Great selection of first class wines from all over the world. They host a wine tasting every Saturday night including pupus with four different tastings. Very popular with both tourists and locals. Very conveniently located in downtown Koloa. Friendly staff and a well stocked store.

Have purchased wines here 3X. Good selection, though not large by Sonoma county CA standards. Props here for carrying above average brands. No crap labels that you find at Foodland /Times Supermarket. As you’d expect, prices are elevated compared to the mainland. But you are on vacation and you want the good stuff, correct? So spend the extra few bucks happily. Nice, friendly, knowledgeable people own and operate. Recommended!

Great selection for the remote location. Really cool to grab a Belgium beer to go with fish take out.

Have had a friendly, informative and pleasant experience every time I have stopped in… and for those who know and love Leonetti wines; I just happened to run into the owner of Leonetti, himself shopping here! OUTSTANDING!

Nice little wine shop in the wonderful little town of Koloa. We visit Kauai every year for many years now and always stop in here. Nice selection of California wines at decent prices. While we were there they were having an open house with lots of wonderful food. Glad we stopped in that day! Will always stop in on our future visits to Koloa Town.

Nestled in the heart of Old Koloa Town is a bonafide wine shop! They are a small store but they pack the wine, fun gourmet foods, and accessories that make fantastic gifts, from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. The Wine Shop carries a wide variety of wine for every price point, and they are happy to make you a recommendation! They also carry gluten-free beer, and my wife’s favorite, Rogue beers. The first Saturday of the month they hold a wine tasting, which they just began charging 10 $ per person for. These wine tastings can get pretty packed but the selections are tasty and they pair each selection with a delicious appetizer! The staff/owners are super knowledgable and the store is great for locals and tourists both! My advice, get a sandwich next door, then come cruise the wine shop and go enjoy a beach picnic with a bottle!

The O’Connells offer some of the best wines & spirits on the island. The service is always friendly and I learn something new from Dano every time I visit. Never a dissapointing experience. A must stop!!!

I live on Kauai and LOVE Dan and Ellen’s wine shop. I live 45 minutes away(far by Kauai standards) and go out of my way to stop in whenever an occasion presents itself. I wouldn’t consider buying wine from anywhere else. A small shop with a big heart, a wonderful ambiance and superior service. What you’d expect from a world class wine shop. Never a bad experience. And they’re just good people.

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this great wine shop in Koloa while we were looking into dive shops. The ambience combined with the friendly and knowledgeable owner made this a great experience and find. I’m sure we will be back before we head back to Chicago!

This place is a gem. Incredible selection of varietals and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s made our visits the past couple of years really enjoyable. Just tell them what you like if they don’t have anything you recognize and they will point you to something good if not great.

Nothing is perfect, but a good wineshop in Koloa, near Poipu Beach area, is a find. I was able to spend quite a bit of time scouting the inventory, before the owner, Dan, noticed me, and then he immediately asked if I needed help, I might have bought more or chosen another bottle had he moved from behind the register, but he appeared to be a tad preoccupied with orders. I chose a torrentes, more than I usually pay!, but heck– it is Hawaii. Selection excellent, though for ordinary well priced wines, the local grocery store(Seuko?) down the street is just fine. I did over hear Dan telling another customer about the corkage waiver deal at some restaurants, if you buy from him– I tried to get more info about that, will have to stop in another time when Dan is not so busy, working on his inventory. Running a business is not easy and I do understand.

The ladies at The Wine Shop were super sweet and helpful. We were looking for something decently priced and cold to(discretely) take next door to the deli. There’s nothing like brown bagging a $ 20 bottle of wine and drinking it out of dixie cups.

If you’re staying at a condo in the Poipu area, a stop at the wine shop is a must! I didn’t actually buy any wine here, but did buy a bunch of tiny bottles of liquor to make mixed drinks at the hotel. This is a family-owned place, and I felt good about supporting it. I also discovered a really tasty ginger liqueur that they sell in tiny bottles, called Domaine De Canton, and it’s great with seltzer or tonic. The more common liquors in mini bottles were a tad overpriced at about $ 5 each, especially considering that there are ABC stores that sell them for $ 2.50 each. Nonetheless, I would definitely return for my wine and ginger liqueur needs.

We stopped in here looking for a nice bottle of wine to go with the steak dinner we were preparing. Really enjoyed talking with the owner, Dan O’Connell. They have a large assortment of wines from a lot of regions, at a range of prices. We were surprised to find a lot of Washington state wines, including several from one of our favorite vineyards, Longshadow. We ended up getting a bottle of Washington wine, Boom Boom, and it was perfect. They have some interesting foods and snacks to accompany the wine, and a little bar at the back, but apparently, due to the liquor licenses in Hawaii, they can’t serve wine there — you either need to have a carry out or drink in license; you can’t have both. Bummer. We would have been happy to enjoy a glass or two of wine in their quaint, lovely setting. As it turns out, they also do wedding licenses, and we learned after our visit, that our cousin and her husband got their wedding license there! Small world.

We came in here to look for wine and I was very impressed by their selection in Napa wine. Prices were a bit high though and we were never greeted but we were just strolling through.

Very fun shopping experience. Ask Dan the owner about the free corkage program at many area restaurants that allow BYOB. Then buy a bottle from this store and save the 3x markup that is common at most fine dining spots.

The Wine Shop is a wonderful store with a great variety of wine and gourmet packaged goods. My wife and I spent a couple of hundred dollars on gourmet spreads and sauces to bring back as gifts as well as try out on our own. If visiting Koloa/Poipu Beach area, this should be your first stop. A quick tip… ask them for a list partner restaurants in the area who will waive the corkage fee and allow you to bring your own bottle to dinner as long as it was purchased from the Wine Shop. We weren’t able to take advantage of it because I didn’t know about it, but if I had known, it would have saved us quite a bit of money at a couple of restaurants we dined at while in Poipu.

The best place to buy a bottle of wine. The inside is great! A very nice selection of wines to choose from, from different parts of the world. The prices are a little higher than the mainland, but not by much considering you’re not drinking«wine in a bag in a box.» There’s also a nice selection of gourmet foods. He: Get a wine opener Me: Okay(looking at the $ 1.99 ones) Screw that. I want a real wine opener(picking up the $ 3.99 one) Okay, prices may be off. The owner was great! I want to say they’ve been open for 7 years now, but it may be longer. I wish I would’ve gone back for another bottle before leaving. Is there a winery in Hawaii? If not, there should be.
