Bummer. A mediocre bowl of curry with brown rice for $ 16. Poor service-had to ask for water and the appetizer dishes sat on the table for the entire meal! «Thai hot»…right. None of the dishes were remotely spicy and we all ordered 4 or 5 heat level. Also, $ 2.99 to substitute brown rice without even telling me?! I try to empathize with the service industry because I’ve spent years doing the same but… c’mon sloppy service and if someone orders 5⁄5 Thai hot, make the food freakin’ spicy!

Pros — plenty of parking spot since the building shares parking lot with Lowe’s, food came out fairly quickly, and everything tasted what they should(like any reasonably good thai restaurant in the US) Cons — prices are okay, but some of the portion is small! We ordered special chicken wing(7.99) to share among the two of us, and just like some of the photos of appetizers people posted, it came with ONE chicken wing cut into two pieces. I mean, they are pretty good sized, stuffed wings, but if I am paying 8 bucks and that just not seem to be fair. Also I have dined in many places where the waiter will make sure we know it is a small appetizer, and may ask us if we want to get two orders instead. Well, the experience showed me that their service is bare minimum.

i LOVE this place and their food. The reasons why i’m giving this review 3 stars are because 1. I waited 40mins for my food tonight. 2. After waited for 40mins they gave me the wrong food. 3. No apologies or whatsoever were made. I eat here literally all the time(since 4years ago) and today’s service disappointed me.

A lot of friends told me this was the best Thai place in town, been wanting to hit this place for quite some time. Today was the day. I’m not ready to hand over the crown just yet, but this place is certainly in contention with a solid showing. The service here was absolutely phenomenal, from the moment we walked in, we were taken good care of and there was no wait at all to be seated and they were busy after church on Sunday! We had just a delightful, charming server, Renee, who obviously takes pride in their food and possesses the spirit of hospitality. Our food came out fast too. I went level 4 out of 5 on the Pad See-Ew, boy likes his noodles. I could have gone even hotter I think. Our bill was around 36 bucks for two lunches, two sodas, two desserts. I can’t honestly say the food is that much better or different from what I’ve had at other places, not just yet anyway. This place is larger than most other Thai places, they can sit a lot of folks, not as much traditional décor either, but those are minor quibbles, I’ll be back soon!

I got the Drunken Noodles here. It’s the best Thai dish I’ve had. The place was very crowded so need to plan to get there before the rush hits.

EDIT: Downgrading from 5 stars to 4. Two reasons. 1) Service has significantly slowed down lately. Lunch used to be very fast. Not so much the last 3 visits. 2) I always order vegan and stress preparing my dish in a vegan way. The last time in I found a 1″ piece of chicken on the bottom of the ‘vegan’ dish they served me. I had eaten most of the meal before discovering. But… overall it is a pretty good place. They can make most of their dishes vegan on request and the menu has a lot of very tasty items on it. One thing. Thai Hot here is not actually a real Thai Hot. They have a 1 – 5 heat scale. 5 is supposed to be Thai Hot. In reality it’s more like a 5 on a 1 – 10 scale with 10 being for real Thai Hot. I always order a side of chili pepper sauce and mix it in to bring up the heat level.

When moving to a new area there are 3 things that really suck having to find new of; 1. Doctor 2. Hair dresser 3. Good Thai restaurant. I have lived in 4 different states in the last 10 years and have struggled finding a comparison to my favorite Thai restaurant in Florida, until now! Red curry chicken is my favorite and taste of Thai’s is phenomenal! You can pick your level of spice… watch out, level 5 is definitely Thai hot! Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

Green curry. Level 3. That’s my dish. I so wish that I would try something else, but it’s so delicious. The hubs prefers the pad Thai, Rama curry, or masaman curry – all are very good. Our son loves the green bean noodles, but with drunken noodle sauce. I have to admit, that was so yummy that it ALMOST became my new favorite. The shrimp basil rolls with the spicy peanut sauce for dipping is our favorite appetizer. It can be a bit pricey for dinner, but the lunch menu is very reasonable, plus you get soup or a spring roll. The staff is always helpful and friendly. However, the service can be slow sometimes, but not consistently. And it’s usually just because they’re busy. This place is usually hopping. They are always accommodating when it comes to leaving something out due to preference or allergies.

Was told 15 min wait. 45 mins later we were seated. Placed our order and an hour later still no food. Server is not attentive. Food is ok but not that great to balance the experience. Overrated establishment.

My wife and I have visited Thai food places across literally the world. For example, she lived in New York City. I lived in Dubai, living over the top of the most authentic Thai place you could possibly find. We know our Thai food. And this place is WAY up near the top of the places we like to go. I took her for lunch with our daughter. She wasn’t excited to go, because nothing is as good as the food from«home.» Boy, was I excited to see the look on her face. You see, she’s allergic to a host of foods. So most places, she has to have things removed or order from a limited menu. When she saw the cashew chicken, she got excited. When she tried the soup, she got really excited. And when she cleaned out the entire dish, I got excited. My wife eats exactly half of everything when we eat out. The rest goes for lunch the next day. Not this stuff. She ordered another one to go. I got my standard green curry chicken. And while I like spicy, my daughter does not, so I get it mild to share with her. But even their 2 level of spice has some good chicken, and my daughter and I were crying from happiness. And spice levels, but mostly happiness. Or so I’ll swear until the day I die… Anyway, we order from here at least a few times a month. It’s worth it just to watch my wife eat like a pig! :)

Excellent. My daughter had the fried spring rolls, my wife the pad thai, and i had the green curry. All excellent. They have Singa if you want to wash it down with the appropriate brew. While it was rather busy(we never saw more than 1 empty table on this Thurs evening around 7pm) our meal arrived quickly at about 10 minutes after we ordered. Very impressed.

I personally think that the place is overrated. There I said it. Is the food good? Yes. But there are a couple of things here that I look for when I dine somewhere and it just isn’t there or maybe I just am not getting the best experience. Every time we dine there I am completely baffled with the customer service. Everyone is so dry! You can walk in with a smile on your face and say«Hello, table for two» and 90 percent of the time they don’t speak, and they lead you to your table. I just like a little kindness when I am at a restaurant. For an App I got the fried tofu. The dipping sauce was literally the same sauce that they use for the Pad thai. Maybe I didn’t realize this. I will definitely try something else next time! The drunken noodles there are quite fantastic I must say. I only order them at one other place in Knoxville, which isn’t a Thai Place! The new location is much bigger then the old location, but sometimes I miss that location. I felt like it was much homier, and the owner would always come by and check on you. I am happy with their success and wish them many more years of successful business.

I went to the old location on multiple times but only recently visited the new establishment. The décor is cute and the place makes for a great casual date night. The food is good for this area and they do offer vegan options. I recommend adding vegetables instead of getting the tofu. They do have a bar inside the establishment.

It is perfect here. I love Taste of Thai so much. I have tried several entrees and I love the ginger chicken and drunken noodles. So delicious. Get the mango rice, you will not be disappointed.

We love Thai food and heard great things about his place so we wanted to check it out for ourselves. The ambiance is not the greatest but it was pretty packed — which is a good sign! The Thai iced tea was very refreshing. I got the Massaman curry with chicken, broccoli and avocado — level 2. It came with a side of rice. I enjoy a good amount of heat and would have probably enjoyed level 3 or 4 better, but it was very tasty. I was able to take half home, it was a big serving! My husband got the drunken noodle with chicken and enjoyed it. Our waitress really seemed to forget about us after she brought out our food, we had to remind her that we ordered a beer and we spent a long while waiting for the check(–1).

Great Thai food. I love the penang curry and the green curry. I also love the black pepper chicken, this has quickly become my favorite dish here. We get some sort of dumpling or spring roll before our meal. We have tried a ton of the apps and love them all. The only annoying thing is asking your server what is in one of the dishes on that HUGE specials list in the front. It usually involves them listing a meat and a veggie and that’s about it. It would be great for them to know a little more. Otherwise, I have never had a bad experience here and we will keep coming back! Update: my obsession has reached an all time high! The garlic black pepper pork and the mama egg noodle are my absolute favorites. The house fried rice might be basic but it is wonderful. Can’t wait to find more delicious treats!

Otherwise, I have never had a bad experience here and we will keep coming back!

Low this Thai place! We’ve been twice now and the pad Thai and drunken noodle were both outstanding. It’s got simple but nice décor, and the noodle dishes come with a spring roll as well. Pros: delicious food, reasonable prices Cons: sometimes slow service

The best thai food in knoxville. Must Try and u will love the food. They have awesome curries. Lunch menu is cheap($ 8 entry) includes soup/spring role. Dinner have large portions and usually make me to go lunch for next morning. Crab meat cheese role are such a heaven. But they serve 3, which is very odd to share appetizer. They may increase price, but include 4 per entry.

It was a rainy Sunday night and I wanted Thai food to the fourth power! We found a new part of town. haha legit down the street from our casa and I knew I wanted to eat there. It never showed up on my Unilocal search oddly enough. Walk in and it was busy! Not a clean table in the house yet! Waitress was attentive and nice. Got the Spring Rolls to start. Veggie only. They were good. Lacking flavor a bit tho. We decided we would step out of our comfort zone and order different items off the menu. Cory went for the Drunken Noodles w/Beef. I got the Massaman curry w/chicken and avacodo. Hands down they were both amazing! Packed with flavor and perfect spice level. Im salivating thinking about the delishhhhhiness of this food. We will definitely be back and we will try something new again! Only got a little hiccup at the end when our waitress was spending too much time on her phone and not checking on us to see we were ready for boxes and our check. I’ll let her slide it was almost closing time(;

My work colleagues love to go to this place for lunch outings when we go. 4⁄5 for a few reasons: food quality is consistent, the variety is enough for everyone to find something, they do have tofu :). the only thing i could even say that keeps it from 5⁄5 is that most plates don’t seem to have enough meat for the price. Fav app: Out of the three choices I recommend the Spring Roll. The sauce it comes with is good Fav couple of meal recommendations: 14. SPICYSHRIMP Fresh shrimp sauteed with mixed vegetable in special shrimp sauce 26. DRUNKENNOODLE Stir-fried rice noodles with egg, meat, bell pepper, onion, green bean and sweet basil

This place is the best Thai place in Knoxville. The masaman, red curry, and pad see ew are the best dishes at the place. The atmosphere of the restaurant is mediocre and nothing special. But definitely come in and try the food. Much better than surin.

I’ve traveled far and wide and no curry compares to that of ToT. Massaman curry tofu with avocado, cashews, and broccoli. The prices are fair because of the quality of the food and the portions are large enough for a second meal. My mouth is watering and sadly it is a 3 hour drive for me now. I love you forever, taste of thai.

Vegans beware. I thought this restaurant was endorsed by the Knoxville Vegan Society. First of all. .the spring rolls are fried in the same oil as the meat rolls. First mistake! Then, I had the Veggie Massaman Curry. I wanted to come here and brag on how great it is. After eating all we could. .I decided to take the leftovers home. .well at the bottom of the bowl. .a piece of chicken(no question) it has been 7 years since I have eaten meat so this was tragic to me! However, what I consider worse was the(oh well) attitude of the server and owner. Nobody came to check or apologize. .of course the server apologized but she said she was going to tell the kitchen /owner…then collected our money like nothing happened. Needless to say. .I have a group of vegan friends and family that I was excited to bring here and spread the word but that will NOT happen now.. Also I intend to make everyone aware this place is definitely NOT vegan friendly. Sad
