M. J. B. Flooring

M.J.B. Flooring was actually recommended to me by the folks who painted my interior walls. They have worked together often in the Crescenta Valley, and since the painters did a good job, I took their recommendation, and called Mike Bako. I had a budget, I had a big job, I was terrified of the expense. Mike came to look at my property at my convenience, took measurements, and left samples about 18″ x 18″ with the recommendation that I move them around the house at different times of day to see how I liked them. I did that, and fell in love with the hickory… grown, cut, milled and processed in the U.S. His quote for my open concept home… entry, living room, dining room, and bedroom, was well within my budget. He asked for half the total cost up front to buy supplies. The job started as soon as he had the supplies. He made every effort to accommodate my lifestyle… making sure that all mess and materials were out of my way when I came home at night, and that I could still watch TV and move around. The job took 7 business days, and the results exceeded all my expectations. I wanted to vault to Unilocal right away and sing praises, but my realistic side said live with it a while, grow into it. Learn how to maintain it, and then write. So that’s what I’m doing. I’ve lived with it, designed around it, grown into it, and maintained it for 6 months… right through the holidays. I could NOT be happier. The floor is perfection. I’d do it again, but I don’t need to. Mike and his team were great. They made suggestions, provided me with options about other things… like stair refinishing and closet door installation, that seriously made my living space better. If you’re into local and U.S. Made, give them a call. If you’re nervous about the cost and the workmanship, give them a call. You will not be disappointed. I wasn’t.

We hired Mike on the recommendation of two good friends to install new flooring in our kitchen and dining room after our washing machine flooded both rooms and destroyed the floors. We could not be happier with the results. He helped us choose the perfect replacement flooring, and took great care with the installation from start to finish. He does the work himself to ensure that it is done to his high standards. Our floors look even better than they did before the disaster! You cannot go wrong hiring this amazing professional.
