This is my first visit to oasis. My coworkers come up here for lunch every time they visit KSP, although I am not certain why. It was a cool day at the castle on the Cumberland so I thought a nice warm chili would be perfect. Unfortunately, a can of homel chili would have been better than this. My coworker ordered the mashed potatoes and love the white gravy that came with it. So far, I am not impressed with the food, but it is close enough to our hotel that we can walk to it. So there is that.

This was my first visit and my fiancé has been there a handful of times. He prepared me for the fact that they still allow smoking and have the bar and a section dedicated to it so I wasn’t totally thrown off upon entering when the girl asked our preference. Still, it is 2016!!!$%$#@!!! If you want to smoke and kill yourself go for it and I guess if I don’t want to be subjected to it, I’ll dine elsewhere oh wait… there aren’t many other places in this area esp. if we want to watch sports– ugh! Do you think they smoke in the kitchen… As a side note, we couldn’t smell the smoke in the non smoking section so the ventilation must be doing its job. Okay my rant is over. Our server was awesome– she was very attentive and personable. Their complimentary rolls were delightful and she said they are homemade. The food was tasty even though my grilled chicken sandwich was kinda salty– their ranch dressing and bbq sauces were good as is their side salad. My onion/sesame seed bun was hard… My fiancé’s catfish wasn’t greasy at all and the portion was plenty– he enjoyed his food and said he would order again. In closing, the bathroom faucets are cool, the bus boy was working hard to clear tables which was very nice– I can’t stand when dishes stock up, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are in the area and don’t mind a place that still offers smoking, this is your place to enjoy some good food and catch a game or two on the old boob tube.

I’ve been eating at the Oasis since I was younger, and I’ve never had as bad of an experience as I just had. I called to place a to go order, they put me on hold forever. I called back, they put me on hold again but not for long. When I got there to pick up my order, I waited for 10 minutes after pushing the button before anybody came to the window. Then they had to go find which server took my order. When I finally received my order, it wasn’t even correct. I am moving, and I honestly can’t see myself returning to town anytime soon to visit Oasis.

Horrible experience, waitress didn’t know a thing on the menu. She couldn’t even tell if they had Coke or Pepsi. To other vegetarians, The«veggie burger» is actually an Angus patty with lettuce and zucchini on top. What? Def not a veggie burger, and in any other restaurant this would not stand. Dessert came out, not even what we ordered. They smoke in the restaurant, and it’s extremely dirty. I wouldn’t go back.

The place is clean enough… stuck to the floor in the bathroom. Still a smoking restaurant, and we all know how well cigarette smoke stays in the smoking section. Anyway, from the rude hostess to the uninterested waitress, our experience wasn’t great. We were traveling, still close to 500 miles from home and chose this place over the truck stop across the street. The name is highly inaccurate. If this is an Oasis, leave me to die in the desert! I ordered the Ruben. The corned beef didn’t look like corned beef, but it tasted close enough to it. The waitress suggested Cole slaw and fries. Who recommends a sandwich with sauerkraut on it to be eaten with a side of cabbage?!? The fries were fine. And that’s about all I can say. Oh, except that they also gave me the heel of the loaf of bread. THEHEEL! Boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and beans. The beans were horrid. Like horrid. You cannot add vinegar to cheap canned baked beans and pass them off as your own. The potato salad needed salt, but other than that was fine. The pork itself was not good and obviously leftover from a previous day. Ordered off the lunch menu, and thank goodness, because I would not have paid their dinner prices to eat the kind of food we were served.

Steak poor quality for a $ 25 T-Bone and ½ chicken was dry. Manager challenged us on the temp of the steak as we ordered med-rare and it came back med-well. It was so thin that it could not be determined what heat it was cooked to. Chicken was so dry that even the thigh had no juices left in it. We decided just to leave but even with the $ 20 discount on the bill, we still had to go to another restaurant to have our dinner. Nice atmosphere… too bad the food was so bad.

Do not be fooled, this is a smoking establishment! Virtually no measures in place to contain the smoke from the bar and their«non-smoking» section is right next to a brick wall riddled with open lattice windows. Non-smoking indeed, what a joke. My wife and I were going to take our food to go, but the smoke was burning our lungs so we walked out.

I would give this restaurant a 4 star. except for one major item – the water is foul. Tastes like mildew or mud. The food and service are great but the terrible tasting water overwhelms the positives. If you have an iced drink, the ice is probably from the same source. Hope the owner/manager sees this review and does something about it.

I have eaten at the Oasis several times over the past 3 years. Some meals were excellent, others merely good. .. Until today. Unfortunately today’s lunch was just awful. Country fried steak that was so overcooked it was hard as a brick and totally inedible. Ditto the wild rice. The green beans were slightly better, but not much. I should have sent it all back but I didn’t want to make a «scene.» On a positive note the server was very nice and the rolls were very good. Not sure if I will be back after this experience. Sad, really. Update: 2 years later(9÷2÷15) wife and I ate here again. Completely different experience this time. Had fried catfish and sides of rice and baked beans. All were excellent. Hush puppies were really good, as was the service. Nice to see such an improvement and felt it was only fair to update my previous review.

Clean place. Friendly staff. Good food. Nothing fancy, but everything I tasted was good. Ended up here while briefly stranded on a road trip. :)

We were there for dinner last Saturday, 6÷6÷15. The place was busy, but we got seated fairly quick. They seated us in a booth right next to their food staging area where they put dishes on trays to be taken to the tables. Let’s just say we won’t be back here again. Here are the reasons why: — The steamed broccoli comes out in a plastic baggy with a small bowl for the server to transfer. That may not be a big deal for most but what of the BPAs? · Macaroni cheese or some type of tubular pasta in a cream sauce also came out nuked flat in a pasta bowl with an empty bowl where the server transfer so it looks freshly cooked and doesn’t appear as it just came out of a microwave · Seen several servers have dirty rags dangling on their back pocket, not sure the use of it, but seen them wiping the food off of a plate before taking out to the table, wiping some food that got on their fingers, really hoping it was not the same rag they wipe the tables with · And the worst thing ever, drum roll please, is they touch food with their bare hands. I mean grabbing the food! With unwashed bare hands!!! The guy who appear to be some type of manager that puts dishes on the tray picked up some kind of fried balls, maybe hush puppies, onto a different plate. And the server rearranged them with her bare hands too, wow! Within a couple of minutes, the same server, who was shaking the microwave steamed broccoli out of the plastic bag picked up a floret that fell on the tray with her fingers and threw it on the bowl. We apologized to our server that we can’t stay for dinner after seeing all that. She tried to assure us by saying they wash their hands. I assured her that they didn’t wash their hands in between touching the food, trays, their hair, and dirty rags, etc.

We have been coming to this restaurant every Memorial Day for over 8 years now. We’ve always had a decent experience… until tonight. They were busy, which I understand. The server was new, also understandable. However, we waited an hour for our food. I ordered a simple grilled chicken salad. I received a fried chicken salad… and it was literally the size of a side salad. The tomatoes were rotten. The lettuce was brown. I wish I would have taken a picture of it.(Please note, this salad was $ 10.00) Needless to say, I got the manager and explained my situation. He offered to fix me a new salad which would only take a few minutes.(Again, we had already waited an hour) I agreed. 10 minutes later, he brought a new salad with grilled chicken, just as small as the first one. I give up! We had to pay full price for the meal, which I feel should have been comped. The manager apologized before we left and said that he hopes our next experience is better. Unfortunately, we will never be returning. I’d rather go to Wendy’s next door.

We went on a Sunday and the restaurant still has a lunch menu with several good items. My spouse ordered the turkey and dressing which was very good, some ordered the beef tips, and fried catfish. The catfish were small strips however they were good. Service was excellent and the prices for Sunday lunch just can’t be beat. One of our favorite dining spot in Western Kentucky, Plenty of parking out front, clean restrooms and lost of seating. Excellent var area is very large. Lots of TV sets all over the restaurant so you will not miss any sports activities.

Although the food was excellent, dining out isn’t just about the food. We arrived early for dinner, expecting to be in and out in no time. Well… When we were seated at a small table, we asked to move to a four-person table. The hostess moved us — with a huff! The slow service started from there and continued throughout dinner. Two other tables who arrived after us, got their food before we were served. And we ordered the special. When we got our bill, the evening special was not discounted so the check had to go back to be corrected.

This was our first time to the oasis and I have to say I had very low expectations after reading some of the reviews. They have changed my mind for sure. Our waitress Charlotte made our visit here amazing. She was very pleasant and answered all our questions and suggested some great food. Now on to the food. My husband had the cowboy ribeye and was blown away by how good it was. The sides he ordered were the loaded baked potatoes and the mushrooms. The mushrooms were the only complaint he had and after telling our waitress she said she would have replaced them. I ordered the fried shrimp and was pleased. A couple of them were over cooked, but the portion size made up for the couple that I didn’t want to eat. My sides were the potato salad and the fried okra. I have to say it’s the best fried okra I’ve had in yrs. If you ever stop in I’d say ask to be sat in Charlotte’s section.

Food was good, didn’t see published drink prices… They were a bit on the high side. Waitress was pleasant but could have been more attentive. Would eat there again as we travel that way often.

Steakhouse with lots of choices of meat! They have tilapia, shrimp, catfish, steak, ribs, pork chop, pulled pork burgers, etc. And each entrée comes with 2 sides. Sides include mashed potato, sweet potato, fries, button mushrooms, steamed veggies, steamed broccoli, green beans, etc. The server we got was super nice and helpful. The grilled pork chop I got wasn’t the best cause it was a bit dry, but their rolls are really good! Comes out warm and fluffy! They also have lots of drinks and beer on tap. Lots of TVs for sports watching. And they even have smoking and non-smoking indoor seating. This restaurant is within walking distance to the Hampton inn.

Because I was staying at the Hampton Inn next door on a business trip, I ended up eating here a couple of times. Other reviews made me a little apprehensive, but both meals were very good. Some highlights: Rolls — very good, soft, like the ones from Texas Roadhouse Grilled telapia and shrimp — a bit spicy but pretty good for being in western Kentucky Filet mignon — pretty good and done well without being burned Baked potatoes — they could lose the aluminum foil wrapping, but still good enough I would eat here again, although it may be a while before I am back in the area again.
