This place has had different ownership throughout the years and the change is noticeable. It’s a different atmosphere and the staff is very helpful now.
On to the service: Let me start off by saying that I was on a budget. I mentioned to the person helping me how much I was looking to spend. He began asking questions about my goals and routines, but what came after was the reason I’m giving them 5 stars. I got out of there with more than I intialy expected. I also received a magazine and a coupon.

A GNC is a GNC is a GNC. The store had what I was looking for, and I walked away with a purchase… However, the sales-​people were mind-​blowingly unhelpful. It was almost painful to deal with them.
I asked for clarification on an advertised «% off» to see if it was off of the original or membership price. It ended up being a headache, with the sales-​people going back and forth trying to figure it out, and being generally confusing in their responses.
Me: «Does this % off apply to the original price, or the membership price?»
GNC: «You need a membership card to get that discount.»
Me: «Great, so with a membership card, do I get the additional % off of the membership pricing?»
GNC: «You get 25% off of the box.»
Me: «Off of the membership price?»
GNC: «You need a membership card for the membership price.»
Me: «…»
I haven’t been back since. My recommendation would be to go elsewhere if you plan on asking any questions about products or sale prices.

Shant gave me a friendly greeting and was very courteous. I told him that I wanted the Whey Gold Standard, but I’m allergic to milk and soy. He said that I should not take that product because it’s made from milk.
I told him what I really wanted was whey protein for my post work out and as a meal supplement. He suggested the whey protein hydrolysate which is easy on the digestive system and works faster to build muscles from the amino acids.
It was great that he spent time educating me and helping me make the best choice.

I don’t understand what people are complaining about. Yes it’s a small place but it’s nice and way easier to drive to than the Vitamin Shoppe in Glendale.
Everyone I have encountered here has been nice and informative. Maybe they hired new staff since those reviews? I don’t know, but it’s a nice place in my opinion.
Like many small shops some of their pricing is high but some is low compared to other places like it.
I recommend it. It’s quiet inside most of the time. But other than that it’s nice and clean and well lit.

Fukk this place! This dumb ass tells me if I git a membership card that I can getta discount. This jakkhole didn’t tell me tha card wuz 15 fukkn dollarz… so I ended up pay $ 15 2 sav $ 7…0_o WTF sense duz that make. I’m takin this bullsh1t back 2morrow!

Horrible customer service! First off, I called this store during the day and spoke to a female asking about one there products that they had in stock. I told her I found it online on another website for cheaper then what there regular NON MEMBER PRICE was. She continued to say that if I show them the price on my cellphone they will match the price guaranteed. As I get there, there was a guy who helped me find the product I was looking for. He tried pushing me into buying one of there own brand products which I did not want to do. When I asked him to match what I had online (Which was actually more then there member price, because I am not a member, he said that he couldn’t do it and it was impossible that someone at there store said such a thing. (Needless to say I drove 20 minutes out of my way just to get to this store. If possible try ordering online. I ordered what I needed from Amazon and got it in 2 days. The reason I gave them 2 stars was because there store looked nice and clean.

Today at around 10:00AM I looked up what Pre Workout supplements GNC carries online. I saw they had a 30 Serving SuperPump and N.O.Explode for about $ 25 each. I placed a call to the GNC in La Crescenta to ask if they had this in stock at the store and to confirm what the price was.
The gentleman who answered the phone gave me a different price than what I saw online. I asked him if they did not sell things at the same price as they do online and he asked me what item I was looking at and what the price was. I informed him I wanted the 30 serving size of the NO Explode or SuperPump for $ 25. He took a second and told me yes, they had that. and went further to tell me they also had a 50 serving NO Explode for $ 38. I said «ok, sounds good, Ill be there a little later to purchase the $ 25, 30 serving NO Explode.
Around 1:00 PM, in near record heat, I make my way to the La Crescenta GNC. Upon entering, a young man asks me if he can help me. I told him to point me to the Pre Workout Drinks.
After only seeing large serving size containers of ANY pre workout supplement I ask the employee where the 30 serving size NO explode was at, or where the SuperPump was… he then proceeds to tell me they dont have it! I informed him I called earlier to confirm it was in stock and the price and had been told they had it and for the price I saw online. he told me «well you didnt talk to me». I did a lap or two around the store looking for the product just in case it was seperated from the larger sizes, but it wasnt anywhere. I then looked at the 50 serving size NOXplode and the price was $ 44 or something like that… definately not the $ 38 I had been told on the phone. What a complete waste of my time… which i was sure to tell the employee. He responded sorry as I walked out.
Stick to Vitamin shoppe or online purchases at nutraPlanet. This place is horrible.

Store was pretty small and the salesperson was rather creepy. I observed him selling a weight loss supplement to a woman and basically fed her any answer that she seemed to be hoping for. When I showed him the what I was looking for on the GNC website, he said they don’t carry it in the store because it’s not a good product. I pointed out the excellent reviews the product received. He said something like GNC pays people to write those reviews and I shouldn’t pay attention to that. Anything to make a sale, I guess. Walked out and ordered my product on amazon.

James W., the store manager, contacted me and had this to say:
«Hilary, thank you for the review, but I think you got the wrong store. Can you please come by to shop at our store? I’m pretty sure you reviewed the wrong store since we are one of the largest GNC stores in California. Our stock is not limited at all.»
So I stand corrected. GNC considers this store a big store. But that’s not really the point. The point is that the store didn’t carry what I was shopping for. And yes, I am sure it was in this store.

I feel so much stronger by taking GNC Mega Men Multivitamin and Triple Strength Fish Oil with Resveratrol antioxidant. Highly knowledgeable staff who are passionate about nutrition and fitness at work as well in their personal lives !!! :)

I usually don’t pay much attention to vitamin stores because they always seem to be too small and staffed by questionable people.
This place caught my eye because it is probably the biggest vitamin store on the west coast if not the LA area in general. And the staff was very helpful too.
