Goodness To Go

I live less than a mile from this place and looked forward to trying it ever since the «lunch ladies» were featured on the local news. One weeknight evening, I stopped in to grab a sandwich on the way home, around 5:00. After I had been waiting a couple minutes, a lunch lady emerged from the back, helped two other customers, and then took my order. The service seemed really slow, but I had high hopes for the food so I patiently waited.
Goodness to Go advertises a large selection of freshly baked bread. I was happy to see several bread options, and chose wheat. I was informed they were out of it. Next, I chose rye — also out. Finally, I settled for white bread. I noticed that there were whole loaves of wheat for sale. I’m not sure why they didn’t offer to open one of those, but whatever. At that point, I just wanted to get some food and get out of there.
I waited an eternity for them to make my sandwich, which wound up being underwhelming, especially for $ 8. It was small, and haphazardly thrown into a box with a few blue tortilla chips and a sad little pickle spear. It would have been nice to at least have a choice of side — maybe a small cup of fruit or a small cup of one of their salads. I didn’t like the bread that much, and the serving of curry chicken salad was miniscule.
The teenager who rang up my order seemed to have an attitude problem and barely said a word. I really wanted to like this place, and I love to support local businesses, but I doubt I’ll return.

Awesome fresh food to go!!! Stop by for excellent pick up food… staff and food exceed all expectations!!!

I am loving this place! Rocky Hill needed a place like this, and the owners here know what they’re doing! I particularly love their scones and drop in on my mid-​morning drive. The staff is extremely friendly, and they are always happy to see me.

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. I looked at there website and made an online order. Oh my goodness, my food was amazing!!! I ordered the black bean burger (something they offer daily) and picked up a loaf of bread and pimento cheese. Unbelievably great. When I got there, the staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back there soon.
