The staff who work here are so accomodating, so pleasant to talk to, and so so kind. Trina did my massage and it was AWESOME. I’ve had many massages and she was by far my favorite. She is so sweet and pleasant, I really enjoyed her massage and just my time with her. She’s fantastic. Crystal did my facial and she was also amazing!!! Wonderful wonderful staff!!! This is a hidden gem!

I only went to this spa instead of my usual one because they had a deal on Half Off Depot. I paid $ 20 for a voucher for a $ 45 pedicure. What I got was worth $ 20, but definitely not $ 45. I would say the women spent about 25 minutes working on me feet, so obviously all aspects of the pedicure were much quicker than they should have been. The pedicure itself was worth 3 stars, but I dropped it down one because of the service at reception. The spa offers a slightly better pedicure for $ 50. Since my voucher was worth $ 45, logically I should be able to pay $ 5 in cash and get the better one, if it’s available. However, the receptionist told me I would have to pay $ 30 extra since I had paid $ 20 for the voucher, as if I had paid $ 20 to get a paper worth $ 20. She spoke to me like I was dumb for not understanding her lack of common sense.

This may seem a bit harsh, but let me explain… Just moved here from Boston and in desperate need of a bikini wax. I called on a Tuesday and made an appointment for the following afternoon…4.5 stars for availability and ease of scheduling. Location was a bit diasppointing. as Chelsea said they are in a strip mall, but it seems like EVERYTHING west of the downtown area is in a strip mall… UGH, I HATE strip malls! Anyway, it was pretty easy to get to using the GPS on my iPhone. I walked in and was greeted quickly, but the atmosphere wasn’t really very spa-like. For a day spa, it seems that you should walk in and experience a calming, welcoming feeling. I felt kind of like I was walking into a run of the mill nail or hair salon. This could definitely be improved. 1.5 stars for atmosphere. My aesthetician was very timely and friendly. The room where I had my waxing done was very bare and cold(not temperature-wise). The table was more like an examination table and there wasn’t much comfort to be found. All the waxes I have had done previously were on cushioned massage-type tables with a blanket/pillow with a paper-type covering that is changed in between clients. The wax itself was done with the fabric strips and I have to say that it wasn’t the most painless wax I’ve ever had, actually it hurt quite a bit. Aside from the first time I had a bikini wax about 5 years ago, this was the second most painful time. Now, I know that waxing near nether regions tends to inflict a good deal of pain, but there are ways to minimize these… using different types of wax, keeping your mind occupied with conversation, letting you know how far in the process you are(half way done, etc), using a soothing lotion after the process, etc. I felt like I had to keep up the conversation so I wouldn’t involuntarily flinch and kick the lady. The quality of the waxing was meh at best. This may definitely be biased on my experience over the past 3 years… see Karen Golden Skincare in Boston… she has 5 stars and there’s a reason. There a few essential areas left untouched and it wasn’t what I would consider a «clean» job. In the spirit of not over sharing, Im not in the market for a brazilian, but the bikini that I’m used to could definitely withstand thong underwear or a skimpy bathing suit bottom without any visible fuzz. This was not it. There was quite a bit of wax stuck to the remaining hair, so baby oil was used to try and free it. The waxer seemed like she was a little uncomfortable as she left me to finish the removal of wax. I wasn’t really able to get much off, despite feeling like I was in a grease pit. Unfortunately, it was a bit uncomfortable for the remainder of the day, given that I couldn’t get the wax off and it was only noon. Definitely not something Im used too. I’m not sure if its because we are now in the south and people are uncomfortable with nether regions, but honestly, if you feel that way, you shouldn’t be any where near that area, especially mine with hot wax! Cost– $ 40 for a bikini wax, which is MORE expensive than the $ 35 I paid for more hair removal in Boston. Now, I would GLADLY pay even more if I were going to get the same quality, but not $ 40 for a painful wax with a trepidatious waxer. Oasis, if you would like to learn from this, please see Karen Golden Skincare reviews(Boston) or even better, call and find out what she does to make the experience less painful and more pleasant.

The thing I love most about Oasis Day Spa are their monthly specials. There is almost always something that is a GREAT deal, like this January, 2 days a week it’s 20% of all waxing! You won’t find a better deal in Knoxville. Plus their staff is very friendly and courteous. Its a bit strange to be in a strip mall, but once you’re inside you feel like you’re in a proper spa. I’m sticking with 3 stars because of their solid performance in the past and if they can keep it up for future visits I will bump them up!
