St. Francis High School

I’m a graduate of St. Francis, and let me tell you, there’s not a better school you can attend. Everything is top notch, from the administration, faculty all the way to their beautiful campus. They truly care about educating youth and challenging young men to be the best people they can be.

My son graduated from St. Francis 3 years ago. It was the best decision made for his education. When a teenage boy tells you he likes his school. That says it all. It may not be for everyone, but it was perfect for him.

After 4 years, my son will graduate this year from St. Francis High School. I can’t thank enough this great high school, and I am so glad that I choose them 4 years ago. I am so proud of my son right now. He got the best education and discipline from this school

I am the proud father of two boys that both graduated from St. Francis. Beyond the excellent education they received, they are both quality young men, thanks in large part to the St. Francis environment and culture. Both boys are now at excellent universities, and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Thank you St. Francis for playing such a positive role in their development! I would recommend St. Francis to anyone that is looking for their son to grow into a fine young man.

I am a graduate of St. Francis and I have two son’s at SF now. The first thing that I can say is that there are still teachers at SF that were there when I was there nearly 30 years ago, there are teachers there now that were students at SF when I was there and most of the staff have been there over 10 years.
The education and the athletics are second only to the brotherhood and the type of man the school develops. A week does not go by that I do not see or communicate with former classmates. They are still some of my very best friends.
I continue to give back and volunteer at the School that has given me so much in my life.

St. Francis is a great school! The teachers are exceptional. They push their students to be the best, and to serve their communities. Teachers really care for their students, and go above and beyond to help their student in anyway. Their plays and musicals are magnificent.

My son graduated from Saint Francis Awesome school. Some people ask why would you want to send your son to an all boys school. They get each other You know the guy humor they think is funny They are surrounded by it. They are themselves not out to prove how cool they are because they’re are no girls around They form bonds that will last. They teach all about other religions Have a very good academic standing My son is attending UCLA Wow was I happy he got in So hard these days. They are on a block schedule which is great for Homework They also have a program so you can watch their grade activity. Service Hours are required Sports They even have rugby and biking besides the others. You want to be involved Join the Mothers Guild or Football or other teams parents that help out. Not to big so your son won’t get lost in the mix. My son was shy so this was a good place for him. Nice homey atmosphere They have sister schools so yes they do get to see girls They come in droves to the events Why not all these fine young men in one place!!! We will always love St. Francis

Like all parents, you consider several things for your child, safety, learning, adjustments and preparation for college. The location alone will tell you how safe it is as it is nestled in a nice neighborhood of La Canada, close to JPL. The adjustments from 8^th grade to 9^th was very fluid as each freshmen are introduce to their peer with the guidance of a junior and a senior, this one was really impressive as i have not seen this in any other schools. The concept of brotherhood (St. Francis is an all boys school), is outstanding as they see each other as brothers and they stand by each other as brother. I know a graduate from this school that told me they once went to a mall as juniors, and saw a student from St. Francis being bullied at the mall by other students from another school. They knew he was a freshman since one of the junior was one of his tutors. They all descended and stood up for the freshman even though they barely know him at all. A sign of brotherhood to the extreme, maybe, but an assurance that they will not tolerate bullying among them, nor will they let any of their brethren down.
All schools will boast of their learning potential, and i agree with them, but as a parent, this school taught much more than education. It taught the kids to be responsible, respectful, and mature in all their undertakings. A personal experience of mine would give you an insight on this extras. Every time i would go with my son and take him to someone’s house even though they are all acting like any normal teen would be, once a parent comes into view, they would all stop what they are doing, stand up and respectfully introduce themselves, extend their hands and greet you. And when you have them as guest in your house, they are so delightful and respectful, not forgetting the words, please, thank you, may i. and lots more. Just a joy to have them around as you are reminded of their potential to affect the incoming batch or younger generations of St Francis students.
Oh and by the way, the parents are always welcome and the staff very open. The Franciscan friars are always present with any event, thereby instilling the value of a good education and no discrimination as to your race, faith or sexual orientation, a good and decent place to send your son to.

St. Franics is a wonder high school. From the moment you son sets foot on the campus as a freshmen, he is expected to begin to act like a mature young man. The environment is supportive, demanding, active, and humane. The boys are confronted with high expecations, and caring and talented teachers to help them grow into good men.
Both of our boys either graduated from or are currently attending the school. The education has been excellent and demanding. This is a school for bright kids, but also good kids. The school caters to the development of the soul as well as the intellect.

This school is so together, there is not 1. Thing to complain about! I recommend anyone looking for a high school for their son, who wants the top of the line in curriculum, staff/​faculty and campus, sports, etc to give them a try!

As a proud alumni from this school (Class of 2008) words cannot even begin to express just how grateful and blessed I am to have attended such a wonderful high school.
Although this may not appeal to some people due to the fact that it is an all guy high school, the education and the friendships that I’ve gained here is something that cannot be duplicated. As a current college student (currently pursuing nursing) Saint Francis High School has not only given me the tools necessary to excel in my nursing program but also beyond the scope of college life. They’ve not only instilled in me the values and morals that makes me who I am today but also showed me the importance of humility and humbleness and how incorporating these values into my life truly affects the way I see and experience the world around me.
Throughout the course of my time here, I have also been blessed with many dedicated professors who were not only all very accommodating and helpful but also took so much time of their time and effort to make sure that we understood the material thoroughly. It was this sort of commitment to excellence that not only benefited me but also many of my classmates as well.
Looking back on my experience now, it is safe to say that Saint Francis High School has not only prepared me mentally but spiritually as well and it is that type of education that truly sets this school apart from many other schools in La Canada.
If you or somebody you know is planning on attending high school next year or maybe down the road and values a Catholic College Preparatory education, I highly suggest looking into Saint Francis High School.
Although high school may only be for 4 years, the memories, lessons and friendships that are made here truly lasts a lifetime…

St. Francis has offered a wonderful education and high-​school experience to my son. The faculty and staff are deeply committed to fostering young men educationally, spiritually and emotionally, while at the same time guiding them along the path of traditional Franciscan values. The school has a very competitive sports program, as well as a stellar theater department, and offers a large variety of club and leadership opportunities for boys. SFHS’s motto is «Enriching the Hearts and Minds of our Students.» As a mom, I cannot begin to explain how SFHS has helped develop my 2 sons into good students as well as good people. SF is a family, a community, not just a school. The staff truly cares about each student as a person, taking time to get to know them, interact and assist outside of the classroom. While winning in sports and in life is encouraged, SFHS only allows winning with grace and humility. At every event they attend, our students get kudos from leaders about their sportsmanship, manners and helpfulness. Retreats and service projects only add to the formation of these boys as true men of honor. My sons could easily have earned Ivy League+ grades at the local public schools and joined clubs just for their resumes. Instead, here they were challenged academically and personally, and grew from it. I am proud to be able to send 2 well-​rounded, well-​adjusted sons into the world. I have St. Francis to thank for much of that.

St. Francis High School did an extraordinary job preparing me for college and the world beyond. Some of my best, lifelong friends are those who I met while at St. Francis. I hope to be able to send my son there one day.
