Elite Taekwondo Center – La Crescenta

TAE-​KWON! lol lol… I still remember doing taekwondo from when I was… itty bitty.
Elite Taekwondo Center is by far the best tkd studio in La Crescenta/​Glendale. I would say this studio is the Harvard of Taekwondo studios haha. Although there are many studios offering classes for much cheaper, I would say you get what you pay for.
Master Paul teaches his students a set of values and morals beyond what most martial arts schools teach. He teaches the true essence of what Tae Kwon Do really should be and he’s very kind and… good looking AHAHA
I sat in on one of his classes for my nieces class and I was very impressed. My niece is 5 years old and is usually very shy about doing anything (she probably doesn’t take it from me… I’m all over the place.) Master Paul comforted her in a very soft but yet stern voice and helped her start the classes with no problem. One thing that really got to me was how he truly talks to his students like he really cares about their feelings. Most teachers will just treat them like kids but he genuinely tries to listen and help his students.
He offers a trial program which includes a free uniform for $ 49 for 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks you are free to do what you choose. Whether you decide to continue or you decide to try something different. What helped my family decide on this place was that Master Paul was not trying to sell his service, but rather he gave us no pressure whatsoever to decide and gave us the option of continuing or not.
My niece attends twice a week and these classes are assigned to what he wants his class sizes manageable.
The parking lot is elevated above foothill and is a bit hard to find but once you know where it is, it is hard to miss.
I recommend Elite Tkd Center to kids of all ages! I mean hell… I would join too … Hahaaha
Let me remind you … taekwondo is a very good workout and those that are oh so curious about how the master looks go for the trial hahaha! :)

I take the women’s class that is offered on Monday and Wednesday nights. It’s a women’s only class that is pretty intense… But I like it.
I’ve been taking his classes about 1 year now and I have lost so much weight. I lost about 15 lbs of fat and gain some lean muscles. He focuses on core strength and does a lot of leg and glut workouts. He also works out your arms to tone up those jiggly things underneath the arm. If you are looking for an intense cross fit like workout without any heavy weights, this is the class for you!
His sessions are 5 weeks long twice a week. It’s between 8:30 — 9:30pm and there is plenty of parking available. Very clean facility and the workout environment is amazing! The women in the class are so supportive and encouraging that it makes you want to push yourself to improve.
Plus, the instructor is hot… :X

I signed up my two boys (7 and 5 years old), and they enjoy the classes and look forward to them every week. The facility is clean, which is important to me as it shows the care of the owner. The biggest factor that I believe makes this place successful and made us sign up for the long haul is Master Paul. He is very patient with all the kids. And although he can infuse some humor here and there, he never compromises discipline and will get on kids if they are out of line, which I appreciate. He does a good job teaching actual taekwondo technique, but he also tries to incorporate lessons about being respectful and overall good citizens to the kids. Although it’s exciting to see actual improvement in my kids, the biggest reward for me is seeing my boys having fun as I know they genuinely enjoy the classes.

I wanted to put my nephew in self defense classes in the area and I heard about elite taekwondo center. I went in to check out a class to see if it was right for my nephew.
I came in and spoke with Master Paul. While talking to him I found out that Master Paul is a 6^th Dan black belt and unlike other masters, he teaches all of his classes. He has been open for over 9 years so he is well experienced. He has also produced many black belts over the years which is very impressive. But that’s not what got me to want my nephew to come here. What wanted me to get my nephew here was the way Master Paul teaches. He adapts to each and every kid and teaches them discipline and respect. Moreover he is very detailed (and simple) in his instructions and emphasizes actual martial arts so I feel as though my nephew will be in good hands.
As I was watching his classes I could see that he truly loves teaching the kids and his students love him back. It’s definitely a great environment for any child to learn and improve. And unlike other taekwondo places I checked out, master Pauls dojo was very clean and organized.
The only downside about this place is parking. The lot is small so it can get busy but I’m sure it shouldn’t be a problem if you come to the correct time your child is assigned. But seriously it’s really worth the wait. Parking shouldn’t be stopping you from having your child attend a great class.

Best Tae Kwon Do school in LA Crescenta! Very clean facility! Been to all the other schools around the area and nothing compares. All other schools seem like a babysitting service but this school actually teaches the martial art. Been sending my son here for 4 years now and I’m so happy I stuck with it. My best advice is to go to the schools and check it out and you will see the difference. Master Paul tries his best to keep his classes fun but yet strict! Recommend this school highly!

I have been sending my kids here for 3 years and my kids love the school! They were hesitant to come at first but after attending a few classes they fell in love! Master Paul was very patient with them and was able to help them love taekwondo. My kids have tried all other sports and they dont seem to like it. However, i am very surprised that they stuck with this for so long.
Master Paul is great with the kids and you can tell he genuinely loves his students. They love coming to all the sleepover events he has and look forward to coming to learn!
I was skeptical to sign up at first but i am so glad that i stuck with it. They are full of confidence now and this was the best investment i made for my kids!

Ive been bringing my daughter here for 3 years now and she is soon to test for her black belt. She loves coming to taekwondo and has improved drastically on all her motor skills and flexibility. She is a lot more confident in herself and when she does sparring she can usually overpower the boys her age. She loves Master Paul because he genuinely seems to love and care for his students. He is strict but yet loving and i really like that about him. Most teachers are either really strict or too nice but he has a good balance of both. I highly recommend this school! All her classmates at monte vista attend here and they love coming here!

Both of my kids are enrolled with master Paul. Him and Steven are great instructors. The class is great and teaches the kids discipline. I recommend this place to everyone

I’ve been a student here for 4 years and I love all the time I’ve spent with everyone here. When I first came here I was very shy and my form and sparring techniques weren’t as good but master Paul truly helped me through everything. He really tries his best to make his students succeed and puts extra time and energy until they improve. I got my 4^th degree black belt here and I’m really thankful for everything he has done for me. He wrote one of the best recommendation letters for my college as well! He also has a women’s class that does workouts almost like insanity, T25, and the Brazilian butt! So if moms or any women are looking for a good workout class I’ll recommend taking his classes! It’s at 8:30pm so it’s perfect for moms that put their kids to bed and need a good workout. I probably lost over 20 pounds in a span of 2 years. I love how I feel now and would love to continue as long as I can.

Our 2 year experience with Master Paul and the staff are amazing. I have two boys who attend and they really enjoy their time here. Not only is he a great instructor but even goes that extra mile for our kids. We feel like family here and can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Elite TKD is an excellent studio. The facility is clean and well-​maintained. Master Paul and the other instructors are wonderful with the kids. They take TKD seriously, but definitely add lots of fun. Master Paul has high expectations of the students not only for TKD form and sparring, but also for character, morals, values and respect. I love how he teaches the kids to respect and appreciate their parents and instills ideals for good citizenship. He also promotes independence in the kids and keeps them accountable for their actions. Master Paul has a great rapport with all the kids and, as a result, they all love him! The students have a chance to earn a «straight A’s trophy» (along with other TKD trophies). My boys have been very motivated to get straight A’s so they can receive this prestigious award!
My 3 sons have grown so much through their experiences at Elite TKD. My older two are about to test for their black belt. The years spent at the center have boosted their confidence, improved their agility and taught them so much about the martial art form. My youngest just started his TKD training and has a long road ahead, but hopefully he too will be testing for his black belt in a few years!

We’ve been wanting our son to try taekwondo for the past year and through referrals and recommendations, we decided to give Elite a try. I must admit, I had to push my son through the door and I will never forget the first thing he said to Master Paul «I don’t want to do karate». Without skipping a beat, Master Paul told him to just give it a chance and that if he still felt that way after a month then he could quit… Fast forward 3 months and my son not only wants to go to class, he practices at home! Master Paul and Master Steven not only teach the fundamentals, they take a vested interest in the children, instilling discipline, order, respect and work ethic.

My 6 y.o. son has been attending taekwondo classes for 3 months (twice per week) and he loves it! My son’s endurance, flexibility, and coordination has vastly improved in the short time since he started. He not only gets a great workout, he also learns life lessons such as respect and discipline. His grandparents are thrilled that he has learned to properly «bow» to them, which he learned in class. Master Paul and Master Steve are excellent instructors that are very knowledgeable, yet extremely patient with the kids. I HIGHLY recommend Elite Taekwondo Center!

My son and daughter have been attending here for almost 3 years. They are only a month away from their black belt test and I can honestly say that it has been one of the best activities they have done. Not only are they learning form, kicks, and sparring techniques, they have learned much more than just Taekwondo. The discipline and concentration that they have acquired here has been amazing, especially for my son. Master Paul is a fantastic teacher. Not only because of how he teaches, but because how he interacts with his students. He is very stern, as he expects respect and focus in his class, but he is so much fun. My kids absolutely adore him.
As a small business owner myself, I am very impressed with how he runs his classes and the service provided here. I have recommended Elite to many friends and will continue to do so for many years. I don’t review much on Unilocal,but this one is one I feel really deserves it!

I have two boys attending Elite Taekwondo (ages 7 & 5) and they really LOVE it. Masters Paul is patient, dedicated and has encouraged my boys to be the best they can be. He is very knowledgeable and great with kids as he can be stern but also fun. Not only does he focus on tkd techniques but also about discipline, self-​confidence and respect. When I first walked into the studio, I was very surprised to see how clean the place was. I walked in during one of their classes and it was amazing how disciplined the kids were. It looked like they were having fun and still learning at the same time. Most places I’ve visited seemed like it was just daycare but this place actually teaches kids how to focus and teaches them proper manners such as bowing and respecting one another. I highly recommend this school to anyone that wants their kids to really learn taekwondo the proper way. My nephew loves it here!

We have been attending classes for just about one year, and we are extremely pleased. By far, this is the best studio we have attended. Master Paul’s training is amazing he really works with everyone from children to adults. My daughter has improved on her forms, sparring and conditioning. She is confident, secure and ready to compete thanks to Master Paul’s training.

My son has been at USBBC since he was 6, he loves it here, and he is now a high brown belt There are many kids his age and the instructors are great with kids. Master Paul is also super with the kids and knows when he needs to be strict. Not only are the kids learning TKD, but they are learning discipline and respect.

My Grade School Child just began here and it is truly great. It’s only been 2 months but he loves it and so do we. It is not just great physically, but mentally too. It has built his strength, confidence, and improved his focus.
I highly recommend.
