Like Panera… BUTBETTER. Every sandwich on their menu is amazing. They have the best gyros I’ve ever had.

We meet here regularly for lunch — about once a week. I’ve liked almost everything I’ve ordered. The Italian BLT is my favorite. I get it almost every time. The pastrami sandwich was very good also although it may not be a regular menu item. The 5 Star Mushroom and Cream of Chicken with Wild Rice soups are outstanding, as is the Beer Cheese soup when available. I ordered the Vegetable Beef Barley soup once but it was so salty that I returned it to the kitchen. I was chided for doing so and told to ask for a sample first next time. Oh, ok. Live and learn, I guess! One area they could improve upon is coffee and desserts. Coffee isn’t on the menu but I discovered that you can order it anyway. I did… once. They made a whole pot and set it out on the counter which I thought was generous of them. But it tasted very ordinary and there was no cream or half and half, only a cheap non-dairy powdered creamer. Yuk. Why not invest in a Keurig coffee maker? The Subway downtown has one and it brews a delicious cup of coffee. The desserts consist of cookies or brownies. The cookies are overpriced for what you get. I ordered a brownie… once. It wasn’t fresh or tasty. Why not bring in something better from a local bakery? Other than that you can get a good sandwich, cup or bowl of soup, and salad here, and the atmosphere is nice enough.

This is a must visit for soup lovers. The gyros and sandwiches are good also but for me it’s all about the soup. The loaded baked potato soup is awesome. If you arrive during the lunch rush don’t let the sight of the long line scare you. The keep it moving quickly and in no time you’ll be enjoying your good.

This was an excellent choice for lunch. My husband and I each had a cup of soup and split a sandwich. The Asiago bisque was outstanding as was the clam chowder. The ham and cheese that we shared was very good. It was very crowded and not enough seating. There were single patrons taking up large tables for 4 so we had to stand around for a bit. it would be helpful if the workers could assist with steering single patrons to small tables. The food was great and I would certainly return.

Good place for soups and sandwiches. I’ve tried the clam chowder and loaded baked potato soups, and both were delicious. The sandwiches are good, but I get the feeling my Numero Uno sandwich doesn’t always have the prosciutto it’s supposed to.

BUYTHENUMEROUNO. Sandwiches are great and all, but this sandwich changed the game. Italian meats galore. I’m coming back here every time I visit Lacrosse.

Pickermans is a favorite of mine. The potato soups are always my first pick. The only thing holding me back from a five star rating is that portions are very small and it is rather expensive for a very small soup and sandwich. Flavor is great, selection is great, and staff are very friendly!

Great selection of soups and sandwiches here! While I was in La Crosse, I made this my usual lunch spot and it did not disappoint. The best deal is the #2 combo, which comes with any sandwich and any selection of soup along with a medium drink. The broccoli cheddar and clam chowder is a soup you can’t go wrong with. This is the place to go for a quick bite that will get you through a good portion of the day.

Seems like a great spot for a good lunch. They had a BUNCH of soup options and the sandwich we had was very good as well. Overall, the value was pretty good as we got a bowl of soup, sandwich, and pop for about $ 12. The service was friendly and quick.

Pickermans was my lunch spot in La Crosse. They have a delicious gyro with amazing pita bread. Their vegetarian sandwich is also so good! Best thing on the menu though is the soup. Their southwest roasted corn was good. Also can’t go wrong with one of their chowders. I miss Pickermans and love when I get the chance to eat lunch here. It’s a great location and easy to meet up with people. Their small parking lot also comes in handy.

We found this place by chance. It was quick and it had a nice outdoor spot for our group and the dog we brought with us. We ordered the special for the day for the local Octoberfest celebration.(bratwurst sandwich) it was creative and tasty.
