5 stars on the grilled fish! Better than the (much mor expensive) fish I had yesterday at papadeaux! This little fish shack is delicious! Order at the counter & carry your own food to the table– quite casual. The coleslaw was heavy on the mayo if you like it creamy and the lil hush puppies are yummy!

Love the fried catfish! This has become my «Gold Standard» to measure others by and I am always disappointed with the «others.» My wife will not allow us to drive past here without stopping to eat. The catfish is so good that we have not tried many other items but the things we did try were also great.
Highly recommend you give them a try.

Casual small-​town seafood restaurant that really surprises. Order at the counter; fix your own drink. I was initially disappointed that they were all out of oysters, but the fried catfish I ordered as an alternate was perfectly prepared. My side orders of fried okra and pickled green tomato were very tasty. My wife ordered the shrimp po-​boy. It was probably one of better po-​boys that I have seen in a while. It came with an abundance of shrimp that were excellent. The shoe string french fries are seasoned with Tony Cacherie cajun seasoning.
Prices are very reasonable for seafood, especially for seafood this tasty.

I know this is a seafood joint, but you have to do yourself a favor (assuming you do not abhorr pickles) and try the fried pickle spears. You cannot beat the price and they are incredible! The batter is the perfect blend of spice and they are not over cooked. It comes with a side of ranch for dipping– god bless you Captain Ron’s.
The fish is also tasty. I had the catfish lunch plate. It came with 2 catfish filets, 2 sides, hushpuppies AND a drink for $ 4.99 You seriously cannot beat that.
Sides were fresh, tasty and easy on the wallet.
Captain Ron’s is a great place to check out.

Delicious worth the stop. Very laid back atmosphere. One side is a Texas theme and the other half of the place is a beach theme because they serve seafood and bbq. Food was fresh and hot.
Very reasonable prices. Not much to eat in Kountze so this is a much needed place.
