After reading the initial reviews I was excited to try good Chinese food here in the treasure valley. I took the waiter’s recommendation and ordered general’s chicken, mandarin chicken and fried rice. Another crappy, over priced, cheaply prepared Chinese restaurant. My general chicken was moist and Luke warm. The mandarin chicken came plain with a side of sauce which was to no surprise. But the fried rice was the worst of all. It was doused completely with soy sauce and the taste was so diluted. I won’t be going back! I do not recommended spending your money here.

It was very greasy and did not taste at all like chinese food. The prices were high for the quality of food.

Completely yucky and soggy. I ordered the pork pan fried noodles and egg roll. I got a dish full of celery and onions piled on top of watery(not pan fried) noodles. The egg roll tasted nasty and old. I would not recommend this place and would never come back here.

There are a couple of gems in Kuna, but only a couple. After 4 years living here, there are only two places in town I’m willing to eat. Hong Kong Express is one of them. This is primarily a take-out establishment. They have a few tables(5 or so) and wait staff, but don’t expect traditional sit-down dining. This place is set up for take-out and delivery with a couple of tables as an afterthought, which is fine by me. You’ll want to order for delivery anyway. Their delivery is quick, and the delivery people are always fast and courteous. When ordering ahead for take-out my order has always been ready within a couple of minutes of when they said it would be. Now, for the food. It’s excellent. I really didn’t expect it to be, but I have to say it’s some of the better Chinese food I’ve had in Idaho. The Hong Kong Special Fried Rice is very good, with plenty of meat, shrimp and vegetables. They also make a very good General’s Chicken, but my favorite is the Egg Foo Yong, and Sub Gum Egg Foo Yong. All of their food is well prepared in good sized portions. Thier prices are just a little on the steep side for take-out, but I have to admit it’s the best Chinese take-out I’ve had in years, and definately the best I’ve had in the Boise area.
