting forever before we even get drink orders(and even forget to take someone’s order!) or we get served right away and nicely. It’s just too big of a toss up to really say either way.

Visited today for lunch for the first time. Just OK in our opinion. Salsa and chips were good. I had a taco and an enchilada. Fiancé had the fried chimichangas. Food was very bland and lacking in flavor. Rice and beans were run of the mill and we much prefer Los Tres Magueyes in Wake Forest.

Average but consistent Mexican food. It’s pretty typical Tex-Mex, so your opinion of their food is going to be heavily influenced by what quality of Mexican food you’re used to. I’d say its above average for the Raleigh area n general. If you’re in Knightdale its a good lunch/dinner option.

Sorry. 2 stars = «Meh, I’ve experienced better.» I’m not saying El Señor is bad, but I have, more often than not, experienced better. The mole sauce tasted like straight-up Hershey’s syrup once… that was probably the worst experience. The only time I had anything with shrimp, it was a scooch too unfresh, or unwashed, or both. Other than that, the basic stuff is OK, but I have had better at other places.

Our«go to» Mexican Restaurant. Get the Seafood Chili Pablano with shrimp or the El Compansino. The salsa with chips is free and good. Fresh tasting and filling. The cheese sauce is great. My kids love the Vegetarian C.

Being from Los Angeles, I’ve always loved Mexican food. Sadly, this is barely average. The staff is super nice, but the food is bland and the salsa lacks flavor as well. I wish they’d improve… I live right down the street and would love to be a regular, but until they do, I’ll make Mexican food at home.

Good traditional Mexican restaurant with drinks specials. Have tried just about everything on the menu, great combos and value. The burrito deluxe, tacos, and quesadillas are perfect. Weekly margarita and beer specials are nice. Service is always fast and friendly, and you can’t beat the price. My only suggestion would be to get a new salsa… pretty bland, and that is key for a Mexican dish. It almost like plain tomato sauce. Chips and Queso is great, helps make up for the sauce.

This is quite possibly the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. I gave it 1 star because I had to for the review. The salsa tasted like someone opened a can of salsa, which should have been an indicator. Usually you can tell if a place is good or not by their salsa. Won’t be coming back to this one, seriously Taco Bell is a much better option.

We moved away from here 8 years ago but when passing through, we always stop to eat here. Love, love their ceviche. Tastes so fresh. I used to share with my young daughter but now that she’s 8 we both insist on our own plate. Yum! Service is great and locally owned!

Great food, and service! Indeed ask for the hot salsa, it’s smoky flavor and texture rivals that of the«crushed stewed tomatoes» salsa they routinely bring with the first basket of chips. I enjoyed the Spinach/Mushroom quesadilla, and had them add chorizo sausage. yum! My guy ordered al a carte and enjoyed every choice — burrito deluxe, beef soft taco and chile relleno(cheese only). The ‘medium’ margarita was large enough, that we shared it!
