This place is awesome! It has the best Mexican food in the valley! I’m a big fan of their shredded beef, and their all-you-can eat street taco bar on Monday nights! I can’t wait for the new outdoor space this summer!

The food at Enriques is amazing, authentic Mexican food and very reasonably priced. The restaurant has a great atmosphere that fits in perfectly with its’ location in small town Kuna, ID. It does get busy for dinner though especially on the weekends so you may have to wait for a table.

It’s just good Mexican food. The staff is very friendly and authentic. nothing fake about this place! The menu is pretty expanse-always plenty of choices to try. The Tricolor Enchilada-delish! Three delicious enchiladas, 1 each of chicken, ground beef and yummy melty cheese. The El Gordo Burrito-if you’re really hungry(or want to share!) it’s a crisp chicken burrito inside a another burrito… for under $ 12! My husband says it’s perfect with a mixture of many hot sauces they provide. This place is always busy. .come early or call ahead to get your name on the list! They provide baskets of warm, salty torilla chips with beans & salsa which is good since it to take a bit to get the food this time(about 40 minutes-but the whole restaurant was packed at 5pm!) Regardless, Martin(say it Mar-teen!) Was friendly, kept us supplied in chips & drinks etc. Great spot!

Have been to this place many many time, but after moving out of the area was very disappointed in my meal tonight. First, they pack you like sardines, the servers dump into each other and seated customers as the move around the tables. Not with standing the staff is very friendly and polite. But they are not the issue. I got the shrimp in butter, garlic and wine. The only indicator of my order was the shrimp. The yellow substance floating on top of the dirty warm water looked like popcorn oil. There was zero evidence of butter, garlic or wine in the dish. The rice was dry, dry dry … the salad dressing was so watered down it had lost its taste. With that being said, the place was packed. Appears quantity over quality is still a big attraction. Will not be in a hurry to go back. Certainly not a recommended place to have dinner at this point in time.

Outstanding food and service, without a doubt the best Mexican food in the valley. If you are looking for high quality food, knowledgable and friendly service and great drinks Enrique’s is more than worth the drive to Kuna. There simply is no better Mexican food in the valley.

Moved to boise 2 years ago, have heard since then that Enrique’s(was el Gallo giro) is the best Mexican around. Finally two years later we tried it and thank goodness the rumors are true!!! Best Mexican I have had in Boise area. Buffett on Sunday is a steal. 11 – 3 $ 9 for adults and $ 5 for kids… Sounds like there’s awesome deals every night of the week. so thankful to find good food. :)

Had lunch today at 3pm. Only one server for the entire restaurant. I had the taco truck burrito, it was so bad I wish I had eaten at an actual taco truck, any taco truck. The carne asada, beans and rice had little to no flavor and as one other reviewer noted, the burrito was covered in cheese. The server forgot to order our side of fries so we got them about halfway through our meal. I’ve been to many restaurants and have worked in the restaurant industry and feel that any other place would have removed the fries from the bill. Not this place. The staff spoke in Spanish and I overheard the supervisor/manager ask if table 5 had ordered any food. This place is money hungry and skimps on everything, including quality ingredients. The poor choice of Mexican food in the area has catapulted this restaurant to undeserving heights. This place is a joke. Save your money and go anywhere else.

Just go… This is the Boise areas only«classic» mexican restaurant. Is it the best one? Could be… there are several«hole in the wall» mexican eateries that make fine, authentic mexican food in the area. So what makes this one so special? Dependable home cooked food, quslity service. large menu(and everything is good), a local classic! Besides. .you get to come to Kuna(very exciting)…or Koona(for the non– natives). Just go! El G… er um Enriques is an absolute must-do culinary destination here in the valley.

Very poor service. The food is great though and the salsa has good variety. A Togo order was placed and was prepared way too early. Tortillas were soggy and the meat cold. When asked to replace only the tortillas and reheat the meat, they asked me to go somewhere else for lunch. They were confident I had asked for the order at an earlier time. Very very poor customer service. Too bad Enrique wasn’t there to get it right:(

We took a drive out to Kuna(it’s really not that far) to meet up with fellow Unilocaler in crime Nick T. and his girlie to check out Enriques(the restaurant formerly known as El Gallo Giro; don’t confuse it with the El Gallo Giro in Garden City) for some mexican food. A disclaimer — the 4 of us have all lived in Austin, TX so we all know something(or at least think we do) about Mexican/Tex-Mex. Enriques delivered. Margaritas with numerous tequilas within to choose from, tableside guac that was excellent but a little stingy with the portion size(a single avocado… come on man), and extremely good enchiladas with Colorado sauce(I use enchiladas as a sort of benchmark for any place serving Mexican/Tex-Mex). I wholeheartedly recommend Enriques without any hesitation and will definitely be back. You could pair the drive with an after food trip to Cowboys.

Decided to try Enriques based on all of they hype and it was definitely overrated. The place was busy so we waited an average amount of time to get a table. The hostess and wait staff were friendly. The salsa and bean dip served with the chips were bland and so were our meals. We had to douse the meals in hot sauce just to add flavor. We ordered table side guacamole but the server didn’t get it ordered in time and our dinner arrived before the appetizer. The restaurant isn’t fancy and staff were constantly vacuuming while they reset the tables. It seemed odd to be vacuuming during peak dinner hour and added to the overall noisiness of the place. What a disappointment and we will not return. There are much better Mexican restaurants in Boise.

The lunch buffet is great and cheap! Lots of food, and freshly made tortillas. The only thing I saw and was not a fan of what that some of their shrimps were not deveined. Be careful! But overall a fan of this place and we will be back!

Had a late lunch here recently with a buddy during the week. So, none of the«rush hour» problems of which others speak. The serving portion was more than adequate(two chicken enchiladas with rice & beans) on a hot plate … good chips and salsa … bottomless ice tea … attentive service. So, a good, solid Unilocal Four Star location.

I can’t scream enough praises for this place. Not just because their food is delicious, but because their staff is fabulous! The owner is on point! He genuinely cares about his business, regardless of the fact that people are lined up out the door. Respect goes above and beyond for an owner who stops to talk to his customers. Thank you, Sir!

This place is overrated. Everyone talks about it but it’s so over crowded and busy that the service and food suffers. We live in kuna and have given this place way to many chances. Every time we go they mess up the order, the wait time for a table and then for food is horrible. The treasure valley has so many great Mexican places so try somewhere else than here.

Wow does this place get busy on a Saturday night. Definitely glad we were able to snag a spot at the bar and had a very tasty Cadillac margarita. The real winner here is the tableside guacamole, which was very fresh and delicious. I had the burrito colorado which I found to be a little light on the sauce and meat. Overall the restaurant was very good, the bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly and prompt.

Friends recommended that I not miss El Gallo Giro while I was house sitting in Kuna. I am SO glad I took their advice. My husband and I stopped in to enjoy their buffet for brunch. Yes, it’s a hole in the wall, nothing fancy and kind of cramped. but oh so full of life. From the colors and knick knacks to the AMAZINGLY tasty homemade food. There is actually a woman pressing and cooking fresh tortillas right at the buffet. There are a multitude of combinations that can be made from the buffet, and a half ton of toppers at their salsa bar. There is plenty of the hot fresh food and at a price that won’t take a big chunk out of your wallet. If you are near Kuna and have a chance to stop in DO. you will remember the fiesta of tastiness for a looong time.

I know there are a lot of people who really like this place. But it comes across as average to me. Which makes me wonder if there is a lack of really good Mexican restaurants in the treasure valley. I’ve been to Mexico several times and had great food. The food here does not remind me of any of those visits. Really good chips and salsa and great family atmosphere, don’t worry about bringing the young ones.

According to the awesome reviews, I need to take another trip out to El Garro Giro, but after my experience I doubt I will. The customer service, I will say, was great. The greeters directed me over to my date promptly, and our server was attentive and friendly. The food though? Yuck! Neither my date nor I were impressed. In fact, I didn’t even finish my chimichanga because it was so lackluster. Apparently, I’m the only one who’s not enjoyed El Garro Giro, so I’ll let you know if I brave it up and make another trip. However, I don’t think it’s worth the drive.

I live in California. I know good Mexican food. THISISIT! Whenever I visit my sister in Idaho, I make sure we head to El Gallo Giro for a meal. I’ve learned that the husband and wife owners are from LA and Mexico respectively and they know what they’re doing when it comes to Mexican cuisine. Get the guacamole! With every order of guacamole, they come to the table with a guac cart and make it in front of you. The guacamole is DELICIOUS! The chips and beans are awesome as well. I have never had a bad meal here and have enjoyed the flautas and tricolor enchiladas. It’s truly hard to decide what to order because it’s all pretty darn good. I also like their Horchata, which I think most people don’t know about. Horchata is a cinnamon rice water drink and comes in a milky form over ice. It’s delicious and tastes like a liquid form of Cinnamon Toast Crunch(without the crunch, of course). If you like a sweet, cinnamon drink, order the Horchata. Overall, if you’re looking for a great Mexican food restaurant on the outskirts of Boise, head to Kuna. El Gallo Giro will be exactly what you’re looking for. There’s also a bar if that’s something you’re seeking.
