Seeking some decent Chinese, I ordered some takeout at House for the first time and hoped for the best. Kung Pao Chicken, House LoMein, and chicken wings. The meal was just short of terrible but I gave them two stars because the kung po was spicy. Other then that, the kung pao had 3 peanuts and zero carry-over sauce so the overall texture was dry with no way to save it. Plus, with no sauce, I took a pass on the extra dry fried rice that came with the dish. The lomein was watery, had very little vegetables or meat and even less flavor. All that said, the chicken wings were still the worst part. Scrawny, dry, terribly over cooked, every bite was like ripping through unseasoned beef jerky. Still needing a Chinese fix. maybe next week.

I read the reviews while I was waiting on my order to be delivered, so I expected the worst! The food is delicious though. The service was fine. He kept asking me «are you sure?» when I ordered something, but I feel like that was just a language barrier thing. Not rude, by any means. Food was hot and I received it pretty quickly. $ 12 order minimum for delivery and then a $ 2 delivery charge — to be expected. Lighten up Unilocalers! It’s delivery Chinese food in Knoxville, TN. There’s not many of those around here! UPDATE: So I either threw away my receipt or realized I didn’t get it from the delivery person. I called and they immediately offered to fax me a new one. So, I would dare say the service is great!

Good food but I just wanna give 4 stars because of the cold service. We ordered Sweet and sour pork and Szechuan spicy chicken. Very good taste. But the bad service made me unhappy.

The only positive about this place is that they deliver and the delivery driver was nice. After that it goes down hill quick. I ordered hot & sour soup, no crunchy noodles or spoon. The egg roll was cold & over cooked. The chicken fried rice had absolutely no flavor, it tasted like minute rice with a few veggies and totally pain chicken with no seasoning at all. To make things even worse, it was all overpriced. If you’re in south Knoxville, stick with Ming Dynasty on Chapman Hwy, they’re the best Chinese food restaurant in this part of town & they have a drive-thru.

The food is not good and the people answering the phones are extremely rude. I was told my food would take 45 min to be delivered and after 30 min I got a call saying my card didn’t go through. After we got that worked out, I asked how much longer it would be and I was told it was on the way and that if I wanted it faster, I should’ve «come and gotten it myself.» For real, she actually said that to me. I live 10 min tops from this place. I didn’t get my food until over 45 minutes after the second phone call. I will never get food from there again. If you’re looking for good Asian delivery I would call Szechuan garden or go to Osaka.

Not a bad place to eat. Might not have the friendliest order taker but the food gets the job done. Lunch deals are good, you get quite a bit of food !

I’ve eaten here so many times and have had no complaints. I moved here from NYC and while I was there, I never appreciated having Chinese outside since my mom cooks it all the time. But whenever I get a craving now, this is where I go. It’s funny because someone said they preferred Dynasty Express over this place but I cannot disagree more. I gave DE a chance since I didn’t want to hike all the way down the strip to HoD but I will never make that same mistake again. Don’t come here looking for a food to be «vegan» or the place to have a fancy atmosphere. Come here for delicious food at a good price and large portions. Be polite and smile, and they will treat you respectfully. If you expect to be waited on hand and foot, you’re just wasting your time.

Terrible food. Flavorless. Old broccoli, bad meat, and mush«fried rice». Girlfriend and I ordered in and didnt finish half of it. Waste of $ 20.

I really love this place! The food is great! They have traditional Americanized dishes if that’s what you’re looking for or for that friend that likes to «play it safe», but their Malaysian and Thai menus are something I suggest everyone try something from. My personal recommendations are the Mee Hoon, Mee Goreng, and Rendang Beef. I uaually have House of Dragon at least once a week. The staff is great, both in person and for delivery and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of food you get.

The food is all right, and the only service I have utilized is delivery. Pretty standard chinese food with standard delivery– I’m happy but it’s not awesome.

Warning for students. Actual Chinese people eat here. You wont like it. Actually the owners are malaysian. if you want a real treat order from the malaysian section of the menu. One of the last authentic family owned asian joints in knoxville. Also, they arent so chipper when it comes to a bunch of sorority girls so if people in your crew say OMG! and Ewwwww and Hella dont expect great treatment. They love my kids and give them sweets all the time, and always seem very happy to see my family.

A Chinese haunt on the strip. I ate here a few times and knew someone who worked here for a while. Neither of us liked the experience. The restaurant is a bit cavernous and the service is poor. The old man is boorish and the young woman is just aggressive and rude. I didn’t like the flavor of their food anywhere as much as Dynasty Express, and hardly ate here after the exploration phase. This appeared to be the general impression of UT students as well. Two strange fellows I knew loved the Shrimp Chow Mein from here, and dragged me along a few times. I didn’t eat that entrée(I don’t trust fast-food Chinese restaurants with seafood), so maybe it was good. I just don’t know.
