It was like walking into a dark, seedy dungeon with strong, cheap booze and punk rock in the juke box. I felt at home even though it was my first time there. An instant favorite.

This place is great. I was downtown in LAX after a wedding and my bf said to me, «I know a bar that you will really like, I used to go there all the time when I lived here.» He was so right. Very dark, very rock and electronic with a vintage black-and-white horror film playing on a wall by the bar. The alcohol is all sitting on the back wall in decorative box settings with melted candles and trinkets scattered throughout. Crazy insane wall murals that you could get lost in all night. I have never been to a bar like this and I would frequent all the time if I lived closer! Obviously most bars are pretty mainstream and aimed at the average bar-hopping crowd, but this place, mainstream it is not. The two of us probably looked extraordinarily out of place in our wedding attire but no one was rude or gave us snide looks. The bartender was very nice. I would definitely go back.

Great bar and staff! Dive bar, dark, eclectic music and everybody there is just awesome!

At first glance this place looks like the diviest of all dive bars and potentially the place your parents warned you to avoid. In reality it is one of the best bars I have ever been in. The beer and liquor selection is excellent and the bartenders have a pretty good knowledge of how to mix drinks. The inside is covered with some bizarre artwork but it is real art and not something that the bar owner bought on discount from Home Goods. I used to really love the jukebox but it feels dated now. Plus, the inside is very, very dark. But hey, it keeps out the riff-raff.

Love this bar. 1.50 bottles of Point Special, great jukebos(although it used to be better back in the day) good movies and vids. I love this bar.

Great bar to just put your feet up and drink a nice cold beer. The place is very interesting with a cozy feel to it. If you’re looking for an interesting bar with lots of flavor then this is the place to check it out in La Crosse.

The plan was to go downtown and have a drink at a few bars. Our first stop was at Yesterdays. It turned out to be our only stop. The drinks were poured well and the price was right. I can’t give an exact price because while the bourbon and Cokes lubricated my brain, they seized my memory. The bar has a lot of oddities to look at. There’s the metal animal skeleton-thing above the bar and little televisions around playing whatever the bartender chooses– it was Scrooged when we entered. The juke box had some classics. I had to play Minor Threat’s, Out of Step. How could I have passed that one up while drinking? It was a quiet night at the bar. From 5 – 7 I think we were the only customers in the place. By nine there were probably a dozen. By eleven I didn’t notice, but I never felt crowded. Ya, I’ll be back. Oh, I never saw the tabletop arcade machine that Kandace H. writes about. I did notice the purple-top pool table– but didn’t play. I had work to do.

Distance to Bar: Long walk/bus/cab Luckily this bar caters to locals and out-of-towners and not to the local college crowd. This is a good thing for me. Plus, I’m not sure many students would appreciate the«style» of the place. In daylight, the inside was still dark(see pictures that did not come out too well). The place is visually interesting as the owner was in film school. There is sculptors from a local artist, videos play, strange videos, great music on the juke box. Lots of hard liquor. Beer on tap include: Pearl Street Brews, franziskaner, Smiths, Blue Moon, Guiness, Wisconsin Amber, and Alpha King Wish I lived closer, this would be my local.

Although I am from MN where the smoking ban has been effected, and Yesterdays is a very smoky bar at night, I had to review this bar as a great place to hang out if you can tolerate the smoky haze(I couldn’t for very long…) The really great thing about this place, however,(besides the cocktails, of course) is the old fashioned flat glass top arcade game. It has a mix of wonderful old-school games like Dig-Dug, Frogger, Asteroids, Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, etc. Hundreds of games to choose from on one machine. Costs a quarter to play. It was such a blast.

This is my watering hole of choice on most nights. It’s great punk/rock vibe and the music isn’t so loud you can’t hear the people you want to talk to. there is kind of an in crowd vibe most people get but it’s usually cracked when you sit there for more than a drink. The bar tenders are top notch and they have all of my favorite liquors(ex Sailor Jerry, Crown Royal) which may seem common but in case of the Sailor most bars don’t carry.

With a motto like«Yesterdaze-Better than you’ll feel tomorrow,» you pretty much know you’re in for a good night with some great people. I have had some of the best and worst memories in this bar, but I always come back for more. Every time I walk into this bar one of my favorite songs is playing. Rock Music only. It has the coolest murals on the wall. Great atmosphere is your in to the real rock scene, not just the stuff they play on the radio. Definitely worth checking out.
