I was staying in the area for three nights so decided to head out of town for a change for something different. This is about a 20 –25 min drive from the Boise airport area. It was a Sat night and it was not busy. The owner is from Peru and her husband from Mexico so the menu has both items from both. There are not that many Peruvians in the area so variety on the menu would help. Of course Unilocalers are glad to eat most any nationality food, but the average person often is not and esp in more rural areas they might not be so adventurous. They suggest the Lomo Saltado and most diners there order this. My brother ordered it and liked it VERYMUCH. They serve it with fries and a spicey hot sauce made with a variety of peppers. I ordered the Parihuela, a seafood soup as the picture looked real good. It was ok, but the crab I could tell had been frozen awhile and when I saw the Lomo saltado and tasted that spicey hot sauce I knew I should have ordered that too. Help was friendly and we enjoyed our visit. If you dont mind a bit of a drive out of town, go check it out.

The only reason I could justify giving this place one star is because they serve pisco sours. Not good pisco sours but better than nothing I guess. If I had to size this place up in a sentence I would say that the service has to be slow… because you have to be next to starving in order for the food to taste good. There were two people working on a Friday night with a week long standing reservation for 17 people. We were there for 2 hours before we were served the worst food any of us has had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Wow. Let me say that backwards, Wow!!! Being married to a Peruvian I can say that this is truly authentic hand crafted Peruvian cuisine, light, delicious, with no need for sodium additives the ingredients provide perfect flavor. The owners served us and their passion and warmth and humor were the cherry on top!

I had never had Peruvian food before, and now I know it’s amazing. My wife and I shared the Tallarine Saltado and Aji de Gallina. The Tallarine Saltado had very good flavoring with mild spice. The Aji de Gallina had a nice spicy kick which complimented the flavorful dish. The potatoes had a very good texture. The establishment had a nice feel and was very clean. The service was excellent. The ice tea I had was very good and not as bitter and most restaurants. I highly recommend this place; you’ll like it!

Drove from Boise to try the food! It was full of flavor and very delicious! The only complaint was the speed of the food. It took a long long time and with two small children waiting for food. Once it arrives it was soooo worth it! Highly recommend pre ordering food and so it would be ready upon arrival. They had many people show up with take out so seemed like that could be a reasonable request

Wow! What a dining experience. This restaurant is great! Best Salmon I ever tasted. The owners are so friendly and they cook delicious food. Last visit I had Fish Chimi and it was equally as delicious as the Salmon. Will definately return for more. It is located in Kuna, ID and worth every mile of the scienic drive. Try it next time you want a great meal at a very reasonable price! Thank you LIMALIMON! See you again soon

Love this place. The food is terrific and the owners are always there working. They have the best shrimp cocktail around. Never too busy for giving great service and they have a full bar. You should Give them a try especially if you live in Kuna.

When I drove out to Kuna to explore the culinary options at Lima Limon, I was expecting a typical Boise experience of «decent, but not authentic, or notable». That could not be further from the experience we had at Lima Limon. I have been traveling back and forth to Peru for business now for a decade, and have never had better Peruvian cuisine anywhere in that country, or elsewhere. From the Pisco Sour we started with to the desert options, this is the best Peruvian restaurant I’ve visited in my life. Virtually everything on the menu is worthy of note. You would be mad not to drive out here for the best meal of your life!

Very nice, the food and drinks reminded me of my vacation in Peru. Pisco Sour is one of my favorite drinks. I had the ceviche as a starter, I ordered spicy, it packs some heat especially when you order authentic. The Lomo Saltado was delicious, they have a special sauce for it which is not my favorite but it came in an extra bowl.

Not overly impressed with the food or the service on our first trip there. They only had a four top, and a couple of two tops in the restaurant, but a very large party in the bar. I wasn’t served my drink, until I reminded our server, then another server, our ticket was wrong, may have been stretched thin on staff? My big pet peeve, our server only spoke to my companion, who was male and only in Spanish, she wasn’t flirting but was actually a little dismissive when I tried to ask questions. I was thinking she was more comfortable speaking Spanish, yet had no problem speaking in English to the couple in front of us, and yes, she addressed the male mostly too. Tip; when you serve don’t assume that the male in the group is paying or tipping. We always give a place a second try, I hope it will be better next time.

So i was told by a couple guys about this restaurant once they found out i was peruvian. My wife and I decided to stop by and were not disappointed at all. She ordered Aji de Gallina and I ordered Bistek a lo pobre, both freshly made and delicious. I am so glad I found out about this place, I just moved to the area from Virginia and was worried i wouldnt find any peruvian cuisine around but glad i found it. The owner told us they do different events like the Peruvian dance horse and they are gonna start a latin night! Will def go back to this place!

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. We finally made it and we are glad we did. My wife had the Lomo Saltado(Chicken and Steak) and it was excellent. There was a smoked taste to the meat that was unique as this was our first time with Peruvian food. The owner was very kind and graciously gave us his opinion and walked us through the menu. I had the Camarones Con Crema(fancy for Shrimp in Cream sauce) and it as well was full of flavor. I substituted the rice and tortillas for a side of veggies and even the veggies were flavorful. We were really happy with the service and food and we are definitely coming back and especially in the summer where we can sit on the patio and enjoy the nice view of Indian Creek. Make a trip out to Kuna, it is worth it!

Over an hour and 15min for food and that was with reservations. Very inattentive. Hugely disappointed after seeing the good reviews. Ceviche wasn’t completely done, everything just took way too long. When dinner did get here, we had to box it up and take it to go and to add insult to injury they still charged $ 95 bucks!!! BTW, only a group of 4 too.

So happy that this lovely little Peruvian eatery popped up on my radar. Hub and I dropped in for lunch and were greeted by both warm surroundings and a lively, attentive host(owner). I ordered the lomo saltado, one of my favorite Peruvian dishes. It was an apple portion and beautifully presented. Hub had the aji de gallina — shredded chicken in a creamy sauce served over steamed potatoes. It was supposed to served with cheesy toast, but it was left off. Both dishes were made fresh to order and came out piping hot. Hub thought his dish was just about perfect. Mine had great flavor, but I prefer more tender meat(filet/tenderloin) and pan juices for this dish, and for the veg to be a little less raw. The dishes were satisfying and so different from other cuisine we have sampled in the area. The highlight of our meal was the coconut flan which was stellar. It had the most beautiful texture, like a cross between cheesecake and regular flan. It’s made in-house and is definitely something I would order every time when we come back to try other menu items. One suggestion: It could be that they have just opened, but they need much better signage. The building they are in is labeled«Creekside» with much smaller signs beneath that has their restaurant name. There are also two entrances; one for the restaurant and one for the lounge.

Having been born in Colombia, I am used to some really good and plentiful dishes. On my way to Boise from Indiana I researched some Latin restaurants that would somehow be on my way down to Twin Falls from the Boise airport. Lima Limon was one of the first that showed up on my list of options and oh boy, am I glad I went. Upon arrival, I became immediately skeptical as there were two cars in the lot at noon. Thankfully, I didn’t let that fear make me change my mind. I went in and immediately taken aback by the cleanliness, the decoration, the music(Grupo Niche), and the smiley face(that of the owner) who welcomed me inside. I ordered the aji de gallina, which was excellent. As a drink, I had a maracuya pisco(some sort of passion fruit juice mixed with authentic pisco — a famous Peruvian alcoholic beverage) and wow… it was even better, or equally as good as my dish. In closing, I very much would recommend this joint. It took me about 25 mins from the airport. Buen provecho!

Being from South America myself, I jump for joy when find an authentic South American cuisine joint near Boise. I read the Lima Limon review in Boise Weekly and decided to give it a try. Lima Limon does not disappoint. The flavors of the food and the sauces were delicious and fresh. We had the Papa a la Huancaina with the seafood chimichanga and a pollada. It was delicious. We will definitely be back, the sauces alone are worth the drive from Boise, and the perfectly cooked potatoes and chicken are mouth watering. Great food at a good price!

What a great addition to the ethnic food scene in the Boise Valley. Lima Limon is the only Peruvian restaurant between Portland and Salt Lake City and local diners are the winners. Located just off the north bank of Indian Creek, the view out the back window is scenic and soothing. The restaurant, which opened in August, is at the location of the former Creekside Lounge. Chef Deysi Contreras and her husband, Agustin, worked 20 years at Kuna’s renowned Mexican restaurant El Gallo Giro, owned by Agustin’s brother, before opening their own restaurant. Deysi is a native of Lima, Peru’s capital city. I ordered Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian stir fry dish in the fusion tradition brought by immigrants from Guangzhou, China, in the late 1800s. The dish combines marinated steak strips, onions, tomatoes and French fries and served with rice. The beef was very flavorful from the marinade and melded well with the other ingredients. I also ordered Papa a la Huancaina(Huancayo-style potatoes), which features boiled yellow potatoes topped with a creamy Huancaina sauce. The sauce is made from a fresh white cheese, an aji amarillo(yellow Peruvian pepper), evaporated milk and crushed crackers smoothed in a blender. This is different than anything I’ve ever tasted. The potatoes and sauce were served at room temperature and were quite tasty. The peppers added a zip but didn’t overpower. Wonderful. Server Ricky was knowledgable about the menu items and spent quite a bit of time with me talking about the dishes. Deysi and Agustin also came out from the kitchen and talked with me and thanked me for coming in. The restaurant has plenty of room with wooden tables spaced comfortably apart. There are also two larger tables in a board room area with a sliding door that can be closed for privacy. After people discover this wonderful restaurant, they may give El Gallo Giro some real competition. It’s great that Kuna now has two really good restaurants.
