Mimi’s Tanning Shak

The girls that work there are really nice, especially Faye. The tanning beds are high quality. The price is cheap. I would recommend this place to anybody!

I only go to this tanning salon for spray tan so I cannot speak about the quality of the beds or lotions. I always buy a Groupon and use it over the course of the summer months to get my mystic tan on. Sometimes it’s as cheap as seven dollars. The check in process is easy — just show them the Groupon your first time and then give them your name from then on. You don’t need an appointment.
As far as the spray tan goes, I’ve always had good results with the dark tan. I’ve added a scent before and while it makes the initial spray tan smell better, it doesn’t do anything for the stinky foot smell that you’re left with as the spray tan takes effect. The salon has free nose and eye guards in the rooms for the spray tan. They also give you a towel and blocker lotion for your hands and feet. If you want sticky pads for your feet, they cost extra — I think two or three dollars — but I always just lay down my towel and stand on it instead. Don’t get confused about which way to stand because you’re tell covers up the numbers and you’ll end up looking like Ross a la Friends 1995.
There are two reasons that I knock it down a couple of stars — one is the carpet. Tear the carpet out and put in tile. The carpet looks gross. The second reason is they have a minimum for credit cards and debit cards. Slightly annoying but it’s cheap enough not to matter.
All in all, go here for a spray tan. It’s a cheap, quick, in and out visit.
