Very cool little place to go for breakfast lunch or dinner. Very dog friendle. If you go there on weds or sat they have a farmers market. Please if you like sweets look for the girl with the white cake boxes she has the most ridiculous sick sweets. Oh god the rasberry chocolate oat bars are to die for. Great tasty foods.

MARKETSQUARE Market Square is a large square located in the heart of downtown Knoxville. It is surrounded by a variety of restaurants,(mostly American) and a variety of shops. The square is very large and is a gathering place for visitors, residents and«free spirits». Today there was a gospel performance in progress as we roamed about looking for something to eat. Although there were several restaurants with outdoor eating options, they didn’t catch our attention. We just wanted to explore options other than American. I also wish the restaurants would post their menus out side for the sake of convenience. The square is the perfect place to meet friends, hang out and listen to music. Although there is seating provided, I would probably just bring my own food and chair to enjoy an outdoor concert or other activity. I hear that they also have a farmer’s market and that is definitely worth checking out!

I love the downtown area. Market square is the center of it all. While a few of my favorite restaurants have moved or closed, a new one is popping up every few months or so. I love the variety and culture that are found throughout downtown!

I plan on moving to Knoxville in about 1 – 2 years, because this place has literally everything I value. I visited the Market Square today, and it really helped to make my decision quite a bit. It was beautiful, with amazing shops(my favorite is Earthbound and the little coffee/tea shop), a public art park, plenty of greenery, water bowls all over the place for dogs, water fountains for people and one below for animals, and fountains for kids to run through and play. It was gorgeous and peaceful. There were a few people playing music for cash too, and they sounded great! Also, the parking garages are free on weekdays(unless it is a holiday) and weekends after 6:00PM.

Market Square really gets to show off what Knoxville is. It has free concerts weekly, a nice little park, amazing restaurants, and farmer’s markets. Would I recommend this? Definitely visit if you are in Knoxville

Cute and quaint little square with a small town feel to it. They have some trees and a path in the middle of the square which is a nice touch to a pedestrian-friendly square. Shops and restaurants on both sides.

Market Square is hip with a Southern hospitality. Man, I am really digging all the awesome brick Western style architecture. It has a small town feel, with great vibe feel especially since a large portion of UT students hangout here, especially at night! There were a few Mom and Pops cafes, and tons of places to eat, and take a nice stroll and enjoy the relax chill feel! I really enjoyed the park with the waterfall. When we were here on business, there was an art fair setting up. Wished we could’ve stayed longer to find out what it was all about. This place is a definite must see if you’re ever in Knoxville. «I DODECLARE!!» Until then, ~ Cheers! :p

Neat little Market Square in Knoxville, TN. On a beautiful day, it is fun to take a stroll through to see what the vendors have to offer. Pet Friendly… but watch out for those little yappy dogs!

Market Square has to be my favorite place to hang out in Knoxville. I moved to Ktown last fall and got to spend a few weeks people watching in the Square before it got too cold to do that. I have been able to resume that hobby this spring and it has been nothing short of fantastic. Market square is a pedestrian mall in downtown Knoxville. The Square is surrounded by good restaurants(although a handful of the restaurants leave a lot to be desired), really unique shopping and bars. Most of the restaurants have outdoor seating available, which is wonderful when the weather is nice. I believe that all the restaurants also allow pets on their patio. My dogs love to come to the square with me. It is the perfect place to socialize with people and other pets. There is an interactive fountain in the middle of the Square and it is wonderful to watch kids and adults play in it. There is a beautifully renovated hotel on the Square(The Oliver Hotel), which also happens to house probably my favorite bar in the world(Peter Kern Library). You have to visit the PKL when you are downtown. Can’t overemphasize that. There is a pretty big stage at one end of the Square used for live music and plays. Jazz on the Square and Concerts on the Square are held on this stage Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the spring/early summer. I am looking forward to going to see Shakespeare on the Square later this summer. I have also heard about free movies on the Square on Fridays in the summer. You can count on seeing me there when that picks up. Don’t forget the seasonal Farmer’s market on Wednesday and Saturday. As well as the open air iceskating rink in the winter. And the endless activities that occur during the year, like the Monsanto GMO protest this afternoon. Multiple festivals also take place in and around the Square. Like the recent International Biscuit Festival. Market Sqaure is only a short walk away from Gay Street, recently named one of the top 10 «Great streets in America» Market Square is a must visit for residents and visitors alike. Don’t forget free parking in the public garages after 6 during the week and all day on the weekends. I am glad I can’t afford to live downtown. It has saved me from regularly calling in sick to work :)
