Worst place on the island. Soda water tasted like hose. Super expensive for low quality and small portions. Service mediocre. My wife was charged an extra $ 10 for a small, dry piece of chicken. Should have checked Unilocal first :(

Excellent fish and chips. Service was fantastic. Waitress was making sure everything was good.

The service was excellent, but the desserts were very pricy. $ 10 for a small dessert platter is not worth it. Even at the most expensive restaurants, it might not cost as much. One of my family members ordered the ceviche and she wasn’t impressed. My family would probably not go back to the restaurant, but generally the food was good.

What a view — been coming here since 1986 and it is dependable. Good food, good service, clean and a nice place for groups, kids and couples.

Nice place. Good prices. Not the largest selection. Nice view. Large drink menu. Neat ambiance. I would recommend if you want a moderately priced, low stress meal. Probably more like 3.75 stars I my mind.

Had the fish and chips and it was really grease and not very good. The fish was separated to the outer batter once you bit into the fried fish. Just was not good at all. Had higher expedition considering the location and view. Two stars for the view.

Went here for happy hour, not as good as a deal as we expected. They do have a great view but the place was not lively at all. Drinks were watered down like other reviews stated. We did have some Appetizers which were decent and the food was fine. I would not go back.

Was on vacation from San Diego last week and Kristol was such a fun and attentive bartender! The 6 of us stopped in at her bar top for 2 rounds of mai tai’s and she was fast, drinks were great and she started our morning off right :) Thanks Kristol!

Coconut shrimp and nachos make the perfect accompaniments to 4pm happy hour drinks. Will return tomorrow for dinner.

Don’t waste your money here. My friend and I went here yesterday on our last night in Kaua’i to try out their happy hour. We ordered a margarita pitcher and their slider trio. It sucked. First issue is that they blasted terrible pop music on their radio. I mean, come on, you have a restaurant with a great beach view on an island. Why not play something more relaxing/tropical? We asked them if they would change the music but they refused, even though only one other table was occupied when we were there. Second issue was the margarita pitcher. We split it between the two of us and were able to have about four glasses each, but the drinks were extremely watered down. Go somewhere else. This place is just an unoriginal, distasteful, below-average college sports bar that does not belong.

Ate here two times during our stay in Poipu beach area. First time was around 5:30pm. We were told a 20 minute wait that ended up being over an hour. This had us a little frustrated, but it ended up being the only black mark on our two experiences. The food was fantastic. I had the ahi tacos and coconut shrimp. Cooked perfectly and very, very tasty. My wife had the fish and chips and then the ahi sandwich the second trip. Both were really good. Service, once we were seated, was terrific. I mean, really awesome. Fast, attentive, thorough, and friendly. Great selection of drinks and beers with a great location just 100 yards from the water. They have tables with an ocean view — try to get one of those. This is a cool beach spot for lunch or dinner in a laid back, aloha spirit fashion.

What a cool place! Restaurant sits up on the 2nd floor right acroos the street from Poipu Beach so you can see the beach and sunsets. The staff is super friendly to everyone and the food was perfect. We have burger and fish and chips with no complaints. Secret: They are one of the few places to serve an early breakfast downstairs in the little take out/liquor store. A breakfast burrito and a cold beer. Aaaaahhhh!!!

After a long day on the beach, the only reason to come here is for the view and a beer. Frankly the worst MaiTai I’ve had on the island so far. The nachos, oh my puke, microwaved crap, check the photo… had like 10 beans and none of the cheese melted(sent it back). Apparently this joint is a hit with the fat tourists who give greasy crap five stars, love pop music and football. Me and my heartburn are moving on… Update: Bonus points for the management re-nuking round two of the nachos(that still were 2 Star sports bar quality and we tossed them) and for reaching out here to make amends… Nothing personal, bro. Raised you one star for effort!

Despite the mediocre reviews, I really liked this place. It’s my top 3 restaurant here in the souther part of Kauai(first and second being Tapa’s and Eating House; prices at all 3 are similar). The décor is pretty ordinary, nothing fancy, more of a local mom and pop shop feel. The service was exceptionally friendly, though. We came here for dinner, ordered the catch of the day(forgot the name), but it had crab on top. We also got the monchong. Both fish dishes were quite good. Despite this place not being«fancy,» the prices are comparable to the fancier restaurants I named above. Still, I would come back here again.

This place is fine. Not great, not bad. I had a fish sandwich, which was mediocre. It was made worse by first bringing out a different dish that I hadn’t ordered and really didn’t want to eat. My wife convinced me to tell them, which I did. After I got some attitude from the servers, they finally agreed to bring the fish sandwich. The food was generally unimpressive but not bad. Just kind of run-of-the-mill. A bit of a tourist-trap feel to it, this place is supposed to be a local institution and definitely comports itself that way.

We weren’t blown away by this place, it wasn’t anything special and a lot of people raved about it, but I think the view was the best part of this place, and there are tons of places that have a great view AND great food and service. I wouldn’t come back here again unless I was in town for a long time and ran out of options. Pros: 1. View is amazing, nice walk along the beach and waterfront to and from dinner, and you are up high so you can really see the state park and ocean nicely 2. Service was good, the waitress was very nice and attentive 3. Good local beer and it was cold, a plus 4. Nice breezy atmosphere, albeit kind of kitchy Cons: 1. Food wasn’t great, it was just OK, the portions were small and there was something wrong with almost everything we ordered. Example: we got ahi tuna tacos, and there was so much fried shell and not enough fish, and the fish was tough and chewy. Another example: we ordered sliders(trio: beef, pulled pork, and steak) and they were really fatty and greasy and the buns were boring, requiring lots of ketchup. 2. Over priced, in comparison to other spots, and not a great value. 3. Gets crowded, so make a reservation, and even then be prepared to wait a while.

Great place! Our first meal in Kauai(doesn’t include the pizza we had in Honolulu). Hubby had the special, which was a 7 oz. blackened Ahi Tuna steak with steamed veggies, Jasmine rice, and 2 large shrimp.(A bit spicy for my taste, but still good!) I had the creamy pesto with spinach, Gorgonzola, mushrooms, and grilled chicken. Also mahvelous, dahlink. I had 2 virgin«mocktails» and usually when you get those kind of drinks(you know, blended), there’s always ice chunks in them. Not these! Very smooth. For dessert, I had the Crème Brûlée with Pacific Ginger. Perfect! Even hubby tried it because it had a hint of ginger. He liked it — sort of. He’s not a custard fan. Oh well, more for me! Overall, for the price, I have to give them a solid 4!

A good sports bar with amazing food. the staff seems genuine and fun. The prime rib here I had was really good and the drinks have all been not too sweet but well made and strong. A great place to watch sports if you’re in Poipu Beach

Oh how I miss Kauai. And when I think of Poipu, not only does this beach offer the most breath taking sunsets and turtles swimming on their beach but it also has amazing eats. This particular place is a few steps from the sand and so glad we ended our night here. I was able to use my $ 5 off when you spend more than $ 50 upon Unilocal check in. Woo hoo! 10 oz rib eye with veggies and mash. We ordered medium well but came out a tad bit more done than well. Linguini with clams was yummy. Pasta was aldente. Clam sauce was indeed flavorful. Coconut shrimp for appetizer was good. Bobby K. swore on it so good thing I actually took his recommendations and ordered it hahaha Mango colada was indeed stiff. Was a great change of pace from the nightly Mai Tai they gave me every night at the hotel. Staff was all pleasant and attentive. The view was amazing. #ilove #Kauai
