The Chop House

We eat at the location most often for lunch. They have a great selection on their lunch menu and the price is amazing!
We recently went for daughter’ birthday lunch ¹⁄₃₀. We could have used more room… put 8 of us at a round table. It was not very busy… so I felt we could have had more room.
One criticism… their house salad needs some real greens. not just lettuce.

Very disappointed with this visit. Son ordered prime rib. Approx 60% fat. Complained about cut and waiter simply stated «sorry». I would have normally asked to speak with manager but was on a tight schedule. This is the end of our weekly visits. May return but it will be a while.

Let me start by saying that we eat out frequently. I travel and get to eat at very good places on a regular basis, though I am NOT a foodie. That being said, we were there for a very large birthday dinner and the service was impeccable. Our food was brought quickly despite the large group size and our servers were «on it» the entire time. I got the ribeye and can honestly say it was as good or better than any i“ve had. My wife had the ribs and was a little underwhelmed, but my son’s prime rib made up for that.

First time at the Chophouse. Atmosphere was great; high end so spouse and I were expecting a great meal. Oops, did not happen. Place has a small menu so one would think each offering would be excellent. I had the filet with a crab sauce, a special. Spouse had the crab cake. My steak was mediocre at best and the sauce was tasteless. My grilled steaks at home beat this one by a mile. The baked potato with butter and chives was just a baked potato and I don’t think there was any chives. Wife’s crab cakes was one cake about as thick as your little finger and was more a pancake. Didn’t have much if any crab in it, if any. The salads were good. We won’t be going back so I really being generous with 2 stars.

The food was delicious. I ordered a ribeye with blue cheese topping and it was very flavorful. The service was prompt and got everything right. We also ordered the corn cakes and onion rings for appetizers. The corn cakes were outstanding. Onion rings were ok, very large but nothing special about those. I tasted my husband’s prime rib too and it was really good.

Excellent landmark chop house. It’s pretty clear this place is an icon in this area. The Same owners who run Connors restaurants also run this business. Bottom line — excellent service provided by Chris along with superior food. We started the night off with a chilled sparkling Proseco and had the sweet corn tamale with avocado a, hand made salsa with cream sauce over the top… excellent. I got the prime rib sandwich with mac and cheese. My wife got the Cuban with sweet potato fries. Both were superb and the portions large. We had to take some home. I’m giving this place my highest rating… get there early, we did, and as we left it was packed inside and out.

I have had many fine meals at the Chop House in the past — distant past. Recently I have sworn the Chop House off my list. The steaks were my only reason to eat there. However, they do not serve top quality steaks. My last filet mignon was absolutely TASTELESS. Cooked perfectly but tasteless. These days one can buy so much better local grass fed steaks that the stuff Chop House serves is simply a huge taste disappointment. The rest of the menu is boring. The drinks are overpriced. And the atmosphere is old.

Every time I eat here, I find myself ordering the prime rib sandwich. It is amazing. The meat is always tender (not overcooked) and the sauce is very tasty… and then I taste my wife’s filet oscar dinner and kick myself– hard. This is one of the best filets I have ever tasted. I always regret anything I order and wish I had ordered this instead. It is topped with crab oscar and asparagus, which gives this dish an amazing flavor. I highly recommend this dish!

This has been a favorite of ours since we moved here in 1993, they’ve been consistent in food and service until tonight. David had reservations for 6:30 p.m. We got there at 6:00 p.m. they told us we wouldn’t get seated until 7:00 p.m. We went to the bar and around 6:30 p.m. got a seat there, at 6:45 p.m. went back to the hostess desk and she said it would be 7:15 p.m. No one ever came and got us, luckily we started ordering our meal at the bar. Will have second thoughts next time. Food wise it was good, but their hostess desk was very busy and confused, they should never take reservations if they can’t honor them.

This place has went down hill BIGTIME!!!
The front of the house manager let the back of the house manager walk all over him when it was the kitchen managers fault, Lisa is her name and she is a witch.
She tried telling us that the steaks were correct. I told her take her contacts out and get glasses. She insisted that i try a raw medium rare steak that I will not and cannot eat. My steak has to be just light pink in the middle for me to eat it.
I have lost all respect for this establishment.
They have lost a great customer that easily drops $ 200 each time im there with my family of 5… my husband is a retired executive chef. He knows his meat!
I will NOT be going back.

Mediocre service. Great drinks from the bartender. Good filets. Terrible pencil thin ribeyes. Expensive. Great ambiance. Lots of $$ for eh food

I was devastated to find they have removed the crab-​stuffed mushrooms from the menu. This will likely mean fewer returns… ⁴⁄₅ nonetheless.
App — was once the crab-​stuffed mushrooms but as a 2^nd the mussels
Salad — Their salads are good portioned and have a good authentic ranch
Meal — The wife says go for the slow-​roasted prime rib. It literally melts in your mouth. I always go for the crab cakes and am never disappointed!

My wife took me here for my birthday and wow loved it, food and service was great…

The lunch specials are great! We eat here often and zero complaints! My favorite is the ahi tuna lunch and the prime rib sandwich.
The wine list is pretty good and has a good selection of well priced wine. The desert menu could be better.
They are pretty quick when you are on a time crunch.

GREAT MEAL! Great service. The prime rib was cooked to perfection with great flavor. The service was fast and friendly. I was especially pleased because of the waiter who was extremely patient and receptive of my girlfriend’s dietary allergies. I would recommend this location to anyone and everyone!

Excellent on all accounts. Bartender knowledgable. Fast friendly service. Excellent atmosphere. If I had to pick something to complain about, the only thing I could come up with is the Salmon is Atlantic and not Alaskan. But Hey their speciality is steak! And a chocolate mouse dessert that is absolutely everything

The best place to go and get a reasonably priced steak! I have been going here since I was a kid, it was always my family’s favorite place. It is one of the few places I have found where you can get a five star steak with sides included for under $ 30…

Enjoyed a lovely family dinner here on a busy Friday night. Food was great, a really good value. My table ordered an assortment and we all enjoyed each other’s choices, as well as our own. We choose prime rib sandwich, blue cheese balsamic chopped salad, white bean soup and corn tamale appetizer. Everything was delicious! Our server, Elliot, was such a professional. We even had two managers visit the table to check on things– how often does that happen anymore? That’s a sign of a staff that truly cares about your experience. You can’t go wrong with the original Chop House.

If you go to Chop House and aren’t super hungry, order the Pizza Florentine. It’s a very thin flour tortilla topped with creamed spinach, jalapenos, artichokes, and tomatoes. I added chicken for a little something extra.
I sat at the bar, and it leaves a lot to be desired. It’s definitely a bar meant to drink at before you are eventually seated. It was offset against the wall facing the parking lot, so you couldn’t people watch without awkwardly turning your whole body around. That was pretty annoying because I love to people watch.
This seems to be a pretty popular place, and the lot is usually packed. I’m ready to try something else and update the review.

Well, I have personally always enjoyed dining at the Chop House’s around town. This experience at this Chop House is only based on a martini.
I walked in w/​a friend for Happy Hour. I sat down at the bar and ordered a martini after the bartender told us the Happy Hour features. FYI they have great prices for Happy Hour drinks and food. We glanced over the menu and the bartender had told us they had put quite a few new menu items. He was a good bartender and his name was Gavin.
Here’s where it went wrong. I hate it when I order a martini and I notice that the pimento is not in the middle. My other olive had the pimento but one was lacking. That is just a small pet peeve of mine. As I continued to sip on my martini I noticed what seemed to be a flake of dirt (See picture for the evidence of the flake to the left and the olive missing the pimento to the right). I eventually got it out paid my tab and we left.
If I am around in that area and I am desperate for a drink I could potentially go back but I will have to try the food to really give it an accurate rating. Overall was not impressed. Clean it up Chop House. Cheers and Enjoy!
