Roger That!

Worked with Roger That for the first time today — a first-​rate experience. Roger is personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Will definitely be calling him again. I’ll be calling my friend who recommended him to say thank you.

I called «Mr. Roger That» to get a few things done around my condo. The conversation was actually going well initially. He wanted to know what I needed done and when I would like to get it done.
Until he found out what part of town I live in. No, he said curtly. I don’t work outside of west Knoxville. I don’t do south Knoxville, north Knoxville or downtown. I was taken aback and assumed he probably just didn’t drive. «Don’t you have a vehicle?» I asked. To which he promptly replied that he just did not visit that part of town as a matter of principle and he couldn’t help me.
Oh my gosh. This is 2013. It is sad to know some people think west Knoxville is the end all be all. I noticed on his website that he goes all the way to Lenoir city and will work in Bearden. If you can drive to Bearden, I can’t think of any other reason why you can’t drive an additional 5 minutes downtown. However the non west part of Knoxville is beyond up his service area. He claims it is because of the cost of travel (although you can get anywhere in Knoxville in 20 minutes) but refuses to charge or accept a travel fee to come out.
I would never recommend enlisting the service of someone who is so narrow minded and unadventurous. He probably has this unfounded opinion of what those places are and has likely not set foot outside of west Knoxville in years. I bet that he would have a massive coronary if someone suggested he comes out to east Knoxville for a job. I am not sure why he thinks anyone would not take it personal when you discriminate against them based on where they live. He certainly hasn’t thought about being on the other side of that conversation. Oh, you live in south Knoxville? Sorry I can’t help you.
If you want someone progressive to do your repairs, do yourself a favor and don’t call this guy.
