I took a lottery ticket in to collect. It was a $ 5.00 winner plus a free ticket. The older fat lady scanned the ticket and gave me my free ticket. I said that’s it? She said that was all I had won. This is not the first time this has happened at other stores. Be advised to question the clerk.

I’ve been here a few times and I keep having the same negative experience. The female employees that I’ve interacted with are doing fine, but the male ones are an entirely different story. The tall, thin man with dark hair has never been friendly or helpful. Any questions asked are met with an inaudible grumble and the overwhelming feeling that you have annoyed him.
I keep going out of my way to be friendly, hoping that it would be reciprocated, and I have still never seen anything close to a smile. I know a smile probably isn’t in his job description, but surely providing friendly service is!
I don’t want anyone to lose their job, especially in this economy, so that isn’t my intent here. I’m just very surprised that someone who obviously doesn’t want to interact with the public, in any way whatsoever, would be working in this position. This is an excellent coaching opportunity.
Or, you could get a whole new crew, because for me you only get one more chance. I always buy Shell gasoline so that has brought me back here after similar past experiences. If my next visit is another repeat of the past then I will happily drive 5 minutes out of the way to a Shell that wants my business. Or, at the very least, can put in the effort to make me feel like they want my business and not like my mere presence has interrupted their day!

This is a Shell gas station. I think there’s a Wendy’s or something attached as well but I go here for gas and will occasionally get the kiddos an ice cream at the usual jacked up convenience store prices or a baked good. That have big muffins, cookies etc the usual gas station fare. I give it five stars because it is usually the cheaper of the two Shell stations in this area around East Town Mall and because the bathrooms are clean. The times I’ve been inside the staff has been friendly.
