I’m giving this place 3 stars because it was good, but not great. I love the clam chowder and the fries. They’re my favorite things there. I do not like the service at all. Every time I go there it feels like the servers only care about the tables with customers getting drunk. I rarely drink and when I do I’m not at a restaurant doing shots and going wild. We have gone in for dinner and seen people seated before us who have came in after us. I haven’t had a bad meal there, but with it being a 21+ restaurant it’s hard to put this place at the top of the list for a nice date night without our baby.

Best bar in town. Great food and drinks you can get anywhere else. The staff is also tremendous.

Hubby and I had delicious turkey burgers with swiss tonight. Pub chips were OK. Draught special on Tuesday made this a perfect dinner. Loved the Blue Moon.

The ambience was very nice, however it was a tad warm. The service was awesome! We ordered the McDoogal balls for an appetizer. My husband loved them, I thought they were good but not amazing. Worth a try though! We ordered the Plastered Chicken entrée to share. It was chicken breast smothered in BBQ and topped with bacon and white cheddar cheese. We chose the Yukon whipped potatoes as a side. The chicken was DELICIOUS. I savored every bite. I suggest trying it! Oh yeah! Our server gave us free side salads because she said it took too long to get our food but we didn’t even realize it had been that long. Very thoughtful!

Really good place for a few drinks in the evening. Tried their lamb chips, a bit salty but still a good pair with some Guinness. Good atmosphere and decent outdoor seating as well. Certainly recommendable.

Meh. Good for Kokomo, bad for pubfare in general. Let’s start with the good, McDoogle balls were tasty and a delightful texture. The meh — Irish egg rolls(crispy, tender meat, sporadic pockets of dense pickle relish that overwhelm the entire bite), unsweetened tea(my first cup tasted the way an ashtray smells, consecutive cups sans ice were much better) shepard’s pie looked like something out of a crockpot with an ice cream scoop of smashed potatoes on top(pleasant but subpar to homemade or wholefoods). The bad — fish and chips should have been called fish and crisps, had to request fries(fries were super sweet and too salty in spots, fish came out dripping in oil and a doughy mess, ended up dousing in ketchup to power through a piece). Entire experience was disappointing.

Try a Pickle Back! Its a classic. We come here once in a while for drinks. Service is Ok, drinks are alright, and I have had the food once, which was ok. The atmosphere makes this place.

Cooks is one of my favorite places to go! Everyone there is super nice. They always act happy to see me and I always stay longer than I intended to because of the atmosphere and staff! My favorite food is the McDoogal Balls and the Shephards Pie! I love that they actually use lamb in it. The beer selection is outstanding and I’m always excited to see what’s new on draft! They recently added a patio outside which is awesome! It’s a must go pub!

I will say the food was good BUT the service was lacking! Nothing like having your waiter act like your wasting his time when there were only 2 other tables in service. I still tipped 20% because i also work in the service industry but he could have gotten much more if the attitude wasn’t so bad. If ever i do venture back i will belly up to the bar

Referred here by a friend who used to live in Kokomo. What a great choice. Good food, good atmosphere, and good service! Glad we drove off the beaten course and tried this place. Will go back next time I’m in Kokomo !

Visited early on a Thursday evening for our first time visit: attentive waitress, drink specials, good menu, and good food. Bangers & mash was very good. Macdougal balls were tasty with the white cheddar dipping sauce. My friend had a Reuben and was pleased. I will visit again when back in Kokomo.

ive been here a few times for lunch(friend was former bar tender) and always had good food and a great experience. Been for dinner a couple of times and, again, had a good time. Only thing I can agree with other reviewers about is that the food is rather good, nothing outstandingly great and could use some variety. But theres a decent bar with great draft options, the décor is cool, and I know ‘irish’ music would get old after a while but to be honest the classic rock playing doesn’t fit the establishment. so yeah we’ll be back, we have fun there!

Went here not long after it opened, not really my type of place but i was very impressed by the décor. Menu is very limited and i thought it was very pricey. Got the shrimp cocktail and it was very good.

Atmosphere/look of the place would be five stars– it’s very much like bars I’ve been to in Ireland. They have the look down but not the feel. It should be much more friendly like a true Irish Pub. The owners and managers are great, it’s the actual waiters/waitresses that seem to cause the repeatedly remarked upon slow and bad service. I haven’t had rude service before but it does tend to be on the slow and non-attentive side. That’s been commented on enough and if you’re not in a hurry & not caught up on service it’s still worth a visit because how many Irish options do you really have in a town the size of Kokomo? On to the food. It’s overall pretty good– there are some home run dishes and some swings and misses like any restaurant. I like the cottage pie personally. The lamb dishes are also good.
