Whomever waited on me at the front today was absolutely unpleasant. She was rude, not friendly, and completely made my experience of just getting food to go unpleasant. I understand that jobs in the food industry are not easy, but this person was just not friendly and didn’t try to be. The place wasn’t even super busy or packed at the time. Food was good. Other staff I encountered was helpful and kind. Other times I have been in here the front of house staff has been great. Maybe she was just having a bad day…

That’s it. I’m done. Went with the dude to get some burgers because we were both really hungry. While waiting we could see the people in the kitchen. One of the guys kept wiping his nose and then working with the food. Sans gloves. Told a manager who went back and never returned. Took the food. Heated it when we got home. But seriously that’s all the chances I’m giving them.

Smashburger is a very casual burger restaurant. Order at the counter, get a number and they will bring your order to you when it is ready. I had a regular Smashburger. My dining partner had the big burger. Neither were very big as far as burger portions go, but they did the trick. Fries were very thin and served hot. Prices seemed normal. Staff was nice.

Last time I visited this location, I waited for my burger for over 25 minutes… on my break… which is ONLY30 minutes. from a neighboring business… which meant I had to rush my mealtime which was EXTREMELY disappointing and un-pleasant. I have not been back since as this was over a year ago and have found local places that provide me better service in a shorter time and which I actually walk further to get to. Also, quality of meat was not that great. .kinda too greasy to be honest. Sorry guys… just the truth about a below average visit.

Okay I went back during lent after running a few errands… they now have bigger cups for the drinks(I know, small thing but when you are getting it to go, you need more than a small), I was disappointed that they didn’t have a grilled cheese(they do now, this was a while ago). When I mentioned to the person taking my order, they went ahead a made me one even though it wasn’t on the menu… and it was delish! So good the other workers there asked the guy who made it if they could have one because it looked so good! Fries were better too… what a great way to take care of your customers… nice job!

I placed an online order for my Dad and I so we could have a quick and easy lunch on a super snowy day. Unfortunately, when I brought the order home his fries were cold, burger bland, and the gluten-free bun that I ordered was instead a regular bun. I am gluten intolerant and unfortunately didn’t realize the mix up until I was half way through my chicken burger. When I company has a partnership with Udi’s, a very good gluten-free brand, I would think that they could make sure I get the special bun that I payed extra for.

I’m friends with Angie R., and so I just wanted to follow-up with my review of the food and service at the Smashburger location we visited that night. We were heading out of town and would be in the car for the next four hours so we decided to try Smash for the first time and dine in. I ordered the chicken sandwich, fries, and milkshake and I waited for my friends to order as well. We sat down to wait for our food and chatted excitingly about our pending weekend festivities. A waitress brought my shake which was very good, but it should have come with my food. All of our meals came together shortly thereafter, and we got to eating and talking further. My sandwich was very good, but the fries were bland. We were having a good time until I saw my friend pull the blond hair out of her burger, and we all were horrified. We even looked around to see who could have been responsible for getting the hair in her burger. That’s when we noticed that none of the cooks had hairnets on. I know I lost my appetite as soon as it happened. I was then infuriated to hear about what the manager had said to her when she asked for her money back. It’s a good thing(for everyone else that was in Smashburger that night) that my close friend has class, because I would have cussed him and everyone else out(I have a slight temper). But she is a queen and she conducted herself as such… so much that she still didn’t lose it when her question about where to throw our garbage out was met with blank stares and smirks. I was already headed out the door NEVER to return again. That manager was an asshole… whether he hates his job or himself, it’s no excuse for him to be disrespectful and say that to a customer who has raised a legitimate complaint respectfully. But, as I see the majority of reviews for this location are negative… I’m convinced that the owner doesn’t care or lacks the ability to implement change. You won’t get our money, but fix the problem… or don’t.

On Friday 11÷13÷15 my friends and I walked into the Smash Burger located at LaGrange Crossing(1 N. Lagrange Rd, Lagrange, IL. 60525). My friends and I were all so excited because we’ve heard how great the burgers were, this was our first time. Plus we wanted to get a bite to eat before we hit the highway for St. Louis for the weekend. Well while enjoying my food and the company of my friends I then realize I have a long blonde hair in my burger. I’m an African American woman, my hair is not blonde! Needless to say I was so discussed I reported this to the cashier and then the manager. While I’m standing there reporting the hair in my food I noticed all the kitchen staff was missing hair nets. Please excuse my ignorance but hair nets are required by law when working with food, yes? The manager did apologize and offered to make me something else but by this time I was discussed I didn’t want anything else I just wanted a refund. Yes, I was discussed, aggravated and now pissed because when I made the comment that I was not coming back the manager replied«If you not coming back then why do you want your money back»? WHAT… bleep, bleep, bleep you think you’re talking too!!! Then I felt like the other staff were amused because they were light weight laughing. I asked a questions regarding my friends trash and didn’t get a responses. So at this moment I knew it was time for me to leave and handle this situation with a review on Unilocal! Bottom line don’t visit the Smashburger on LaGrange road!

Two years ago I would have dropped five starts on this place. After trying out Mooyah Burger over in Lombard I was convinced they copied Smash burgers and wasn’t as good. Long story short I think it’s about the same just different seasoning. I’ll give smash burger the win but once you add up all the toppings(at least the ones I get) it comes back to a $ 10-$ 13 burger I still love the tiny stick rosemary fries and not over price fries trying to do too much. I haven’t been to back alley burger right across the street from them but can see why some will say they liked the options over there more(as I believe you can build your own but possible have more creations already made on the menu to choose from and feels less«cooperate fast food» You’ll still find me coming here every blue moon though.

Terrible, usually good but today it was so bad I had to write. Ordered fried pickles and a Windy City. Pickles were all BROWN grease, limp, absolutely the worst I have ever had. Burger was a little over cooked and haystack onions, Not good. Very disappointed .from the picture it’s pretty clear they fried my haystack onions for my burger with the fried pickles. What every happened to quality. I paid for it and did not get it. Used to be location, location now quality, quality. Get it together because you don’t have the location.

Never been to a smash burger before but decided to stop in the one in Lagrange off Ogden. I was greeted and explained the menu and how everything works. Smash Burger was awesome and the smash fries were even better. Customer service in the beginning was great but fell off after I got my food. A couple just raved about the impeccable customer service but I would say it was average. I would come back again because overall it was a good experience!

Tried the Veggie Black Bean Avocado Ranch burger based on a recommendation from the guy behind the counter. Fantastic and very fairly priced. Friendly service at this location!

Literally the worst burger joint I’ve ever walked into! It’s hard for me to give a bad review but this place doesn’t even deserve one star. Burgers were horrible! Ordered 2 burgers and they weren’t filling at all. The meat wasn’t well done and the cook looked like some suicidal linkin park addict who has something up his a$$ and just doesn’t wanna be at work. He’s lucky he didn’t catch me on a bad day. The cashier on the other hand was friendly but wasn’t really a big help when we were asking questions. Red Robin is definitely the place to go for good quality burgers. This place can’t compare! What a waste.

When in lagrange feel free to stroll in to smashburger. To a normal inner Chicagoan it might be a little pricy but you cant beat the quality i had the large bbq bacon cheeseburger and smashfry ate with my wife 3year old and 11 year old. In lagrange give it a try p. s they also got domestic bud and 312 for 2.99

Closed fifteen minutes early, employee at register gave the finger when I tried to open the door. I didn’t even know they were closed, that’s how I found out it was locked. The door on the front clearly says 10pm and I was there at 940.

Second time here and remain unimpressed. Had the avocado club and it was very salty… Really just subpar burgers for the price. I really can’t say I would ever come back at my own will. Just not worth it if your looking to satisfy the burger crave

I’ll be honest, I have a strong affinity for burgers and pizza. Though I try to eat healthy, those are two foods I can never say no to! As the end of the school year was approaching, the team I teach with decided to try Smashburger, which is conveniently located close to school in Downtown LaGrange. Though it doesn’t seem to be popular with my students, I was more than happy to give it a try. SmashBurger gets its moniker because they hand smash their never frozen beef patties. The beef is 100% certified Angus Beef, and makes a world of difference in taste. Though it is fast food in principle, the quality is not. I believe SB offers quality food at fair prices, with excellent customer service as well. Though SB offers chicken and salads, I opted for the traditional SmashBurger with all the fixings and the SmashFries(tossed with olive oil, rosemary and garlic). The fries are the skinny shoestring fries that I am not a fan of, but the flavor knocked my socks off! I would definitely order them again. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the toppings were fresh and crisp. The service was also quick, efficient and friendly. It’s a great place to stop in if you’re crunched for time but unwilling to compromise the quality of your meal. SB earned every bit of the 4 star rating I gave it, and for good reason.

Wow! This is the best burger in town. Perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and generous w/the sauce /toppings.(Compared to BackAlley, where they skimp on every aspect of the food for twice the price) The mushroom truffle burger is outstanding. Soooo much flavor in there. The Windy City is also excellent. Like a cranked up White Castle with the onions on there. The smash fries w: the rosemary are so good! Nice and thin, crispy and full of simple flavor. Forget the ketchup! Service was good tonight. Perhaps others have different expectations. I notice Groupon users always seem to be the biggest whiners about everything? Yeah– it’s a fried burger. There’s gonna be some grease. Just don’t eat it every day! That’s my rule.

Very solid burger here(got the spicy baja in the ½ pound big size). The fresh jalapeños on the burger really gave it some zip that is unusual in upscale fast food. The patty was wider than the good-sized bun and was a little more than ½″ thick. I found it to be really juicy, despite being cooked to well-done(no option for level given). All of the condiments worked well together. The regular fries are of the Steak and Shake style shoestring variety. They were hot and crisp and sized appropriately. I admit that I get a kick out of Five Guys fries and their gluttony-inducing portions, but these seemed just right. Parking is plentiful and free in a lot out back. I for one, am glad to have another high-quality burger chain in the area to keep Meatheads and Five Guys on top of their respective games.

The people that work at Smashburger always seem so nice, and this location is no exception. They were articulate about how happy they were to have us in the restaurant. I came for a late lunch and must have just missed the rush. There was nobody in line, but a lot of the seats were taken. I was able to order a shake with 2 different mixes(Oreo and nutty butter) and it was delicious(probably because they’re made with Haagen-Dazs)! I went with the BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar burger(BBQ sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, cheddar and haystack onions on an egg bun) with a side of avocado. Their Smash fries never disappoints either. Mmm, they are so good with their rosemary, olive oil and garlic seasoning! Delicious burger, mouth watering fries, and awesome milkshake cost about $ 15. This one is located near Brookfield zoo in downtown LaGrange. There’s a parking lot behind the building.
