Edit: 12/31/2015 — Mudd is closed for Chad to persue other options. Restaurant location has sold. A long tradition of great food and fantastic service. Portions are huge, food is well cooked and tasty. Friendly staff — Always ensuring that everything is to your satisfaction. Call ahead and reserve your ribeye — they will sell them out! Short on hours but long on food. Give it a try. BYOB, so bring your own beer or wine.

Mudd’s has quickly become a weekly tradition for my husband and I. We eat here every Friday and/or Saturday night. Chad Mudd really knows how to cook barbeque! From the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, turkey and jalepeno sausage, you can’t go wrong. Everything is cooked to perfection. One of us will always order the three meat plate just so we have leftovers! The other menu items are definitely amazing as well. The chicken fried steak is huge and always tender and delicious. On Fridays, the fried catfish is perfectly coated and fried to perfection! Saturday nght is ribeye night. If you’re bringing a big party, call ahead to reserve yours or they will run out. A recent addition to the menu is a baked potato with brisket. It is the biggest potato I’ve ever seen and I didn’t think it was possible to put as much meat and cheese on a spud as Chad does! Brisket nachos make the Saturday menu occasionally but I haven’t had the pleasure yet. All meals come with sides of cream-style corn, barbecue beans, potato salad, sliced white bread, and condiments. Then there are the pies — oh my! Try the buttermilk with real whipped cream. You won’t be sorry! There is also chocolate and coconut. Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream is one of my favorites(especially now that Blue Bell is available again!). Then there is the staff. Chad, the chef and owner, will be out welcoming you and asking if you want to try a sample of the barbecue, making everyone feel like you just walked into the kitchen at his house. The ladies serving everyone are absolutely amazing! A big shout out to Kelsey, Teeny, and Sam! Awesome service everytime we go. If you want, it’s BYOB so bring your favorite wine and they will bring you wine glasses. Or bring your beer and pop the top on a cold one. What’s better than beer and barbecue? I can’t say enough about this small town, family friendly«barbecue joint,» as Chad like to call it. But it is so much more than JUST barbecue!

Hands down the best barbecue I’ve ever had! Nothing compares to the taste of smoked meats… The brisket was delicious as was the pulled pork! Everyone LOVED their dinner and the desserts were amazing, especially the peach cobbler WOW!!!

Great food! Great service! We are so glad Mudds is back in Krum. Pecan smoked ribs and pork chops on Thursday night are awesome! Catfish is always excellent! Next time we are trying the Steak.

Service was great, as was the meal. We had chicken fried steak, served family style with unlimited refills on the sides. Steak was tender and not over breaded. Buttermilk pie for dessert was perfectly tangy, and served with real whipped cream. Well worth the drive!
